now i've never built a box or system with inverted mounted subs, what does this do? does it affect anything other then theres less displacement for the box? can you still port say 2 12 ssd that are inverted?

just wondering if anyone has played with them yet, and what they thought, I wanted to ask outside of the RF forum, I usually have access to all the new RF stuff, but not really anymore

What 15" sub would be a good daily sub but can also be loud in spl with 1500 watts?

I currently have two Obsidian Audio OA12 V2's running off of 2 Audiopipe APSM1500's strapped @ 1 ohm. I used to own a Fi BTL 12" UFO motor sub before this system but on less power. The guy that currently has my old BTL is wanting to trade straight up for my two Obsidians. I think my Obsidian setups is a bit louder than the BTL was, but I really liked the way the BTL sounded, and it's able to handle the power I'm currently running better than the OA's. I'm considering the trade, but I'm looking for other opinions on whether or not this would be a good trade or not.

I installed 2 MB QUART 6" speakers 6 months ago in my front doors. I rescently heard a cracking noise coming from one of the front speakers in my integra (Left Door). When I removed the door panel the speaker stopped playing but if I apply a little pressure to the cone with my finger it starts plaing once more. Is it possible that the coils are faulty or is it something else.

hey there.. i have made some mistakes on my box and now i am attempting to fix it. i need to know the displacement of an aq hdc3 15. side note: my box is unintentionally tuned at 30hz.. re-tuning will be at about 38hz.. will i hear a noticeable difference in audible sound after the re-tune??

I have 2 MJ18ms and yesterday i noticed it wasnt geting low as it used too, I noticed it yesterday night around 1 am and it was freezing cold it was ice on my roof, and I had to tug at the door to open it I played songs that would shake the entire car and it just wont do it. I had to put sub out to 15 (max on my alpine) to get it to do anything like it used to I normally have it at 8 whats going on Is my amp dying or what? cant be my ears, becuse I can feel my system

Im planning to do a wall in my car but my wife says I have to wait until we have another car (we have kids.) In the meantime I have dimensions of 33Dx31Wx16H. With .75 MDF that leaves 7.79783 cubes total. I want to run one Xcon 18 but I dont know what the mounting depth is. Obvioussly Ill be mounting it sub up so my D will become 16". I assume 16" is deep enough but? After port and sub displacement I should have about 7 cubes and want to tune to 32hz. is 7 cubes at 32HZ. too much for 1 Xcon18?

Is it possible to build a fiberglass enclosure out of your whole trunk? I have 2 subs that need 6cft each but my trunk only holds 13cft .Right now my box only has 3.2cft each chamber.so it about half of the correct spec. it slams but it the biggest box i could jam into my trunk. looking for alt to keep both subs.

my friend is looking to build a box and install a sub under the back seat. we don't have the dimensions of our space but we were wondering what a good sub would be that is 5" or less deep. were thinking one 10" or two 8" subs in a sealed box. or one 8" in a ported box. any recommendations would be very appreciated. we will be able to fit a 1cuft box according to the stealth box that is sold on crutchfield.

so what is the difference between the fi ssd and fi q. i am looking for a good daily driver and heard good things about both subwoofers.

So i have a friend giving me 4 RF 12" punches tomorrow in a big sealed box. I'm wanting to put it in my car just to see how it sounds. I'm pretty sure the punches are 4 ohm DVCs. Anyone have a good diagram on how I should wire these for minimal impedance? It would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone is curious on how they perform, I will shoot a video and post it on here.

if you take a fully loaded btl D1 coils and wire up one autotek mean machine 1500d to each coil would it put each amp at 1 ohms since its a 1 ohm coil?

hey everybody I came across a great deal on 2 Cerwin Vega Stroker Pros 15s and was wondering if they're any good? I was looking at the specs for a box and seems to be significantly smaller than the size of the BTL...anybody have any input?? thanks, Andrew

Just looking for a sub that will perform well in a sealed enclosure, and take6-800 rms. willing to spend around 200,shipped. everything is pointing me towards it, but i want to double check before i pull the trigger. Thanks in advance. Dave

well i still havnt decided on what i want to get in my truck. i drive a 03 toyota tundra access cab and will be removing the back seat for the box. i plan on doing the big 3 and getting a kinetic battery to help the electrical. as far as music, i listen to everything so i want the sub to sound well and i want it to be loud. something that can play all ranges of bass and be loud, not only certain spots. sorry if i dont make sense i dont know how to word what im thinking. i was thinking of a single 15" and saw the ssa 15" xcon. would this be what i am looking for?

AQ recommends what seems to be a pretty high tuning of 38hz. does anybody with these subs tell me if they can still dig pretty deep notes (i listen mostly to rap, but i also watch DVD's in my car) thanks

What happened to the box plans that once were available for download? I am wanting to build a standard single DCON 10 enclosure for my Fi X, but I can't find the plans anymore.

currently i have 5 sx 15s and 5 a7s right.... Well Im thinking 6 sx 15s and 3 hk4000s from ma audio whats everyone think? 2000-2200 per sub be ok?

SPL Tuning In most vehicles resonant frequencies have little effect. It tends to be the general transfer function which dominates. Your best bet is to try to map this by measuring the response of a box in and out of the car on a meter. Getting 8-10 dB extra isn't easy, and without a meter it would be very difficult indeed as testing can't be done as effectively. If you can find the right note to play with the current setup (I'm assuming you're not sure of this at the moment) you can typically gain about 2dB, it can be frightening how fast it drops off from the peak value in some cases. Well I have my sub and everything with that taken care of and now im to the door speakers. i want a set of 2 way components but am kind of in the dark as to what to get and what to power them with. Im a just outa HS so i dont have alota money but i can always come up with it. I guess in the end is what can i get thats ganna give me the best bang for my buck?

Hi, so I'm doing a build of two icon 15's in my dodge Dakota crew cab, I have one set of amped hertz hsk components in my doors and just got a second set and wondering if I should put.a second set in the front doors or the second set in the rear doors?
