Trunk is small. Box can't be any taller than 12" so I'm limited to the 10" icon. I love deep bass, but SPL is going to be my number one concern. Ride is a 2005 mustang and I'm going for a DD setup, so I don't want a one note wonder. I'd plan on doing the recommended 1.35 cubes tuned on the lower range of 27-33hz. I'm hoping this would be a loud setup. Hopefully louder than a ED 13av.2 sealed in 1 cube (my previous setup). Height and width of box are 12x33 leaving depth to be whatever it needs to be for the optimal box.

Plan is to run one of these in a ported 1.0 box, My amp; Arc Audio 900.6, will put out 550 wrms bridged @ 4 ohms. How much of this power can I safely run to this sub?

First post here so excuse me if this is a dumb question. I have an RE SEX 12 in a sealed downfiring box with a Hifonics series 7 Zeus bridged at 4 ohms. The setup sounds great and hits all notes effortlessly. This sub started popping after a day or two at high levels though so i adjusted the gains way down. Will a sub with a higher power handling capacity help this or am i doing something wrong?

As the topic suggest what's the max wire gauge that will fit in the zcons terminals ? Also do you have to run fuses from your battery while running the wire back from the battery ? Thanks in advance going to order all my wiring and fuses tonight. Also the ebay dealer backed out so I purchased another zcon w cb dust cap. So atleast I know I'll have nothing to worry about sub wise.

Ive got two 18" death rows in my truck atm. Lately its been annoying not having a window to look behind when i back up and changing lanes can get scary since i cant really see anything to the right of my except by looking at my right side mirror. Recenly i have been offered a 275 cash plus an 18" death penalty for my 18s. Ive been considering it since it would be nice to have a back window again. My question comes down to would this be a pretty good trade?

So I have been rebuilding my system over the past month and have had the subs in and out of the enclosure testing the fit and where I need to go to move forward. I noticed today that the top slug, AA Havoc 12", is mis aligned roughly a 16th of an inch from the others. The coil isn't rubbing anywhere within normal stroke, but I am concerned about this causing issues later after they are installed. Here is a pic. Do you think I should just send it back and have it repaired? Will it be ok? Will it effect performance? I have never had this happen before, so any help would be appreciated. Chris

I have a 12" D2 in a sealed prefab box that is about 1.35 cuft afetr displacement. I am running it off of a Memphis PR1000. The subs sounds good but I think it could sound better and get a little louder. Right now it gets a little too "boomy" for my tastes. Here are two box types that I have been considering, please help me decide. The first box is 2.0 to 2.3 cuft sealed. The second box is about 2.0 ported to about 27hz. I don't want to be too loud but I would like some good output form this speaker while still sounding very good. Could you give the the good and bad of each box and maybe compar them to each other. Oh yeah and it is going in a mustang if that helps. Thanks

I am slowly getting tired of listening to my bootleg setup while i wait for the peerless hds tweeters to become in stock. Are there any other tweeters that anyone recommended/ had experience with that they feel would be a good 2 way setup with the sea excel mids. The peerless seemed to work well because they are capable of being crossover relatively slow since the excels have heavy breakup around the 1200 area. From all the research and reviews ive heard about the peerless they seem almost untouchable and i want something that is similar quality and performance and also price range. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated because Madisound said another month on backo…

I've been trying to find a set of component speakers with good sound quality and that can get LOUD...if thats possible. I've been looking closely at two sets: -RE Audio XXX 6.5s *Power Handling: 150 Watts RMS *Impedance: 2 Ohms -Pheonix Gold RSD 65cs *Power Handling: 60 watts RMS *Impedance: 4 Ohms Ive seen many threads that promote the PG's but im just wondering if the RE's would be a better buy? The RE's are quite a bit more expensive...but also have a higher wattage. Thanks!

ok so im starting to think that i should move up into class street b, just because there is more competition aorund here for that and im sick of not competing against anyone (that is except like a single 12" type r), so right now i have 1 12" fi audio bl in the trunk of a cavalier, tuned to 34 hz on 1800 wrms. what i want to do is be very competitive in street b for db drag. however i really want it to be a ground pounder and hit those lows, so i was thinking a 28-30 tune for daily and a 40-42 hz tune for comps. but what i really want to know is which ten inch subs should i go with? the ones that pop into my head are fi bl, fi q, dc sumthing, or audio que hdc3. i dont…

Hey you owners, lol. I need to know what is the mounting depth of JUST the magnet itself. The website says 8" for the whole subwoofer but i am designing my wall and need to draw out the magnet so i can properly run allthread without running into the magnets. So... just the magnet itself, what is the depth? Thank you.

I found a pair of the red stamped steel basket MTX road thunder twelves next to a dumpster outside my apartment the other day; while not being as loud, they sound considerably nicer than my lanzars; they seem to be an ancient model, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of finding a few more for a low power install for my coworker? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=293-352

Welp, ive decided to ge rid of the chitty MDF look in my truck but all the funky bends in my ports is cutting back on my potential SPL and probably is adding a little noise at high levels though i cant detect it because of rattleing....so ive devided, new enclosure time while im sintalling some SPectrum and Damplifier in my truck along with some open celled acoustical foam (cheap stuff, not Second Skin's stuff) foam between the back metal and the plastic interior panel to help trap waves in that little area and padd the smacking between the metal and the plastic. ive told you all that because i want to eliminate any possible port noises and gain SPL by having the least am…

Hello Everyone, I have had an Infinity Reference 1260w in a sealed box powered by an RE Audio DTS 1000.1 subwoofer in my vehicle for over 6 months now, and I have decided to upgrade. I purchased another of the subwoofers, and attempted to install it. RMS Values of 1260w's = 300w @2ohm DTS1000.1 = 560w For some reason that I can't determine, it isn't playing as loud/well as before, much less louder as it should. Is this because my amp is too weak? I am attempting to wire it down to a 2 ohm load, and to do this I have run the speaker wire from the amp to the first sub, then looped it to the 2nd. AMP + ---> sub #1+ ----> sub #2+ AMP - ---> sub #1- ----> …

I'm redoin my setup this year and want to see if any of you have any thoughts about my new setup just in case i may have missed a possible setup design.. So, i will hand the specs over to you guys and tell me what you would do with the following- 4,400w of power = 2,200w @1ohm per amp Possible Internal volume = 15.5 Cubes! Displace 1.5-2.00 cubes for port = 13.5-14.0 cubes plus sub displacement. Baffle room - room that is capable of fitting a select number of subwoofers- 16 8s 8 10s 8 12s 4 15s 2 18s (note this is baffle room, you must account for internal required volume for proper suggestion) Price limit - $900 I pretty much already have my mind made up, just wondering…

what are people getting into their doors ? i dont mind some cutting and whatnot, but i'm not looking to make a whole new door skin. i had hoped to get a set of 6.5 comps and a mid base in the door. the comps look easy enough , but where could i put the mid base ? would it be bad to put the mid base in the back doors? or under seats ? any pics would go a long way for me. thanks

So I have an alpine v12 707 amp 2 channel which does 70rms at 4 ohms. Im just generally looking into components and these seem legit. Has anyone heard them? Are they any good? They will be for my front stage and I'm not sure if I'll be running a rear stage yet. Also, will 70rms be enough for them? rated at 85rms. I just dont want them to distort once I turn the volume up. (obviously not full blast)

I'm all new to this car audio stuff so I'm a little lost. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and i bought new speakers for my front and rear doors. my fronts are 6x9 Boss speakers and my rears are 6.5 Boss speakers. I wanted it to be louder and not to sound like crap when i turn up the bass and treble. It now sounds good except it's the same volume limit as the stock speakers. The rear ones are 400w a piece and the fronts are 350w a piece. Shouldn't the volume be able to go a lot louder than my stock ones? is this because I have a stock head unit? Should i get an amp? Thanx.
