what can i put on the crack to help it hold together for the time being, its a sligh crack, and its not really getting any bigger, but it probably will with time, i bought it for the mini cooper, and im gonna use it until i need a recone. it doesnt have any affect on performance so at the moment a recone doesnt concern me. but im wondering if theyres anything i can put on the crack to help hold it together (hopefully something that wont be too ugly either) but ill have to live with it. is the PG tantrum 1200W too much for a magnum 15'' D2? I've seen some birthsheets that have 1500+ watts on this amp. I want real nice SQ in this setup any other suggestions under $400 for an amp? thanks.

Okay, well, I'm almost complete with the fiberglass enclosure for the MAG 15, but it's about 80% glass. I am having a little trouble with panel resonance. Now, this was just the first listening session and it was without any poly in the box. I'm wondering if polyfil will cure this or is there some other means I should look to? The actual interior has been sealed with rubberized undercoating, but it is not a very thick layer and hasn't seemed to do much other than completely seal it up just in case there were any small holes (which I know there's not because I'm just that good). Any help?

I'm just looking to hear what other people's preferences are about full range / component speakers. My system is getting installed next week and after MAJOR hassles trying to get Memphis to send the right speakers and amps I'm going with all Infinity (a mix of components, full ranges, and an amp. With 2 15" LIs and cadence amp for bass). I've had Infinity speakers before and liked them quite well for the price, but I hear lots of people say they are too loud on the highs and have no midbass (with a definition of midbass being below 100hz). To me full range speakers should not go below 100hz, and in fact I've often put in bass blockers at the 100hz level. I think a good …

I want to get something like a single 12 or 10 and a 500 watt rms amp. Been looking at the store on here and cant seem to match anything. Ive always had jl, and had a 12 w6v2 with the 500 watt slash amp and liked it. I want to see if there is a cheaper alternative (there has to be) i like the look of the sundown amps, but 1200 watts is the smallest, yikes. any ideas. I was thinkning maybe the dual 10 setup they have in the store. I think its 2 10" dcons or something with the 125.2 amp. Any other ideas. Not looking for tons of bass, just some smooth low end to put in the car.

hi, i have a 12" type r that needs a recone (burnt vc) and since i can get a new one for almost the same price for a recone kit i figure that i would try to do a hybrid sub with it. but here is my problem. the type r uses a 2 " diameter vc and the basket has an opening for that size vc. so while i was looking around and i could find any sub that had a 2" vc that was worth doing something like this to. so i was wondering if anybody knows any subs that uses 2" vc. and also if anybody could tell me how a type r gets a burnt vc from only 375 watts. i see that tc sounds epic have a 2" diameter vc.

Well i bit the bullet and im buying used CD player. Eclipse 3400. while insalling my IS2080 i found my surounds on my RE mids where comming unglued and the coens where dry rotting. IE poor build quality though they sound great. one of the cones has actually begun to split with the extra power. So im going to have to get new mids, im planning on eventualyl going active so i'd like a good pair of 6.5's that have strong midbass, around 100w RMS or less, work well IB or sealed, and would integrate with me RE tweeters and overs for the time being.

1999 mercedes benz kompressor c230 I plans are to stay full IA apart from components/coaxials via CDT. But I don't consider this a car really "usable" for spl so i'm at a loss as to what I should go for now, original plans were 6 10" 187 in a s10 extended cab on a new 20.1 but... didn't go that route and this is what I ended up with for 3000 dollars. Hey, it's a benz I still would like to do the 20.1 down the road but i'm at a total loss as to what subs to try now as room/trunk would be an issue, never had a trunk car so i'm unsure how those setups work exactly. Anyone have any suggestions as to what size/sub to try ( sticking with IA ) to give me the bass i'd like but …

I am going to be ordering a 10" FI Q in the next couple of days. It will be going in a sealed box with .57 cu. ft. or airspace after displacement. I will probably be running it with an older Memphis 1000d I have laying around. I know I need to add the high QTS option to it, but should I add the cooling option as well? This may actually be a stupid question but does the cooling option add any length to the mounting depth? My box is only 7" deep so I dont have any room to play with being that the mounting depth for the Q is already 6.5". Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I'm going to need some PA mids to blend with my crescendo supertweets. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-422 I'm looking at these, they are 8 ohms. My plan is to split the power of my rear two channels of my Arc Audio FD4.150. It's rated 160 per channel at 2 ohms. I currently have Type R 6x9s on them, and I wish them to remain on the channel. Assuming I hook up 2 of those Selenium mids + a type r 6x9 per channel, the amp will see a two ohm load correct? 1/(.125+.125+.25)=2. And each speaker will be receiving ~53 watts (of course not continuous) correct? This seems like it should work but I'm not positive...

Whats up guys. Ive been trying to build a box for my (yet to arrive) 18" Ascendant Audio Chaos but it isn't really turning out how i would like it. You guys must have some tricks/ideas that i just dont know about yet (ive only built L-Ported boxes)! I'm trying to get this box as big as possible with the small dimensions i have to work with. I dont know about the tuning frequency, i've been happy with 33hz in previous setups, but i dont know, what do you recommend? I listen to rap music. I'd like the box to fit in my (small) '99 honda civic hatch. These are the max exterior dimensions i can work with: 26.3" deep 30.7" wide 20.1" high It will have to be ported up towar…

OK. So I've recently come into a little bit of money (retroactive pay from finally getting a contract). So I booked a trip to Disney world for the FAM and still have a little kicking around so... Was debating either getting: a new subwoofer, a new shotgun, or finishing off a tattoo on my ribs. So, if I went with new subwoofer, I would be looking at a 15" subwoofer, dual 2 ohm coils. I will have 850 watts on tap at 1 ohm (PPI sedona 850.1) and an enclosure that would be 4 cubic feet tuned to 33 hz. My question I guess is will any of the following do well in this enclosure: 1: SSA gcon 15 2: IA lethal injection 15 3: fi ssd 15 Enclosure is already in the vehicle with an r…

I have Hertz ESK-165.5 components sets in my car. I have my tweeters on -2 on the crossovers, but when there are "S's" and sometimes "F's" they seem very harsh. Everything else sounds fantastic though. Do you know the frequencies so I can turn them down a little? Or is there another way to fix this? Thanks.
