Subwoofers / Speakers

The SI website says that it recommends 3.5ft^3 tuned to 27hz for the 15" and that the RMS is 975w. Would it be ok in a 4.06ft^3 enclosure tuned to 34hz running off of a solid 1200w rms? Oh yeah....wuddup Denim?!

Well, this is my first post here, and I didn't see anything on audioque over here, so I figured I'd share my experience. I just got my LW8 last week, and built the box DJ recommended for me, albeit a little lower tuning than recomended. First impressions running off 350ish wats from the bazooka amp is impressive. This little 8 (weighs about 15lbs) can really move some air. And it sounds good too, I was surprised but this sub is fast but low and not too punchy. Even with just one (i've got another on the way) it shakes everything in my car and everyone thinks i've got a 12" sub back there. Well, if you guys got any other questions give me a shot, and i'll answer asap…

I know what you're thinking, but it's not the typical noob question. I'm wondering how the coils are wound on a DVC speaker/sub. Are they wound with one above the other, is one on top of the other? Jimj and i were discussing this earlier, maybe someone here will know. here's the thoughts so far... One above the other is wrong cause this is just a split coil, if there's no gap then the coils are touching shorting and acting as one coil, not two One wound on top of the first--They'd touch still The only thing is maybe they have some sort of thin insulation, but under the heat conditions i don't see this as being very effective

i currently have a 12" rlp sealed getting 600 watts, but it just isn't quite loud enough. I found about three other alternatives but I'm not sure what is the best choice, whatever I get, I would get a new amp to properly power it. Sorry if this is the wrong forum, But I don't wanna screw up my subs. There may be a simple solution to this. I might just be making it harder than it really is. On my old Kicker 1200.1 amp, there was a set of RCA signal outputs. I ran these to my amp for the door speakers. Well I don't have this on my IA 20.1 Any suggestions? Or it as simple as running a couple sets of RCA splitters? Another question: I want to run 2 subs off this amp. My subs are dual 2 ohm SI Mag 12s. I know how to wire the sub coils (parallel) But do I run them to 1 connection at the amp or 2?

So Jake and I rigged my sis's ~1.4 ft^3 enclosure and Hifonics Z600 amp up in my car with the BM 12" in it tonight. The amp was something totally different, the sub was positioned different, the box was different, etc - so NOTHING was the same as what I'm used to. If i have 2 pairs of passive x overs, tweeters and woofers running off of two amps, would going active running 4 woofers and 4 tweeters and the same two amps be as loud?? i set my amp to give my sub 1000w but the amp is 1200w do you guys think it can take 1200w in a sealed 2.6ft box without any problems?

Well, one of the coils on my mag are blown. Shortly after putting my sub from ported to sealed, I hear danggg danngg when the bass hit hard and I tested both coils...one reads 2 ohms, the other reads anywhere from 14-22 ohms. How much does it cost to get this fixed ? Ive had it for 2 years now, I bought it when the new mags were comin out and they were logoless (no it wasnt stolen, I have receipts from paypal where I sent Nick the $$). Can anyone help? Thanks

I know you guys are thinking about how my radio has anything to do with SI...well, not having a radio for 4.5 weeks tends to drive an audiophile crazy. I used my Ipod with my Shure E4c ($299 retail) earbuds, but I was still missing it big time. Today I got my HU back and had it installed...well...the installer halfway did it and I had to finish it. ok so i got my sub running and i love it but there is many settings on the orion 1200d amp what do i set my crossovers at? my box is sealed at 2.65

Hello there. I`ve 2x PowerBass XA-3000D amps. And I`m really happy with them. Got a few questions though. I know they can be loaded down to 0.5ohm. Do they kick out any more power at this ohmage? And what is the power figure @ 14.4v?
