Hello Everyone, I have had an Infinity Reference 1260w in a sealed box powered by an RE Audio DTS 1000.1 subwoofer in my vehicle for over 6 months now, and I have decided to upgrade. I purchased another of the subwoofers, and attempted to install it. RMS Values of 1260w's = 300w @2ohm DTS1000.1 = 560w For some reason that I can't determine, it isn't playing as loud/well as before, much less louder as it should. Is this because my amp is too weak? I am attempting to wire it down to a 2 ohm load, and to do this I have run the speaker wire from the amp to the first sub, then looped it to the 2nd. AMP + ---> sub #1+ ----> sub #2+ AMP - ---> sub #1- ----> …

Well I've had the sub for a few weeks now, it's on a crescendo bc2000d. I've noticed after about 2min I can reach back and feel the dust cap and it's pretty warm, if I keep playing like it like that it just stays that temp and I never smell coil... What I'm wondering is, is there a certain temp the coil runs at with the new motor? Is it still breaking in causing it to be a little hotter? Help me out y'all, I don't won't to melt this beast haha

I've decided on a FI SSD 10" for my sealed application. Will be running two of them off an AD2200d. Trying to decide whether or not the cooling option is necessary. I'v decided non of the other options are really necessary but would appreciate input if someone thinks I'm mistaken. Daily driver, not super loud all the time but I like to rock out when I feel the need. Thoughts?

first off I'll just say nice forum.. I've been lurking for a while.. but anyways.. a while ago I bought some used DD DDC6.2 and they didnt come with a manual.. They wouldnt fit in my old car but my new car they should fit no problem but I am a little confused how to hook up the crossover. looking at it there is + IN - (I'm gonna assume that is where I hook the wire from the amp to) the confusing part is how to hook up the outputs 1) W+ 2) 0dB 3) -3dB 4) - just to make it easier Ill say a) woofer + b) woofer - c) tweeter + d) tweeter - the easiest way to explain this will be just to match things up I'm gonna assume 1 goes with a

Hey guys! I received my Hovoc 15's 2 days (Thanks you Brian) ago and installed them yesterday. DAMN!!!! Thats all I can say lol. I had 2 Diamond Audio d3 previously and they were great. They hit pretty hard but didnt hit the lows hard enough for me. I had a Mmats 2000.1 amp powering both subs and the d3's couldnt handle it when cracked up, they started to smell like smoke after playing them hard and long. Overall they are great entry level subs, nice quality, and they hit hard. now for the havocs, out the box I knew these things was going to be a beast, and they are. After I installed them I rode around for a couple of hours just playing different songs and instantly thes…

I have a 12" D2 in a sealed prefab box that is about 1.35 cuft afetr displacement. I am running it off of a Memphis PR1000. The subs sounds good but I think it could sound better and get a little louder. Right now it gets a little too "boomy" for my tastes. Here are two box types that I have been considering, please help me decide. The first box is 2.0 to 2.3 cuft sealed. The second box is about 2.0 ported to about 27hz. I don't want to be too loud but I would like some good output form this speaker while still sounding very good. Could you give the the good and bad of each box and maybe compar them to each other. Oh yeah and it is going in a mustang if that helps. Thanks

Once again this might be a dumb question ... I think I am mostly just confirming what I already know: I am piecing together components for a new system in my VW CC. I plan on getting the Image Dynamic CTX65CS comps rated at 100w RMS - 200w MAX. I was also planning on the new Kenwood 5 channel amp which put out 80w RMS - 150w MAX. Perfect for the ID comps I thought. I recently did learn about the ZED Leviathan 6 channel amp. This amp looks awesome! Although I am on a budget, it looks very worthwhile to spend a bit extra and get this amp over the Kenwood. The Zed amp is rated at 150w RMS. Don't know what the MAX power is on the ZED. BTW anyone know what the bridged power i…

So I was looking at my new Crescendo Audio CCX65's and I noticed 2 possible issues I'd like feedback on. Issue 1. One of the crossovers is loose in its case and rattles around and can be moved around inside the case by pushing or pulling on the block. The other one is rock solid. Will this cause any issues other then an annoying rattle? If not I will just open the case and adhere it down like the solid one. Issue 2. One of the mids is not centered. I am not sure if this will rub or not during use since its not like these things have subwoofer excursion levels. I pushed the cone up and down a bit and didn't see or hear it rub. But I have a damping factor of about -6. So I…

Hey guys, I am looking for a design for a 12 inch subwoofer box. The thing is that it has to be with kerfed port and flushed driver, 1.75 cub feet for a SA-12 tuned to 35hz. The closed thing I was able to find were these two but no kerfing and the second one is a bit bigger than needed(double baffle will be just redone as flush mount). Does anyone have any already made ones or can help with redoing these? If it was not a kerfed box I would just put another sheet on top for flush mount but it has to be on the inside and that will mess up the net volume. I am just new to all this... Thanks! http://www.soundsolu...all-ported.html http://www.soundsolu...all-ported.html

Ok, before i purchase these, let me know if you think it's gonna be loud enough and reasonably par sound quality. The sets i've chosen are TOTALLY different so you might go wtf for a sec as i even did when i made these choices, hehe. Front stage- 6.5" components Rear stage- 6.5" midbass drivers Chosen- Front - Alpine Type X Reference Rear- Audiobahn Midbass Driver Why? I am running 4KW of power, normally about 2-2.5 for longterm daily. I just need something louder that doesn't sound like garbage basically, nothing spectacular that just makes your heart stop quality, nothing like that. I have a Sundown 100.4 already. I was looking at the reference and Pro line of these Typ…

Hello i am in the market for front stage, ive been drooling over CDT for years and finally wanna make the leap and buy some, please give your opinions, ill be using (2) sa-8's.....would you rcommend a 3 way CDT set consisting of a 6.5" / 4" / 1" on a sundown 125.2, or would you recommend i do a 2 way set which would be a 4" / 1", and a separate strong CDT 6.5" midbass, >>>point being do you think ill realy need a strong 6.5" midbass with only 8" subwoofers, or a 3 way comp set with slightly less power would be sufficient?

Hi, im new. LoL hooray for introductions. Anyhow, I currently have the following: 1 12" JL 12w3v2-d4 1 12" Alpine Swr-1242D 1 Kenwood KAC-7202 At this time, I love having both subs but can only hook one up at a time. I drive a GrandAm, and its a pain in the ass to try to fix any boxes between the wheel-wells. Ive only had success with one box so far, and that was the ThunderTC enclosure I had for my 5500's before I sold them. I have two seperate sealed boxes for each, and want to try to place them in both corners of my trunk, but wire them to the sub to provide the most bass possible. Either one works great in parallel, but when I do that and bridge it, the amp runs VERY …

Ok I bought an rd sonance last year for my girls car. I didn't install it for 3 4 weeks after recieving it. After maybe a week of playtime it started cutting out and if I pushed on the cone it'd start back up so I figured it was a bad tinsel lead. Then one side of the coil died off completely so I ran it on one coil for awhile and it was fine until we decided to introduce it to a wall socket lol. Now I have a rd super paper weight lol.. Is it worth a recone or should I just sell the motor n basket if possible?
