Box is small,.6-.75 and is sealed.I know that it won't give out the sort of output like a ported would, but I don't have room for a huge box.Looking for a mix of loud and good sound if that is possible.600rms @2ohm on hand. $150 price, give or take a few bucks.Thinking I can get a decent used one.

OK, so as some of ya know, Johnny Avarado is no longer with Powerbass. Johnny was the guy with the hookup for recones. Today I tried to get some XSD1 recones, & they said they knew they had the version 2 D2's no D1's , but will call me back if they can find any Version1 D1's. Also, they have recones for the ES subs, but they don't have any for the ES Double stack line......so I say, if you all compete with the powerbass subs, order up some recones NOW, weather you need them or not, otherwise you may not be able to get them. Some have said the Atomic AP recones will work NO THEY DON'T. the AP's are 2 1/2" VC the XS's are 3" on the 15's, I do not know about the 12's (Th…

Hey Mark, Just curious how much it would cost to get one of my Mach 5 SPL-12s fixed. It fell in my box, and cracked the basket. My dad and I used some epoxy and got the basket as true as it could be before we epoxied it, however I'd like to get it repaired right. It would need a new recone and basket I would think. Are you able to repair your subs, and if you can, how much would you figure it would cost?

I have four 12s (infinity dvc) IB into my seat, they work great and have enough output for me but weigh a ton. So I'm thinking of lighter subs that are more efficient as well. So I'm reading up on it and that kind of sub tends to make less sub bass but more mid bass....a 12 might split at 40Hz where the common HD sub makes more under that and efficient sub more over that (more db); so they have more rolloff at lowest frequency. I like 30Hz, not sure if I would lose much since the difference is not very great. But now I am thinking maybe two efficient 15s would work better; with a lower Fs they should get deeper than efficient 12s right? Maybe as deep as the 12 infinitys? …

I am really looking forward to getting my first system... Right now...im pretty set on a headunit...probably a kenwood(KDC-MP735U) or pioneer(DEH-P59000IB) But im looking heavily into Subs....Mainly the Mach 5 IXL(12.2 and 10.2) and the SSA Icon...i know there isnt a HUGE fan base for these subs but as far as getting loud...and sounding decent which is better...because i could spend 300 and get two IXL 10s but i would end up spending more money in the electrical system... I saw the Fisher Customs has a good box/woofer deal with the Icons.... All in all i want some clarity and some bass...but i dont wanna use my whole trunk up...thanks!

Goal is a stealth setup and enclosure needs to be small. Something capable of good output and above avg sound quality too. I would like to do a low-tuned ported alignment or a sealed in the .75-ish QTC zone. I have 900(+) RMS at 2 ohms or 600(plus) at 4 to work with. Will be built under armrest in a 97 Chevy Silverado. I realize I'm asking a lot, just looking at options.

  9. Hey guys, I plan on building a system from scratch when I buy a new vehicle. Im planning on buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee and buying a BC5500d and I will have plenty of space in the rear of the SUV but I cant decide if I want to get 2 12"s sundown x-12s or an 18" SSA Evil. Those subs are just examples, Im not set on any one brand or sub. What do you guys think? 2 12"s or an 18" or something else possibly? Matt

Looks like i'll be running all sundown amps in the near future. I'm looking for forum recommendations for a nice Loud sub that can produce nice lows off a single Sundown SAZ-1500d. Currently my top pick is an RE MX 15 im nt really interested in the Fi BL, but i did look at it as a possibility, and i looked at the TC 3000 but seems they are kinda wishy washy about having things in stock or not. Price is about 700 dollars to work with for a single 15

I am a man that plans ahead. I'm planning on building a SS1-2 car next year and my plans include 4 saz-3000d's and 2 subs. I have many choices but what subs are really going to be burp happy seeing 6000+ watts rms? Some subs i'm considering are: IA DP 21 (if wayne harris doesn't shoot my idea down as it's technically within the rules) Fi Btl 18"s Nightshade 18"s Hope for a Mach 5 SPL 18 PAP wmd^2 I'm looking for efficiency as well as the ability to take a 3-6 second burp. For bass race I would run a saz-3000d to each coil at 2 ohms vs. the strapped to each sub at 1 ohm. Any other suggestions, I know I'm getting ahead of myself but I'm looking for options.

I need help finding out what sub or subs I should be putting in my car. I have a camaro, and I am able to put a 5 cubic ft box in my car and I currently dont have much power as an amp. 750 bridged at 4 ohm. The RF 500/2 Where I work I get discounts on Alpine's and RF. Thats why I am currently running 1 12" P3 in 2.5 cubic ft. sealed box. I was orignally going to put two P3's or 2 Type R's in but from what I have heard from you guys thats not the way I wanna go. I am on a limited budget of 500 bucks unless I can sell my old school memphis 500D amp and my Rockford.(I hate being a poor college student lol) I am after some clean bass. Not so much spl...even though I like ev…

Here is what I have: Kenwood DNX-7100 Audio Control Matrix Audio Control EQS Boston Acoustics ProSeries 6.0 (front) Powered by US Amps USA-4300x @ 3Ohm Bridged. According to the O-Scope, I am getting ~460w per bridged channel @ 3Ohm (unclipped) Stock rears power by HU (2) Eclipse 12" SW8100 Dual 4Ohm Powered by US Amps USA-1000x @ 2Ohm stereo According to the O-Scope I am getting ~630wpc @ 2Ohm stereo (unclipped) The boxes the subs are in are "not much more" than 1^3 sealed, gross internal volume. Going to build a small sealed box with a 12" sub powered with my Sundown SAE1200. More for sound quality than spl. Been looking at these two. SSA DCON 12 and Sundown SA-12. Will the DCON hold up when driven with 600w ? I think it's rated for 300. Anyone have experiance with either of these? It looks like the Icon 12 would be a better match for this amp, but it is priced a bit higher. Let me know your opinion.

Hey guys, I'm finally biting the bullett and putting some bass in my 2012 Mustang 5.0... It has the shaker 500 system, but I def need more thump. My available dimensions are 38"W x 15"H x 11"D Those are the Max dimensions for the space I want to take up. It calculates out to 2.7ft^3 using the max dimensions. I am trying to pick between 3 10's in a sealed box, or 2 12's sealed, or one 12 ported.... I initially wanted a single 15 sealed but I just don't have the height as my MAX height is 15" for the box. I will be powering it with a Hifonix bxi1610d (1600wrms@1ohm). I have been looking at 3 10w3v3's, or type-r's, as those can both be had fairly cheap online. Any ot…

Hi guys, Im new to this forum so i hope i put this thread in the right place. I have 2 10" Kicker L7's in my truck that are getting power from a Hifonics Bx1605d in a sealed fiberglass box I started noticing the the one on the right is acting a little funny and buzzing a little bit. i took it out the other day and realized that it has a rip in the coil. Its on 04 model so it is decently old. I called Kicker and asked if they do repairs and they told me no but i could send it and $210 in and they will send me a 08 model... i can get the 08 models off ebay for far cheaper... my other one is fine but this one sounds horrible.... Hey everybody, Currently Ive got a Image Dynamics ID12v.3 in a 1cuft sealed enclosure powered by and Alpine M500 in my Subaru Impreza. I find myself wanting just bit more impact. Im curious about an IXL 10 in a sealed enclosure... What do you guys think? Could it do it? What kind of power would be needed? 1000watts? Will more power but less cone and less XMAX be able to do it? Anyway just looking for experience and opinions on this. Thanks!

I want to upgrade from a JL 12W0 getting 250 watts rms from a Boston GTA1005 in a Dodge Challenger coupe. I would like more trunk space, so any enclosure over 2 cubic feet will not be considered. The GTA1005 will not be replaced, it puts out 250 rms into 4 ohms and 400 rms into 2 ohms. I was considering the following but will certainly entertain other ideas. Thank you for your opinions and advice. 1. JL stealth box- JL 12W3- 2 ohm 2. 2 Sundown E8s in either ported or sealed. Plan to remove the rear 6 1/2" stock rear fill and fire subs through the rear deck into the cabin. They'll be getting 200 rms each. 3. Single JL 8W7 firing through the factory cut out in rear d…
