Subwoofers / Speakers

I thought cabin gain was supposed to make a sub sound louder and play lower, yet with my doors closed and windows up, it is signifigantly quieter than with a window down or door open, especially in the low bass region. FYI, I have an audioque LW8 (awesome sub btw) in a 1 cu. ft. enclosure with 16in^2 of port tuned to 35hz behind the driver's seat of a 1998 ford ranger extended cab facing backwards. It seems like there is some sort of cancellation going on; in my HT I could help this by adjusting the phase, but i've never heard of a phase adjustment on a car amp. well i blew a voice coil in a 7 year old power hx2 12 with a brutus 1600d. wondering if i should just buy a new sub or recone this one, also i cant find a recone for it. any advice will be appreciated. thnx in advance

i ordered a 15" magnum d2 but i didnt get a box yet. my friend says i could use his box. its a 15" and its ported but its only like 2 cubic feet. i do plan on gettin another box but how will the magnum sound in this box

OK so i am going to put a 18" btl in the rear deck of my 96 impala ss and was wondering how many 6" aero tube would enough for one 18". And how many for two 18" btl's i plan to put both in the rear deck and trying to see if i have enough area. any help would be great

I purchased an Audiocontrol Epic 160 in Dec. of 2003 to test the original D2 12's in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Does anybody know the exact cutout for the Zcon 18"? I will be using a Jasper jig on my router. I know it says 16.75" but I thought I heard it was a bit smaller? They are not here yet and I need to cut my baffles. Thanks.

im working on a stealth install. so hewres my situation, the way im doing my doors is im taking off the carpet, mounting the speaker and puting the capret back over. it was designed for midbass aplicatuions becuase carpet shouldnt harm like 80-300 herts to much but hows it going to effect the upper midrange of the 302's if i buy them>?

So, I had some extra 6.5s sitting in my garage and was hopin i could use those in my truck, turns out i would have to do some pretty major work to get them in there due to the way the door is built, so i think i will just go with some of the same size, some 6x8's....does anyone know any good 6x8s before i end up going with some RF power serier component 6x8s? thanks

I have an opportunity to buy TWO practically new T2d412 in box for 600. I know they go for over 500 new not including the box. I also know they are spl subs. My question is a. Is there any reason I shouldnt get them b. Has anyone had experience with the newer model t2s and if so are they musical AT ALL?

So my buddy had his system stolen and he gave me 2 recone kits for some 15" orion hcca d4 subs...since i got them for free i was wondering if there was a custom basket and motor i could use? Or what basket and motor would fit? Please help cuz i know these recone kits run around $150 so its a lucky break on my side

I'm looking at the RE SR subs for 600 watts and I may run a pair of the 10s. However I saw that the 12s only require 1.5 subs per sub tuned to 35 hz. Does that sound right? If it is correct what type of sound would that produce? Would it have good SQ and get loud?

Hello all fellow bass heads Like the title says I need help, getting my recones for my subs but I failed to order the glue, (I ass umed it came with the KIT) but was wrong. is there any thing I can use for recones in place of the ca glue that works as well, I have a show in 2 weeks and im afraid I wont be ready in time (break in the subs) Thanks

ok so i got my sub running and i love it but there is many settings on the orion 1200d amp what do i set my crossovers at? my box is sealed at 2.65

Im looking for a good tweeter match for my MLI-6.5. Both the mid and the tweeter will be in the door. I could probably find a place to put the tweeter on axis if that matters any. It will be a active system ran off a US Acoustics USX-4065 (zed built) rated at 65x4 at 4 ohms. The substage will be a 18" xcon ran off a saz-1500d. Im looking for good sound. If it has the ability to get loud thats just a plus.
