I have a PDX-1.1000 and I would really like to try a Sundown sub for the first time. Can I run the 1.1000 to a single SA10 in a ported box? Will it handle all the power from the amp?

Im planning on getting the sundown SAX 100.4d and running them to some alpine SPR-60c in front and SPR-60 in rear. Will this work out? I dont know too much but will this amp work with these speakers?

I have a pair of Infinity Kappa 60.9 components. The left tweeter fried after a week. I cannot figure out why. I was feeding them around 80 watts and they seemed to shine. Anyway I am looking to replace the tweeters with something better. I need something large to fill the huge 2 3/8 inch mounting hole from the infinitys. and it needs to be 4 ohm. I am going to cross it over at 3.5khz. Please help me find something. My budget is tight. I cannot go over 25 bucks a pop. I found these and they seem to fit the bill. How do you wire a 15" IXL to a 1 ohm load? neg-neg- neg on amp and pos-pos- pos on amp?

My friend has a 12" Phoenix Gold Tantrum-X subwoofer. It is discontinued. he bought it from some one for $40 in a sealed box with an 800w Boss Audio amplifier. I believe the subwoofer has a problem because we hooked it up to 2 different amplifiers and it did the same thing. (The amps were properly hooked up and set correctly.) THE PROBLEM: When you start a song the subwoofer will work like normal, but when the bass in the song becomes quiet and there's just lyrics and music the subwoofer will stop working all together. i want to get rid of my little 10" type-rs and go with one 15" sealed theres too many options out there, so to help me narrow things down.. whats the general favorite for SQ, 15", and sealed to spec?

Building a little setup for my dad, its going into a volkswagen jetta, already has an alpine mrd-500 in it, so im basing my sub decision around that power. He listens to oldies, classic rock, country...so i was thinking something along the lines of a pair of sundown e8's, sundown sa-10 etc....any other recommendations are welcome. Also thinking either a low tuned ported box, or 4th order bandpass. Hes missing a bit of hearing on the low end scale so this could make up for it.

ok, the difference in sound is pretty obvious, but whats the technical difference between making a sq and a spl sub? i mean if all speakers and subs work by the same principles, how is one more accurate than another? just always wondered that , thanks

Okay so, I'm getting this gcon 15 and i always here my uncle nem talking about the 15 and the surface are of the the cone and the area of space in the car and stuff like that but what does it all mean i dont understand. like he says his 2 18 xcons would be perfect in my van because of the room for the sound but can someone explain to me what that means?

Hey you owners, lol. I need to know what is the mounting depth of JUST the magnet itself. The website says 8" for the whole subwoofer but i am designing my wall and need to draw out the magnet so i can properly run allthread without running into the magnets. So... just the magnet itself, what is the depth? Thank you.

Is a true 1500 watts too much for a single Fi Q 18" to handle with the BP option? I was trying to decide between going this route, or going with a dual 15" setup with a 2500watt amp...I'm leaning towards the 18 since it'll be cheaper and more electrically friendly. (vehicle is a dodge magnum)

Ok so i have a 10" alpine type E laying around and i have a 66 bug with an amp missing a sub. So i got this crazy idea of building a box for the sub to put in there. My question, I only build ported for personal reasons but i want to know what should i tune the box too? I'm giving it 1.5ft^3 internal space not counting sub or port. I was originally going to tune to 32hz, i like low bass but i know its only a 10 and not the best, actually i have no experience with alpine. I can only compare it to my RE Audio Sr10 which wasn't to bad with a 1ft^3 box tuned to 30hz in my other bug. What would you tune this sub too? powered by about 200wattsrms. first off, thx to all who helped me. i believe ive reached a decision..for now. i have a 02 ram single cab and dont wanna sacrifice sq. therefore, i will remove my center seat in order to create more clearance and air flow to acommodate a Crystal CMPx2 12. my front stage will consist of Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS comps powered by a Zed Audio Gladius Burr Brown amp. Questions: 1)does ne1 think that a 12 is too much for my application? cause my friend insists it is and 2 8's r best for sq but i dunno bout that. 2)has ne1 used ne of these products? 3)What do ya think of this combo? thx in advance

I am still up in the air about what i want to do with the limited amount of space i have available in my car. i remeasured everything and i realistically have about 3.5 cu ft gross to work with. I am pretty decided on building a nice baffle and facing into the cabin with subs. not sure if i should port forward or into the factory 6x9 openings in the rear deck. If i port forward, i am not sure if i should go with aeros or slot it. if i did it through the rear deck i guess that i would have to do aero ports. I have 2 Fi ssd 12's that gave up on me finally. I was wondering what would be the best way to get them reconed? I have a Memphit The Mojo MC200D Amp it is 2000X1 at 2 ohm rms. Would I want to get the dual 2ohm or the dual 1ohm to run to this amp?
