ive been lurking on smd for a while now and got some DD's about 2 months ago, im happy but they have been a pain in the ass, squishy dust caps, weird sounds on highs and just over all unpleasantness of them, so ive turned my eyes to some new pretty ssd12's i want to keep my m3b seeing i paid a SH** ton for it, would 2 12''ssds be ok on that power(about 1200 each) havent yet clamped it to see but according to the birth sheet at one ohm thats what itd would be. my box dims are about 5.2 net so about 2.6 each at 34hz with a 5 in port 26 inches long. now final statement, would these bad boys handle all this?

Im looking for a good tweeter match for my MLI-6.5. Both the mid and the tweeter will be in the door. I could probably find a place to put the tweeter on axis if that matters any. It will be a active system ran off a US Acoustics USX-4065 (zed built) rated at 65x4 at 4 ohms. The substage will be a 18" xcon ran off a saz-1500d. Im looking for good sound. If it has the ability to get loud thats just a plus.

I was using SEAS Prestige 27TFFNC/G (H1396) tweets for a while and really liked them. They got stolen and my plan was to either buy new ones or go with the LPGs. Any opinions? They are currently paired with a Dayton RS125-8 5" but the the daytons don't output enough for me. I threw them in my doors because they were all that I could fit. I'll likely switch them out for a pair of my MLI65s or something. Deck is a Pioneer DEH-P880PRS running active. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hey all, I was thinking about getting 2 RL-i8's for my 99 4door Tahoe, would this be enough to get decent bass? I know I have a lot of room for subs but I don't want to take up too much space (I have 2 kids). I have not heard these subs before, but from the vedio that was put out from the hellboy box amazed me. I know I wont get thoes numbers they put up but I still want some decent sound and loudness. Thanks for any input.

Hey all, I'm looking at getting one or two of the new mags, but want to start building my hatch. I did a quick search but turned up emptyhanded. Anyone know what the cutout size and OD size of the woofer is going to be? Thanks, Pat

Alright guys I'm a total noob when it comes to wiring stuff. This is my first system and I want it done right! Let me tell ya'll what I got. I have Rockford Fosgate 5 and 1/4s all the way around with an Alpine MRV 300 powering them. I just got my Crescendo S1500 to power my Sundown X 12. I also have a Kinetik HC 1200. I have to splice the 0g wire I have going to my amp and run it to my second battery so I got a 0g splicer. I have to go and pick up some 0g ring terminals so I can solder them to the 0g. From there I'm pretty freaking lost right about now! I'm lost as to how to wire my dual 4ohm down to 2ohm. Any help or expertise would be awesome. Thanks guys.

I'm still pretty new to the car audio world and often found myself curious about the makeup of a subwoofer and how all the parts work together. After reading conversations about cones, spiders, baskets, vent plugs, poles, etc I was thoroughly confused. I'm sure some other ppl feel/have felt the same way. Hopefully this can be as helpful to others as it has been for me... --> http://www.electronichouse.com/article/ana...f_a_driver/C201 Once you read all the verbage, click on "view slideshow" and there are a few exploded views of a subwoofer. There's still a lot more to learn, but I think this is a decent foundation to building some decent subwoofer knowledge.

2 10'' lethal injections 2 10'' Sound Splinter RL-i 2 10'' Cerwin-Vega Vmax 2 10'' kicker l7s Now i would be able to build the recomended box for all. Also i will be using a 2000 watt (max) dhd amp, it could be lowered if need be. Which would be best for spl purposes? thanks for your time!

Somehow I've ended up with an 07' RE XXX 12" sub.....lol....Couldn't pass the deal up, so I snagged it. Was just wondering...I've got 2 Sundown Audio 3000D's..If I wire this thing to 4 ohms, let each amp see 2 ohms...that would equal 3200 RMS going to the subwoofer. Can this thing handle that much power day to day? I may end up not running this woofer, I may just keep it for the future....but if I do, I want to know if it can take the power. I know RE claims 2000 RMS, but if I keep my gains true and do not go full tilt, will it be ok....or am I going to be breaking out the BBQ sauce pretty soon? Any one have experience with this woofer? I'd appreciate it, if you would g…

Well, I'm going to need some PA mids to blend with my crescendo supertweets. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-422 I'm looking at these, they are 8 ohms. My plan is to split the power of my rear two channels of my Arc Audio FD4.150. It's rated 160 per channel at 2 ohms. I currently have Type R 6x9s on them, and I wish them to remain on the channel. Assuming I hook up 2 of those Selenium mids + a type r 6x9 per channel, the amp will see a two ohm load correct? 1/(.125+.125+.25)=2. And each speaker will be receiving ~53 watts (of course not continuous) correct? This seems like it should work but I'm not positive...

I'm thinking about getting another 12" I currently have the Q in a sealed box and love the response and how quick it is to catch everything I throw at it; I have a sax-1200 running it. But I'm looking for something new and a little louder. Is it worth trying it in a ported box before I sell it or should I just jump to the RL-p is this sub any better? I keep hearing good things about it. I listen to a wide range of music depends on what im diggin at the moment. Owned a w7 before and old re se and some other not worth mentioning. So far Q has to be a favorite.

Lately I've been thinking about upgrading my front stage and decided that is what I'm going to do. Currently I have one set of Image Dynamics CTX65cs and I love them. I'm thinking I want to go ahead and just add another set up front. I noticed an online store actually sells the mid-range and tweeter separately and I've read some random stuff about running them actively. Does anyone know if this is indeed possible and where I would crossover the speakers\tweets at? If this sounds like a bad plan I'm open to suggestions. I found a nice set of pods for my doors that allow a 6.5" driver, 4" driver, and a 2" tweet. I've also read that setting up a 3-way to sound good can be re…

by using the re audio box calculator and attempting to account for the displacement of the sub listed on the ssa site ive come up with these specs i would like thoughts please and thank you im going for a mix of rap country and rock on probably 400 rms i figure once i get my components my midbasses would be mainly responsible for the kick is that correct where as if that is the case i would like for the sub to go low and hit the deep bass my available area is w38in h 15.5 in d 18.5 in the re box calculator says 36.5x12x13.5 with .75 for mdf would give 2.249 ft3^ that is with the ssa listed sub displacement of .14 included it also shows port height 10.5 width 1.5 length 1 …

I'm running my options and these are to be run of the sub channel of an AX5600 (don't know the exact sub, was told around 6-700w@ 1 ohm) i would prefer the mounting depth the to be 6" and under (preferrably skinnier the better, but if it will proved better performance, im all for up to 6.5. I would like to keep the airspace around 1.5 cubic ft sealed choices so far are (in no particular order): 1 10 or 12" SE 1 12" FI SSD 2 10" FI x1 V2 2 Soundsplinter RL-i 1 2 10" Sundown Sd1's 2 12 or 10" Mach 5 MAW 10's for the RE's i would be staying with the optimal sealed enclosure for the SSD i am staying with the recommended box specs of 1.1 cubes with the Copper coil + soft sp…

Okay so i have a powerbass pb-b125dv2 and it is popped and i want an fi recone. I was going to get the re se recone from them. I was going to change the gasket to 12 spoke and buy the recone and drop it in. Will this work. And it is a DVC sub. Is this possible. The sub is pratically new.

My friend needs a single 15 sub setup that will perform nicely off 750-1000 rms in 3 cube ported box. He is trying to spend 200$ or less on the subwoofer. Probably going to get slightly used or new, but most new are out of his range. Ive been thinking RE SX, FI Q, Fi SSd.. something along those lines. Would like your recommendations. Thanks

been browsing some more known sites known for their technicality and knowledge instead of CA Forum Flame fests. i need some suggestions on which dedicated 7" midbass drivers work best in IB enclosures when installed in properly deadened doors. im looking to spend up to 250$ for the 2 drivers. and the size cant exceed 7", i plan on high passing the midbasses around 65hz - 70hz with a high 24 db slope. and playing them up to 300hz where my cdt hd 4" will take it from there. Will be feeding up to 125 - 130 watts at 4 ohms from a 100.2 sundown amp. I need some driver suggestions but as of now, i hear the following are some respectable drivers. AA Poly's Adire Extremis Peerles…
