  1. i have an audiobahn 4002T amp and i am gonna be getting some money from my scholarships that i didnt use for tuition. i dont have a whole lot of money and i am runnin stock battery and alternator so i cant go too many watts. i may get a new amp someday, but if i do it wont be over 600 watts. anyways, i have 400 watts bridged at 4 ohms and i am trying to figure out what sub i want. i know i want 1 12" and a ported box tuned to 30-32 Hz. i want pretty decent SQ, i want it to hit low, hit hard, and get loud. so basically LSQ. i am between the RE SX and the Rl-p but i just cant decide. since the SX is only dual 4 ohm, i can wire it to 2 ohms or 8 ohms. i am a little worried …

hey guys. Trying to find a new set-up here (sub set-up) and am looking around at my sub options! Currently I am running an 18" BL in a 5.5ish box @ 35Hz I think. It is pretty dang loud...but I am starting to go away from SPL based to subs that are able to reproduce the sounds a bit better. I have recently acquired a pair of Adire Koda 6.5 components and am hoping to blend things. The BL would pretty much destroy any midbass that would be output with them and I really wanna do a proper(ish..bear with me guys haha) set-up of an actual "sub" crossed over at 60Hz or so and then hear some real midbass. Here were the subs that I was looking between. Currently I have a JBL amp …

  6. Hi all, I have a BTL n2 12" actually, and I love it. but I want more now ! I was thinking of reconing it to a 15" sub. Can you tell me what I need to buy from Fi, of course ? Recone kit, basket ? Is it hard to do ? Can I find a tutorial here or elsewhere (I'll try Google !). I won't do it myself as I am not very familiar with speaker recones and tools, and ...anything !!! a friend of mine will do it, but I want to know some things before. I already have a design for a good box. It must be around 3-3.5 ft3 net @ 32 Hz ! Thanks in advance for your help.

I've decided on a FI SSD 10" for my sealed application. Will be running two of them off an AD2200d. Trying to decide whether or not the cooling option is necessary. I'v decided non of the other options are really necessary but would appreciate input if someone thinks I'm mistaken. Daily driver, not super loud all the time but I like to rock out when I feel the need. Thoughts?

I just got a 2003 toyota celica gts and am set on getting a 12" SSA ICON D2. I am going for SQ and dont know whether to get a ported box or sealed. Also, I have heard that facing the sub up is a good idea in a celica because of the shape of the tailgate. Anyway, i need to know info on the box and what amp to get. My budget for the amp is about 150. Thanks for your time in advance.

Can anyone tell me what other subs have the same basket as Assassin's before the FI buildhouse thingy happened? It's about 1 year old I guess maybe a little more. The ultimate question would be what beefier 10 can I put in it's place without it getting any wider at the magnets? I've got a center console box in my truck and the width is the limiting factor not the depth. I'm looking for LSQ approx 1 cube sealed. Magnets have to be less than 6.5" in diameter.

My sub doesn't have a grill and that box full of parts broke the 10" ssa dcon rubber surround and even the cone. I tried using silicone, but the sub sounds like crap! Can i get a new cone and rubber or should i start looking for a new 10"?

Hello folks. I wanted to get some opinions on 8inch midbass drivers. I'm changing up the front end in my Dodge Durango. I will be running 4 Diamond Audio M6 4inch midranges and a pair of M&K softdome tweets. They will be actively passed at 250 up at 12db per/octave. One set of mids and the tweets will reside in custom pods on the front corners of the dash(tucked in between the dashboard, A-pillar, and windshield so they can be on-axis and facing the passengers) and the second set will reside in pods on the upper front corners of the front door panels. All will be laser aligned to a center point about a foot past the front seats. The midbasses will be located in the lo…

So, I had some extra 6.5s sitting in my garage and was hopin i could use those in my truck, turns out i would have to do some pretty major work to get them in there due to the way the door is built, so i think i will just go with some of the same size, some 6x8's....does anyone know any good 6x8s before i end up going with some RF power serier component 6x8s? thanks

I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4-door. I am looking to replace my factory speakers. I have 4x6 speakers in the dash (not sure of mounting depth, could not find that spec. anywhere) and according to my research 6 3/4" in the rear doors (again not sure of mounting depth). This will be the first time i go with components or run the speakers off of anything but the head unit. I will be using an old rockford 2 channel amp to power the speakers, it is 100.2 (if memory serves). I need help choosing speakers to fit in the stock location. I would like to keep the cost ~$200, but i can go more if need be. I am open to all suggestions since i am a noob when it comes to this. So an…

Where can I buy these Mach Audio MLI6.5? Not in the SSA store right only from the mach5audio.com website? I am also going to get some seas tweeter. I have an eclipse ea4000 so the woofers will be getting 75rms each and so will the tweeters. My headunit is a sony cd700 or whatever with graphic equalizer etc.... can I go active with it? Just with the headunit? This is my dumb idea. Cross everything over at 75hz and then play the woofers and mids, but obviously that isn't right? Anybody give me a hand or point me in the right direction if I'm doing this right? -Andres

Stock alternator, and a ed Nine.1, giving each around 400 watts a peice. it's going into an extended cab truck.... anyone have a guess at around how loud this setup is going to be? i'm just curious at what you guys think.
