Would it be ok to temporarily run my bl 15 (dual 2) on one voice coil at 2 ohms from a kicker 300.1 until i get my t10001bd. or will this blow the sub from lack of power.

So I have an alpine v12 707 amp 2 channel which does 70rms at 4 ohms. Im just generally looking into components and these seem legit. Has anyone heard them? Are they any good? They will be for my front stage and I'm not sure if I'll be running a rear stage yet. Also, will 70rms be enough for them? rated at 85rms. I just dont want them to distort once I turn the volume up. (obviously not full blast)

  7. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Elemental Designs 15" SPv.2's. I'm unsure of what box to put it in. I have it slapped in an old box and it's about 3.05cf@32hz with 36sq inch slot. On icix I've heard anywhere between 3-6cf and anywhere between 22 and 40hz. The only specs I know is the RMS is 1200w and it has 28mm xmax. Think the FS is 26hz? It uses a TC9 motor and standard 12 spoke basket. I contacted ED and they told me they never released the T/S for the sub, and that's some BS! I'm looking for some LSQ, hit hard around 30hz and not sound out of beat on rock, but loud on rap. I was recommended 50-55sq inch port, but that seems as if it wo…

What would be the best enclosure for 2-12" IA Lethal Injections? What's the difference between ported and bandpass? I've seen the response curve of both. The bandpass seems to peak about 35hz and drop about 60hz peaks about 40hz and holds it. What is this telling me? Will the manual for the subs tell me the preferred box dimensions for these.

  12. Right now I have 2 RF T110D4's in sealed box fiberglassed to floor under back seat. I want to up grade to get it a little louder and sound better. The box now is about 1.9cuft I think. I will tear this out of course for new box. Is there anyway to jack up the seat brackets a couple of inches to allow more volume to the box? And still make it look good, and functional. I've always wanted 12's but was told they wouldn't fit. Is there any way I can get better option's with leaving the seat back there? My amp right now is a RF T10001 power series. I will upgrade that if I need too. Is there any customizations I can do to allow me to get some good quality 12's under the back s…

  13. Looking for decent/good SQ and impressive loudness/output. Planning to install 2 12's of one of these types of woofers. Often listen to rap/hip hop, dubstep, and metal. I will be pushing both subs with a Hifonics Zues 3200.1D I have 5 cu ft to work with for both subs, 2.5 for each. That being the max enclosure, it may vary with each sub and tuning.. Anyway can anyone help me with the best choice in woofer?

i wanted to mount another set of tweeters in my door just to even out my h/u as i have my mids in the rear running off the rear outputs .... i was looking for a pair of tweeters under $100 ... they are running off the h/u so they will not be seeing over 20 rms ... i dont know if it makes a difference but all the tweeters up front are silk dome ... should the pair i am looking for be silk dome? ... also they need to not stick out so much as when i had boomer mcloud cut a hole for the door they cut it so close the the tweeter hits when the door closes ... it dosent tend to be a problem if the tweeter does not protrude to much and has some form of protective grille over it .…

I'm all new to this car audio stuff so I'm a little lost. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and i bought new speakers for my front and rear doors. my fronts are 6x9 Boss speakers and my rears are 6.5 Boss speakers. I wanted it to be louder and not to sound like crap when i turn up the bass and treble. It now sounds good except it's the same volume limit as the stock speakers. The rear ones are 400w a piece and the fronts are 350w a piece. Shouldn't the volume be able to go a lot louder than my stock ones? is this because I have a stock head unit? Should i get an amp? Thanx.

I recently acquired 2 Crescendo PWX 10's and was looking into adding one to my car to help over all output. I have three ideas for setting this up. First the speaker/s will be put in a custom fiberglass box to fit behind my center console in between the back seat. The speaker/s will be firing towards the front windshield. I have Type R 6.5 components up front and coaxial 6x9's in the back. The addition will be powered by a 2 channel MTX RT2100X amp. Here are my three ideas. 1. Bridge the amp on 4 ohms and run a single PWX 10 at 280 wrms and count on the Type R tweets being enough to keep up. 2. Run a single PWX on one channel at 85 wrms and a pair Selenium St200's runni…

Its very rarely I truly want a specific subwoofer. The spl-15 has done it.. I really like the 12, but wanted bigger. I like the idea of supporting a company that will support you and be willing to help advice like mach-5 does. And at the prices Marks doing the spl-15 for its crazy not to pick one up. It looks to be in the same league with $600-1000 subs. So guys I really want Mark to go ahead with the build.... SO what I'm really trying to say is buy a damn woofer Thanks, Joe

hi, my freind that i wound up selling my xxx componot set to told me that they are making a mechincal type noise whenever they get past half volume. And he has them powering off of a sundown sax100.2 and set for 20volts at 2 ohms (200watts) now he left me them to mess around with them and i got them to not make the noise if i turn down the equalizer ( it's an alpine 9887) so was it just the speakers reaching their mechincal limit or should i tell him to start looking for new speakers. i already emailed re audio but have not gotten a response yet. thanks

Say you have 2 4ohm DVC subs that you want to wire to a 4 ohm load on a mono amp. Could you wire each sub so the voice coils are in parallel, so each sub is wired to 2 ohms, and then treat them as single voice coil subs and run them in series to get a 4 ohm load on the amp? Don't think its hard question, just one i don't know the answer to. And this is definitely a place to learn
