Currently have pioneer 9900 headunit, sundown 100.4, morel supremo tweeters and sea excel w18ex. Want to cross the seas at 1200 and morels at 2200. So i want to get another speaker to fill in this range 1200 - 2200. What would be the easiest way to do this? What would i need, external processor? Will i need another 2 channel amp? Also what are some good midrange speakers. ranging from $100 - 250 for a pair. Would be in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Not completely sure of install yet.

I am going to make my first attempt at a fiberglass enclosure for a single DCON 10. It will be right near the ideal 1.25 cu. ft. But it is a stealth install in a side well in the hatch area of my wagon. I actually use my cargo space. The question comes in terms of ports. I would like to go with aero ports for ease of use. My box won't be very deep so port length will be difficult to attain and keep tuning in the low 30's. What are some thoughts or recommendations? Could I go with Two 2" aeros? Final length would need to be about 12 total inches so two 6" long ports? A single 3" would need to be about 15" long and is not possible. Would two 3" ports be better?

All right im usually roaming around the caraudio.com forums, but have been browsing here for awhile.... now im hoping someone here can help explain how my subs are blowing cause i cant figure it out. i had 2 dd 1508's hooked up to a Saz1500d, both Svc 4, so 2ohm load ~800wRms, Set the gain using a multimeter to a little bit below the voltage it should have been at for 800w to try to avoid any clipping from the amp. The first sub stopped working without any smell any or any heat even felt on the sub, both of these subs are sealed so there should be no over excursion problems, and they are about 50w under RMS. Now i rebuilt the box for a single 8" since i still had one of t…

I recently have started the search for a crazy spl set-up . Along the way I stumbled upon these subs called SoundSplinter . Always being one to give anything a look , I decided to investigate . I was plesantly suprised at what I found . What seems to be a quality sub at an even better price . So that is why I came here . I am thinking of going with either 2 or 4 15's . I will be powering them with a Directed 2400D . I am most interested in the RL-p 15's . Does anyone know if my 2400D would run 4 of these monsters . I am currently running two MTX 9500 15's in my Focus ZX3 . I am looking to use this as my daily driving set-up . Since this system is stupid loud as it is , I …

Hello Everyone, I have had an Infinity Reference 1260w in a sealed box powered by an RE Audio DTS 1000.1 subwoofer in my vehicle for over 6 months now, and I have decided to upgrade. I purchased another of the subwoofers, and attempted to install it. RMS Values of 1260w's = 300w @2ohm DTS1000.1 = 560w For some reason that I can't determine, it isn't playing as loud/well as before, much less louder as it should. Is this because my amp is too weak? I am attempting to wire it down to a 2 ohm load, and to do this I have run the speaker wire from the amp to the first sub, then looped it to the 2nd. AMP + ---> sub #1+ ----> sub #2+ AMP - ---> sub #1- ----> …

  18. i have 2 infinity reference 6x9's hooked up to a 40x4 sony 4 channel amp, they are loud as hell but have no bass but if i turn up the bass on my cd player it distorts like crazy, the only way they sound good is if i put the balance either all the way to the right or all the way to the left. but in the middle, no bass. What should i do to fix this problem, ive tried alot of stuff already.

I've been trying to find a set of component speakers with good sound quality and that can get LOUD...if thats possible. I've been looking closely at two sets: -RE Audio XXX 6.5s *Power Handling: 150 Watts RMS *Impedance: 2 Ohms -Pheonix Gold RSD 65cs *Power Handling: 60 watts RMS *Impedance: 4 Ohms Ive seen many threads that promote the PG's but im just wondering if the RE's would be a better buy? The RE's are quite a bit more expensive...but also have a higher wattage. Thanks!

I blew one of my mids (Cadence CWM-6). I'm pretty strapped with cash, so I'm either looking at getting a set of the PG RSd comps or getting a pair of MLI-65's and run those with the current Cadence crossover and tweeter. Not sure how that butchered combo will work though, the Cadence rep I contacted wasn't willing to share crossover specs so I have no idea what they are. Also, the Cadence tweeters are very bright for silk domes and I heard the MLI-65's have great midbass but their upper midrange performance isn't very pronounced, so they may not do too well with a bright tweeter. Any opinions?

  24. i have a set of bravox carbon fiber comps and a set of coaxials i was thinking bout grabbing another pair of coax's and putting them up front with my comps. i can mount midbass in door and tweeter on a pillar or in kickpod with coax or coax in the door and comp set in the kick panel. (best spot for tweeters? kick or high up on a pillar?) i was planning on running the front comps active but if i can't due to this setup i prob won't care since it'll be easier to do this and prob louder. my main reason for more speakers is i am guessing that i will not be able to hear music over the bass and i would like it somewhat close to balanced (2 18in XXX) i was wondering if it is a d…
