im looking to buy a ssa icon 10" and was wondering which coil to get, copper or aluminum?

i was wondering can 18'' subs keep up with songs with fast notes and bass and be accurate like 15's? what i mean is not just rap songs with long drown out bass like booooom..booooom...(lol) but like some rock songs which are fast..so im just wondering if 18's will miss the beats?

I want to upgrade my midbass and highs. I am not sure what to look for with this. I just want something more clear than what i have now. I plan on getting a 100.4 or 50.4 or 125.2. One of those sundown amp. I was looking at the infiniti kappas, I know someone around here that might sell me some really cheap, I guess i just need some input on what to look for when buying a set.

I currently have 2 Sundown E-12s in the Trunk (Dual 4ohm) wired down to 1ohm on the amplifier. (1700rms at 1ohm) I am going to pick up my old Kicker CVR10s (Dual 2ohm) and put them in my backseats... Is there ANY way I can hook up the 2 10s to the amplifier for added bass? It would only be for a day or so, but just for fun. I just want to know how I should wire the 2 10s to get the most out of my amp. Thank you!

Sup fellas, i think i might have a big problem, was inspecting my subs (2 fi btls 18"s) and noticed tiny tears on one subs spider, 3 of them 2-3 millimeters ea. when playing the subs hit hard, who knows how long they've been there, but i know i dont want them there, could i use some epoxy or super glue as a temporary fix, i know that they might need reconing (bought them the end of 08) but they both still bang hard plus they the old ufo model so i dont know if they even make recones for those any more. cant get new subs till after christmas so i need help.

OK, I know that this topic will piss off 95.9999% of you guys, lol. But am using a AQ2200D and wanting to know which sub would be most suited for its intended purpose. Am deciding between the IA DR or DP. Am just wanting to know which would be most suited with the power. Am using either for a daily driver that sounds good but can get loud. Thanks

I have a PDX-1.1000 and I would really like to try a Sundown sub for the first time. Can I run the 1.1000 to a single SA10 in a ported box? Will it handle all the power from the amp?

I'm looking for replacements for the Tang Bands (see sig)....recently blew one The TBs were decent but I would like to upgrade a little. Prefer a smooth laid back sound..definitely do not like overly bright spitty sounding tweets. Setup is active with alot of tuning ability. I have read alot of good things about Seas Neos and Rainbows (can't remember model). Would either of these be a good match with my DLS mids? Also please list a source if you can. Thanks.

Im planning on getting the sundown SAX 100.4d and running them to some alpine SPR-60c in front and SPR-60 in rear. Will this work out? I dont know too much but will this amp work with these speakers?

TS-W2504SPL and Fi SSD 10" how do these two subs compare? if you only have exp. with one of them put your 2 cents in.

OK folks. I am getting ready to drop a sizeable order with my freinds at Powerbass, but am wondering if anyone that has used the XS subs, & swapped to the XXXL subs, what they thought of the change. I have a customer that I did 2 XS15's, & wants to try the XXXL's, & I don't want him to spend the $$ & not get as much outta them....so let me know what y'all think....please no lip service, if they are better great, if not please be honest...as we are talking about $800 of this guys money (I would be selling him the XXXL for $400 each)

I have a pair of Infinity Kappa 60.9 components. The left tweeter fried after a week. I cannot figure out why. I was feeding them around 80 watts and they seemed to shine. Anyway I am looking to replace the tweeters with something better. I need something large to fill the huge 2 3/8 inch mounting hole from the infinitys. and it needs to be 4 ohm. I am going to cross it over at 3.5khz. Please help me find something. My budget is tight. I cannot go over 25 bucks a pop. I found these and they seem to fit the bill. I am looking at doing a blowthrough in my truck (yeah I know...its going to be expensive and a lot of work.) I'm not sure on the subs I want to run yet though. I'm looking at either 2 BTL's or 2 RD audio Alpha V.2. The sizes I'm looking at are either 18s or 15s. I want it to be loud at low hertz but I also want it to HIT hard and not just be loud with no punch to the bass. I have 4 Crossfire VR-1000D amps (putting out probably right at 4000 watts but will be more with the Big 3 and more batterys). which would fit what i'm looking for better?

My friend has a 12" Phoenix Gold Tantrum-X subwoofer. It is discontinued. he bought it from some one for $40 in a sealed box with an 800w Boss Audio amplifier. I believe the subwoofer has a problem because we hooked it up to 2 different amplifiers and it did the same thing. (The amps were properly hooked up and set correctly.) THE PROBLEM: When you start a song the subwoofer will work like normal, but when the bass in the song becomes quiet and there's just lyrics and music the subwoofer will stop working all together. Going to run Kicker subs the 6.5 and 6x9 Im not sure to go with ? The two that I am looking at is the Kicker K693 (6x9) and the K65 (6.5) and the other is the Alpine SPR-694A (6x9) and SPR 174 (6.5) and they will be run off a amp.

I am running a 12 inch SSD sub sealed in a 1 cubic foot box. I was wondering what any of you fill your sealed boxes with? I remember reading about polyfil and stuffing and am just curious on what this does and how it effects the sound.

Building a little setup for my dad, its going into a volkswagen jetta, already has an alpine mrd-500 in it, so im basing my sub decision around that power. He listens to oldies, classic rock, country...so i was thinking something along the lines of a pair of sundown e8's, sundown sa-10 etc....any other recommendations are welcome. Also thinking either a low tuned ported box, or 4th order bandpass. Hes missing a bit of hearing on the low end scale so this could make up for it.

ok, the difference in sound is pretty obvious, but whats the technical difference between making a sq and a spl sub? i mean if all speakers and subs work by the same principles, how is one more accurate than another? just always wondered that , thanks

Okay so, I'm getting this gcon 15 and i always here my uncle nem talking about the 15 and the surface are of the the cone and the area of space in the car and stuff like that but what does it all mean i dont understand. like he says his 2 18 xcons would be perfect in my van because of the room for the sound but can someone explain to me what that means?
