Subwoofers / Speakers

So I got my 2 sets of 6.5s for my envoy the other day in the mail. But the weather sucks andi have no garage or expertise in installing then.... so anyone around kokomo with a garage and tools feel like helping me out??? Lol

So as many of you know I have built several car systems, but I have never had the pleasure of using decent speakers for my front sound stage. So I am looking for suggestions. The vehicle is a 2003 Honda Element, Speaker locations as of this point will be factory. (6.5" door, tweeters in a-pillar). The car does have the integrated amps and sub, but I will be removing all of that eventually. The build will not take place for a while, I'm just starting to plan my build. I will be looking at running an active set up. I am also willing to take advice on amps. I currently have no equipment that I will be re-using. This will be a fresh build. I am going over my system and trying to fix things up for more quality at higher volumes. at present i have a 2 way setup bi amped with an alpint 1" silk tweet and a 10" crachendo. so here is what im thinking right now: im looking at hertz speakers as we sell them at my new job and they sound amazing. so i can pick up a 2 way hertz (either 5.25" or 6.25") and get a new 2 channel amp for them. then i can run my 10" crachendos as mid bass speakers with high/low pass filters on my present amp. does this sound like it might be a good way to build a 3way setup with what i already have or would buying a already built 3 way (6.5, 3.5, tweet) from hertz work out better do you …

Ok so im really wanting to build a system that will play the lowest of notes loud, I currently have 4 21`s, well 2 wardens and 4 ddp's, but its really hard to get all that cone area in a wall, well at least with the 4, plus I snapped two of the neck joints on the dp's do to mechanical stress on the lows. Ive been leaning towards 6 fi sp4 18's, 6 ssa evil 18's, or 8 sundown x 15's, but im havin a real hard time deciding what to use, as well as what box I should go for such as do I want 4th, 6t, or just ported. So I've made it pretty obvious that I was ordering a 10" ICON from SSA for a while, but haven't really put up my impressions of it yet. Well, just so happens that I got her in this week and have had a couple days now to play with it. But first, the pictures! Was too heavy for the wife to bring in...lol All concerns about this sub not being packed gingerly and braced to survive UPS' typical mishandling can now be dispelled. Hello, I am looking for a 12" subwoofer to put into a ported box. I had a Alpine type s in a sealed box but after turning it up while listening to bass cannon it busted. Right now I am looking for a new sub but am completely lost as to what brand I should buy. I am using a kenwood x700-5 its a 5 channel amp that pushes 500w rms @2 ohms. I am kind of on a budget so it can't be over board. I was thinking $175 max for the sub alone. My friend is getting a RE Audio SEX12D4 for $140 I personally I have never heard anything about them. Hello, I am currently putting together my plans to build a box for one fi audio ssd 12. I am going to build a ported box and I was wondering about bracing? I will only be pushing 500 watts to this sub but will be upgrading to 1000 rms in the future. I was wondering if putting 45's in the corners would be enough or if I need something more. I keep reading mixed responses about 45's in a sub box. I also am having a hard time understanding the whole port length thing. Any help is always appreciated thanks!

Hello, I am currently in the market for a sub woofer box for a Fi audio X 12 sub woofer. I have been trying to get the specs right with RE audio calculator but it seems I am in need of help. I have room for a H 14" x W 22" x D 22" sub box. I want it to be ported and tuned @ 33Hz I will be powering it with a amp that pushes 500w @2 ohms. Thank you for all of your help. Since it has been upgraded a while back I know it will handle alil more power.just wondered how much,even tho its still rated the same.just wondering what some of y ou guys have put them thru

How many of you run SSA subs?

I have a skar 1500.1 and im going to buy two 12s, I just cant make up my mind. Everything ive read says the sa's works wonderful and they would match with the amp I have. The xfls take a lot of power but some people have ran them with lower power and have had success. I m just stuck. these will be the last subs I can get for quite a while so I want to make the right choice and unless my amp takes a dump I wont be replacing that either. In the search's ive done most people say xfl over sa's but most people also feed them more power. Advice appreciated.

Soon I will be getting an SUV, and I need some ideas. I want some loud bass thats impressive but not like competition grade i guess. I was wondering if maybe 2 Gcons or Icons would be better in that box, or maybe two sealed SA-15s in a different box. Or one sick 18 sealed, just help me out here. Im trying to save space and dont want a huge box. Just send me some ideas please. I just want the most bass for my space, and money.

Am trying to find a good set of coaxial speaker for my truck. I replaced my factory speakers with ome kicker DS6.5s and they sounded better than the factory but am looking for a lil more sound. Am looking to spend around $80-100 a pair. I just want to replace not to install pods, etc. I will be running them off of my pioneer head unit (50 watts per channel). I would like a lil bass from my door speakers because it is lacking big time currently. Any suggestions on a nice pair? Thanks

I had an SSA Icon 12 in my car for about a year on 1200w RMS. The sub was in a 2.5ft^3 box tuned to 33 hz and it was definitely the most musical sub i have ever listened while dropping an insane amount on lows. I sold the sub a few months ago, ordered an Xcon 15, and built a 5ft^3 box tuned to 33hz again. The sub arrived yesterday packaged inside a crate that was inside a box lol. This thing must not have moved an INCH. The suspension on this sub is STIFF. Most definitely the stiffest suspension I have felt. I recently purchased 2 10" q10 and wanted to know what would be the best box for them to fit in a 2012 ram quad cab

I currently have a Chevy Cobalt LS Coupe and am looking for a new set of component speakers to place in my doors that are $250 or less. I am going to place the tweeter very close to the speaker about 4-6 inches away and the woofer will be in the stock location. I am going to deaden the doors, at a minimum around the speakers, and I want an equal listening experience for passenger and driver so the tweets will be aimed at the center console at listening level. i have 99 f350 reg cab long box and would love to build a system but dont want to loose comfortablity i would like to put some shallow subs in a box behind the seat 3-4 shallows dont know what brand and or will it sound loud and nice any help will be apreciated

Looking for decent/good SQ and impressive loudness/output. Planning to install 2 12's of one of these types of woofers. Often listen to rap/hip hop, dubstep, and metal. I will be pushing both subs with a Hifonics Zues 3200.1D I have 5 cu ft to work with for both subs, 2.5 for each. That being the max enclosure, it may vary with each sub and tuning.. Anyway can anyone help me with the best choice in woofer?

Alright, I've got the itch, I can't live with crappy sound in the Miata. I'm not going to do anything about road noise but I'm going to add some deadening to the doors. The plan is to put a 7" tablet, a miniDSP and a PPI 900.4, and do a simple 2-way install, without a sub. Midbasses are going to be a set of Adire Extremis 6.8. I'm already using a set in the Jeep, they dig down deep enough for what kind of listening I want in the Miata. Plus it's a pity to let my extra pair collect dust. As I stated in another post I ordered the IA3.4 so I'm looking for clear loud sounding speakers I listen to rap and salsa and u want to be able to hear the trumpet and guitars nice and clear.
