Hello fellas, I just picked up a pair of Claw Magnums from Hoss. I've wanted to try these for a long time, and finally came across a pair that I could afford. My only question now is, what size of box is recommended for a pair of these subs? Also, if somebody could point me in the direction of about how much port area is optimal, that would be great also. Thanks, Ry

Can anyone tell me what other subs have the same basket as Assassin's before the FI buildhouse thingy happened? It's about 1 year old I guess maybe a little more. The ultimate question would be what beefier 10 can I put in it's place without it getting any wider at the magnets? I've got a center console box in my truck and the width is the limiting factor not the depth. I'm looking for LSQ approx 1 cube sealed. Magnets have to be less than 6.5" in diameter.

I purchased an Audiocontrol Epic 160 in Dec. of 2003 to test the original D2 12's in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was incredible being able to put in heart pounding bass into what normally wouldn't have any bass. Anyway I had big SPL plans for the Jeep until the ride was officially not mine anymore. Long story short I purchased a lot of great items to help increase your SPL and now I have changed my focus for my new car, '99 Infinity G20T, to LSQ. So I have an Epic 160 used for approx. 3 weeks and a brand new 0 Awg amp kit fully complete but opened because I wanted to feel the difference between my little 4 Awg to the Beasty 0. If anyone is interested reply back with y…

I'm running my options and these are to be run of the sub channel of an AX5600 (don't know the exact sub, was told around 6-700w@ 1 ohm) i would prefer the mounting depth the to be 6" and under (preferrably skinnier the better, but if it will proved better performance, im all for up to 6.5. I would like to keep the airspace around 1.5 cubic ft sealed choices so far are (in no particular order): 1 10 or 12" SE 1 12" FI SSD 2 10" FI x1 V2 2 Soundsplinter RL-i 1 2 10" Sundown Sd1's 2 12 or 10" Mach 5 MAW 10's for the RE's i would be staying with the optimal sealed enclosure for the SSD i am staying with the recommended box specs of 1.1 cubes with the Copper coil + soft sp…

I'm looking to get a nice build going for my '02 GMC Envoy. I just replace the junk factory radio today with a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH and also decided to pick up a ND-BC5 back up camera. Now its time to get the sub-stage rolling. Currently my truck runs on a stock 150amp alt which will need a upgrade. So I am limited to a single h/o alt for this build due to no room under the hood. I'm leaning towards a dc 270amp alt. With this alt and a power cell or 2 will I have trouble keeping up the demand of a Crecendo BC3500 with possibly 500-1k watts to spare for my front stage? I want to pick up a pair of SSA XCONS for this amp but I'm having trouble on deciding to go with 2-12's or…

I've been trying to decide on subs for a while now, and ported seems to be the route I want to go. Currently I only have 1000rms to work with (hopefully more later), but overall with this much power, should I be concerned at all about xmax? Obviously I will have a SSF, and just not sure how crutial it is for a high xmax driver. I haven't had subs in a long time, since I've had kids, and the drive to work in the morning with some people on the road driving me nuts, I need to have something to relax me I've been looking at 15's because of the cone area, and I have an SUV, so size isn't that big of a deal, even though I'd like to keep the box within reason, so no more than …

i'm thinking about adding a cheap 10" sub to my dad's home audio setup. i was thinking about a RE re10d4 in 1.5cu @ ~28hz or something along these lines. his stereo receiver has a sub preamp output so i can just buy a cheap mono amp (100-200w) for power. the sub will be going with a pair of monitor audio rs6 towers in a medium/large living room. for price reference the re subs go for about $50ea. i was also looking at the dayton hf but they're about twice as much, i'm trying to stay under $75 shipped if possible. any suggestions???

I have built 2 boxes for these things and both have sounded like trash. I know they require about .6 cubes but I have yet to find the port area that is needed. I used winisd for both boxes and I have an insainamount of port noise the last box has a port 3.25x8.5x39 and I think the port length is to long already and I didn't have enough room for a larger port due to it getting longer. What size box and port should I go with?

Hello guy was really looking at some new subs to replace my old jl audio w6 12"s. I was interested in the sundown sa12 model and been checking out some nasty videos where these sub can take a beating and put up some numbers. But was wondering if there where any standard cut sheets on these subs? I've seen on there website for box volumes. Was thinking on going ported and i have not built any ported boxes, but was just wanting to just get the dimensions and go.

OK So I have a 2000 Dodge ram Standard cab, I had 2 polk audio 12s in it 1 cu sealed per woofer. They are gone now. I am trying to decide if I want to go with 1 12 in center console area, 2 8's behind the seat s or 1-2 10s. I play a wide variety of music. I want it to pound when i want it to and sound clean when I need it to. With the truck being a std cab sucks for space. I am going to run a massive audio Nano N2 800 rms amp. I dont mind taking out the center console to replace it with a box but if I can get away with putting something behind the seats and the console then would be better all around. Oh ya for clarification looking at SSA ICON 12/10 respectively or 2 T…

I've been trying to pick out a good set of comps for a while now and was wondering if I could get any input? I picked up a honda accord and everything has been ripped out. I guess its a good starting point. I have been watching videos on how to build your own fiberglass door panels and kicks and figured I might give it a try. If I can get it to fit I was hoping to run 2 12's ported sealed from the trunk and was wondering what set of comps would keep up and be clean but not too harsh? And if running 2 sets would be better?

After I get moved into my new house, and have some cash again. I'd like to get a sub back in my truck. I've been waiting for the Audiomobile's to pop up, but I'm not sure when they will be available and may actually cost more than I want to spend, since the AE X's will probably never be around again, I'm trying not to spend more than 300 on a 12/15, but I will if the right sub comes along. I'm hoping you guys can help point me in the direction of a sub. I have some specs in mind that seem to be what I'm looking for or close too. But, I don't have enough information on the subs I've been looking at. What I'm looking for is a sub that is efficient, accurate, has great sq…

I found a decent deal on some dd 1508's locally but they're s4 voice coils and I noticed on dd's website they are now only offered as d2 or d4 so I was wondering if there's any difference in between the two other than the voice coil configurations.

I just had a mtx 9512-44 go out on me. Pretty sure it's the voice coils. I've had it for nine years (and its taken many trophies) do u guys know if mtx will repair it? Already ordered fi bl's to take its place, but would still like to have this sub. Sentimental value I guess.

Where can I buy these Mach Audio MLI6.5? Not in the SSA store right only from the mach5audio.com website? I am also going to get some seas tweeter. I have an eclipse ea4000 so the woofers will be getting 75rms each and so will the tweeters. My headunit is a sony cd700 or whatever with graphic equalizer etc.... can I go active with it? Just with the headunit? This is my dumb idea. Cross everything over at 75hz and then play the woofers and mids, but obviously that isn't right? Anybody give me a hand or point me in the right direction if I'm doing this right? -Andres
