SO I go to investigate and she's crying. "Feed me," she says. "I cannot survive on these measly shreds of RF garnishing." This brings tears to my eyes! I must find some food or baby will suffer in agony. My hunt begins! I search for months for a solution to her starvation and she grows weary every day. Then one day I stumble upon the tax man. "Here some money from Uncle Sam my friend. Take this now as I will be collecting more next year." Thanks Uncle Sam! What would I do without you??! So I run home in the excitement, eager to please my baby and feed her so she can grow to be a Strong and Powerful Mag. A couple weeks pass and the little one has been anticip…

2x Level 3 12's with an AQ 1200d amp, the box is little more than 4 cubes tuned to 39.5 hz, off some tones i was able to do a 139.9, and then some tuning bumped me up to 140.0 db, sealed with TL on the window. The hard part is its in a 4 dr car which are f*ckn hard to get loud, but we shall see what this setup can do when tuned to 43-44 hz, should have results Thursday with some pictures.

and it was like a driver that you could attach to a subwoofer box that was an alternative to porting or sealing a box. I belive it was called an Independant Radiator Driver or something to that nature. It looked like a regular speaker... had a cone and surround and what not but had no motor and i dont belive it had magnets either. So my question is... a.) if anyone knows what the hell im talking about b.) if so have they heard them in action

Yep, splurged on the Civic. Any type of volume that allowed you to hear over the road noise was polluted by the slap of a limp dick suspension, so while at the world with me madre today I happened to walk through the audio section and saw some 5 1/4" drivers for somethin like $5.99. I had some radioshack 4" drivers a while back and they actually sounded somewhat decent, so I figured the same would hold true for these, at least somewhat. It didn't really... At least now in the mornings on the way to school, I can listen to the talk shows. I guess.

My listening preference is wide. At 2.3 cuft I may have to go sealed.

So, my sister wants a audio make-over for her '05 Liberty as the stock system doesn't work well with her iPhone and speakers are pretty shot. She listens to a lot of music and A LOT of differnt types of music. Id like to hook her up with a really well rounded system that I can setup and forget it. I have a RF P300-2 Id like to use to power a nice set of comps up front and we'll probably end up going with a run of the mill Alpine HU. Its pretty hard to search for feeling on components on here becuase I feel like everyone either wants some that is just loud, or some that is way outta price range for her needs. We'd like to keep it under $200 for a set of 6.5'' comps that wi…

I have been up and down on what I wanted to put in my trunk. After some help from others on here I have got a starting point to get some good opinions. If this is still not a good starting point just tell me what I need to do. So I have measured my trunk and found that 34L x 34W x13H would be the largest enclosure I would be able to get in and out of my trunk with out building multiple piece enclosure. So with this new information I have realized that what I wanted to do will not fit in the opening of my trunk. So These are my thoughts of my new direction for my first car audio build. My current sub choices are: -FI BL12d1 x 2 -SA8-v2 x 4 (I would not be against the …

Haha just kidding Mark, but my alternator took a dump today. I was driving along, tunes cranked all the way, and then I notice that I'm getting a lot more voltage drop on my voltmeter... kinda cool until my amps shutdown cuz the voltage dropped below 11 on the beats Long story short, it doesnt charge much at idle, and I'm hearing a whining noise coming from the alternator. I'll be taking it in on Wednesday to get it rebuilt and see what actually fried. I should be able to make it to work and back tommorrow with it, unless I can bamboozle my dad into driving me, which I doubt.

Its a down fire box and the speaker cut out is like 1/4" too big. Its 11 1/4 and the subs I have right now wont screw in because they screw holes arent furhter out than 11 1/4 for some odd reason. This is a box for 2 12s Its a downfire box so if I were to put a plate on there and do a new cut out Id lose some clearance. Any other suggestions?

I bought it so that my girlfriends car seat for her son could be easily removed and such. We broke up today and are completely and totally done. I think it is time for a wall in my 2003 Mazda 6. I have been looking hard at the MAW-15's but would also consider the MAW-12's. What kind of space ported am I looking at and what kind of power can I feed four of them ported in a wall? I know I can give four of the 15's atleast 2k watts but would they be ok with like 6-700 a piece?

Installed my Next FLS 6 6.5" shallow mount components today. I decided to install the FLS's rather than the "regular" ALS comps because I have a fetish for shallow-mount designs and seeing how they perform Only have about 30 minutes with them so far.....put them through some tracks I'm familiar with and tossed in my IASCA test disk for a few tracks. Installed them in my doors; mid ran infinite baffle, tweeter in the stock location about 6" down from the sail-panel. Powered through the passives off of two channels of my Coustic DR-514 (50w RMS per side). HU is an Eclipse 8053. Low end is taken care of by a 12" Rl-p. First impressions: Tonality is pretty darn good.…

I just recently bought a pair of IVX 12's on impulse because of the sale, ha. They're rated at 300 rms, conservatively (As stated on their website). I've also heard that Skar is just booming like crazy, and getting all sorts of comp wins. Anyways, anyone here have any experience with how much clean power the IVX's can take?

http://our6thplanet.com/garage.php?mode=vi...amp;image_id=92 Nothing much to look at, just 5.5" ID sonotube, 10" long. Should give me a 40hz tuning frequency for each sub. It feels louder, and there's another SPL comp on the May 6th weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to meter it then

So I just bought a RD 2200.1 on the pre-sale on **** and I wanted to get 2 Alpine type R 15's for it. I think I might be pushing it with these subs because the amp supposedly does 2800 rms @ 14.4 volts and does rated at 10.8 volts!!! Now I have seen some videos of 2 Type R 15's being pushed by a sundown 3K, Autotek MM 3000.1, and even an AB VFL 500.1. Do you guys think I will be o.k with these subs being pushed daily like this. I plan to tune the box to around 30 hz. Also what size box should I make?

Would anyone happen to know where I'd be able to get soft parts/recone kits for 3 Soundstream Exact10's? I've had these fantastic subs for a few year, blown, figuring one day I'll get to use them again. So I am looking for either soft parts that'll fit or someone that could recone them from me thats local (Toronto, Canada) Thanks in advance.
