As the topic says I just got my first SD12 and had 2 questions First: rms is 500 watts is that total or per coil? Second: do I have to break the sub in or just fire it up and go to town? Thx for the input guys

now i've never built a box or system with inverted mounted subs, what does this do? does it affect anything other then theres less displacement for the box? can you still port say 2 12 ssd that are inverted?

Anyone know what the cutout is for the 22" baskets?

I just got my pair of new sdc2.5's along with my aq1200d amp. I want to wire it to 1 ohm and i believe the picture shows how to do it. However I'm very confused on the size of wire i need to use. I Believe i should use 4 gauge for the power and ground but what size should i use from the amp to the woofers. Not sure what size it is that the amp even takes for the subs. Does anyone know what the recommended size is or what the largest size the speaker outputs on the amp take. One more question what is the proper way to bridge the amp. Does the CDT Eurosport 07 component set live up to the hype. The retail on the 3-way component set is crazy. I'm debating getting me a set of these or if I should stick to Sea's Reference, Dynaudio, or Focal. I'm looking for a serious front stage (3-way fully active) and wonder how these CDT's Euro's compare the the above mentioned. I listen to jazz, blues, rock, and rap. I currently run a set of Boston Pro 6.5's and I think they sound very nice so how will these CDT's rank up? Thanks for all opinions.

Well, one of the coils on my mag are blown. Shortly after putting my sub from ported to sealed, I hear danggg danngg when the bass hit hard and I tested both coils...one reads 2 ohms, the other reads anywhere from 14-22 ohms. How much does it cost to get this fixed ? Ive had it for 2 years now, I bought it when the new mags were comin out and they were logoless (no it wasnt stolen, I have receipts from paypal where I sent Nick the $$). Can anyone help? Thanks

Hey guys, well i am thinkin of buying a 2006 g35 coupe which has 7.8 cubic ft of trunk space and the system i have is 2x12's in a ported box. dimensions are 1.75ft x 2.75ft x 1.42ft = 6.84 cubic ft. i would have a little under a ft of space left over assuming it would fit at all. i also have to somehow fit 2 sundown amps in there as well...is this the stupidest idea ever or should i take a stab at it??????? if it all works i would have 4000watts pumping through the car.

This is a new one to me. So it got cold here and I turned my car stereo on about a week ago. The right midrange in the kick sterted to make a static/crackling sound. I immediatly turned the radio off until I could check it over. I checked my wiring and everything is secure. I turned the radio back on and the problem is not there anymore. The speaker then worked and no static. Two weeks go by and its randomly doing it again. I am at a loss. Ive checked everything but the impedance of the driver. Who knows maybe its on its death bed. Im planning to do a wall in my car but my wife says I have to wait until we have another car (we have kids.) In the meantime I have dimensions of 33Dx31Wx16H. With .75 MDF that leaves 7.79783 cubes total. I want to run one Xcon 18 but I dont know what the mounting depth is. Obvioussly Ill be mounting it sub up so my D will become 16". I assume 16" is deep enough but? After port and sub displacement I should have about 7 cubes and want to tune to 32hz. is 7 cubes at 32HZ. too much for 1 Xcon18?

Okay I just installed a pair of 12s in a ported inclosure and I get this popping sound coming from the sub. Today I was sitting there looking at them trying to figure out what was happening when the sun got down low enough and shone on the face of the sub, it was then that I saw the face of the sub pop out in the top corner, It just made a little bubble and created the popping noise. Has anyone ever seen this?????????????????

well I got a new job doing 12V at a local shop, Nick you know it, Freemans at the lake, so I am going to use that to get my install finished. I had a pretty cool idea for a trunk. Here's a side view of what I was thinking. It was done using Paint so its kinda crap, but this is a general side cutout of the design. The woofer will be mounted inverted towards the rear of the trunk and angled slightly (40 degrees or less) and the two MOnitor MK I 2.70 will be mounted towards the front of the enclosure flush with it. Hey, I'm currently running a Soundsplinter rli-8 (s4) driven by a Sundown 100.2. I just dropped in the Sundown last night (got it on the sale) and wow what a difference compared to the Rockford Fosgate 325.2 that I was running. Loud and culeeeen! Since this is just an 8, of course it has trouble going down low low with any real punch. Not a complaint, it's a freakin 8 and I can't believe what it is capable of. So I'd like to drop in a Soundplinter RLP D2 w/ a Sundown 1000D. Question: Will I be better off just letting the 12 do all the work, or could I get louder by running the 12 from say, 20-50Hz or so, and the 8" up to 80Hz or so? I'm not looking to get rid of the 8, …

So Im going to rebuild my wall, and im going to do 4 15s this time. I have 2 Fi Q 15s right now. But I can sell them and get SSA subs. The amp I will be running is a DD m3a clamped. So my question is should I stick with Fi and get 2 more Qs or should I sell them off and get 4 SSA Icons? just post your thoughts and opinions, the box will have a removeable port and be about 16 cubes before port and im guessing 14-15 after the port is in. I will be looking forward to upgrading the stock components in my 2008 xb here soon. Stock has a 6.5 in the lower part of the door and a tweeter in the door in the section where the side mirror is. I know from reading post that you should go listen and pick for yourself but the problem is I live in a small town on the coast of Oregon and the only place in town that has car audio.....well their stuff is at least 5 years old and 2x the price of retail.
