Hi all, So a month or so ago I was driving around listening to my system and had a young kid in my backseat and he kicked my amp rcas breaking them half off in the amp. Long story short my mids on my Hertz HSK components blew when I turned it up not realizing this and now sound like crap. I currently don't have the budget to go out and spend $500 on a new set. Problem is I loved these speakers and really don't want to downgrade much if possible so my only real option I see is going active. My System currently: In a 2003 Dodge Dakota Crew cab. Anyone happen to know what this sub is?

I have been looking for some mid bass speakers and these caught my eye, I'm wondering if anyone out there has used them if so how did you like them? I would be using them in a 3way passive set as the woofer, crosser over points are 500hz and 3.5hz off a R/F P400-2. They are on eBay for what I believe to be a reasonable price. I wonted to post the eBay link but was not sure how. thanks for any and all replies.

I'm sure all of us has heard the emphasized S sound. The high-hat that makes you blink every time you hear it. I have always heard that tweeters tend to be personal taste and vary person to person but man is it hard for me to listen to a blaring titanium or aluminum dome tweeter for a extended period of time. I'm looking for some supplementary highs that are "smooth" so to speak. I have been very impressed with silk dome tweeters but i'm looking for other suggestions. They can't be like 25 watts rms too. I'm wanting to sale a sub I have laying around on Craigslist. I'm not the kind of person to screw someone over so while getting more pics a put the DMM on the coils.. That's one coil. Kinda strange on the other. First test it read 2.5 then after disconnecting the probes and I pushed on the cone. Reconnected at it shows 3.5. Not sure how to understand what's going on. My main concern is trying to sell a f'd up sub to someone. When I had it connected last it sounded decent. Didn't appear to be functioning improperly. No scraping or anything. Help me understand.

Been looking into 15" driver's that work really well in small sealed enclosures 2cubes and below. The old power series of Rockford fosgate hx2 caught my attention with the recommended size of 1.25 sealed for a 15(before sub displacement). Is that correct does the driver hit a low enough frequency response in that recommended size of box? Just had the rf,dc lvl3,dayton ho on my list of drivers....Is this worth my time looking at a older style driver?

Since October I have blown 2 subs using the same enclosure and amp. I have the right electrical to back it all up. Originally the sub was a 10 inch xcon which I popped mid November then sent it to SPLaudio for a recone, received it back mid December and now I popped it again. it is in a 1.4 cube box tuned to 32hz. All gains set right and all bass boosters on my stereo are at 0.. any help is appreciated. Thank you.

i am currently looking at changing my set up and was considering to build with 10" xcons. I am looking at aero port for my box build curious what type of port area I need to be looking for? or is some one can let me know how to calculate this. Thanks.

I'm looking for some expert advice from the makers of the drivers. About 2 years ago I purchased 2 18IBs. I built a IB sub in the ceiling and about 2 months later I sold the house and moved. Before moving I pulled my 18s from the ceiling and now they are sitting in my closet. The big problem is my new home is not conducive to the IB design (no basement, flat roof). So, the question is can I use the IB drivers in a sonotube design? If not, why not? If I did, although it may not be ideal, what should I expect? Any light you can shed is much appreciated. Richard

bought two brand new from here there incriminator i series 10's have 2 days of low volume... running them at 2 ohms off a sundown sae1200 gains set right... today well playing at med lvl it started to sound off so I turned it down got home to see what's up... one sub has a odd rattle pulled out of of the box shake it sounds like something's loose and rattling the other ones perfect they ohm out to specs

So last week while driving and listening to music at a moderate level, my left mid goes out all of a sudden. It comes back on then out again about two more times until it completely stops. The tweeter was still playing fine however. Now I'm pretty baffled by this. I checked every connection, from the amp to the crossover and then finally the speaker itself. Nothing was wrong, but I redid the connections at the amp and crossover anyways. Still didn't fix it. I took the speaker out of my door to inspect it and test it on an amp in my bedroom. Nothing is visibly wrong with it, coil is perfectly shiny, cone moves up and down without any problems. Tried testing it in my room…

Thinking of a pair of x 12's by sundown or a pair of lvl 3 12's by dc. What would you consider a better woofer for musical lows.

Okay, so I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with installs on a toyota prius. I've researched a little bit and can't find all that much. I'm looking to maybe get two SSA GCON 12s. And I'd like to get around a 1300 watt amp to power them. But I'm not sure how much a Prius can handle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Alright to the point Im doin an install this comming spring The front stage is Focal Utopia Tweeters/Mid/Mid bass (1inch,3" and 6.5") No Rear stage. I have a few morel 378s. While they sound very nice, flat, loud, and can be crossed over quite low, they don't have the high end extension and sharpness that I have come to like. I tried out the ft1s which are quite the opposite in sound to the 378s. They do have the high end extension and sharpness, but are definitely lacking highly in the lower end and are also a little peaky. I've looked around at pro audio to home audio, super tweeter to regular tweeter, but have not found a hard dome tweeter that has relatively flat response, around 100-200w rms, 90-100db sensitivity, 4-8ohm. I know i just started another thread where within i asked about these, but figured a new thread would get more light on the subject especially since there seems to be no reviews on these yet.. I local shop has been installing these mostly in a 10" for smaller space systems like mine. Says they are pretty awesome, and blow the rockford p3's i was looking at clean away given my type of setup. i have a set of Polk dxi 6.5 components in the front doors of my truck. I really dig the tweets and over all they sound pretty good. ive done a fair amount of deadening and sealing of the doors. They are being powered bye a jl xd400/4 gettin about 75 watts rms. Would it be worth a shot to upgrade the woofers with some thing with a little more extension? Mid bass isnt bad for what they are now,but could be better! is there any limitation of the woofer through the passive xover or does it just block bass from the tweets? An active setup is my ultimate goal so purchasing a better mid woofer is not a bad idea anyway. just wondering if anyone has upgraded a component woofer…

Hey guys, been a long time since I've been around on the forum here. I've mainly been doing performance stuff on my car, but am bored again with my system in the truck. I have an 08' crew cab silverado and already had a custom box with 2 JL8w7's. Rear seat has been lifted 2" to accommodate larger boxes. I just picked up a DD m1c as I think that's the most powerful amp i'll be able to use without further upgrading my electrical system. I can build a box up to a a total of about 2.7 cubic feet, maybe 3.0 total absolutely maxing out space. I can fit 8's front facing, or if I downfire them I can fix up to 15" with up to 7.5" mounting depth. I'm looking for as loud as p…

Same motor and soft part assembly. The difference is cone size and basket. Same amount of power is applied and the same size/tuning enclosure. What I am noticing in winISD is that the two 15" are more efficient and the four 12" have a less than 3db higher output. Is it fair to say that the output difference between four 12" and two 15" are negligible with same power and enclosure? FYI I compared four 12" xcons and two 15" xcons in 8^3ft tubed to 32hz. I also compared four 15" xcons and two 18" xcons in 15^3ft tuned to 32hz. The 15" & 18" comparison gave the same results as mentioned above.

I'm looking to get some tweeters soon and seeing what you guys think would be a good choice .. I have 4 crescendo pwx's right now and I see people saying a lot that the ft1 tweeters don't match up to good. I'm looking for something that will. Probably wanting to spend 100 or under So far the front stage will be Clarion cz702 ppi a600.2 Ppi a100.2 Crescendo pwx's Going to be running an active front stage. I was going to save a bit of cash and order some Exodus Anarchy's, but lo and behold a nice little pair of Faital Pro 6FE200's have fallen into my lap. I'm looking for tweeter suggestions. I will probably be mounting off axis in sails or a pillars. Budget is under $150 for the pair. $150 being absolute maximum.

I am making my first attempts at subwoofer building. I never reconed or built a subwoofer so I am learning as I go. Top priority for these subs is to have a low qts since I plan on using these with passive radiators. Suspension compliance is really a stab in the dark at best. The motors I am using are built by TC Sounds for Lightning Audio. They have a cool neodymium slug and a huge top and bottom plate. The baskets and cones are made by TC Sounds as well. The baskets accommodate six hole mounting points. I needed to drill mounting locations for the four hole motors. I sent the baskets out to be powder coated. I should have them back in the next co…
