Subwoofers / Speakers

I've decided to do a wall in my Blazer for 2 FI BTL 18's. They will be powered by a Concept 2410 on each. My question is for those experienced with walls. Is there a loss of deep bass by porting toward the front vs. toward the back hatch? I'm really just wanting to know what will happen as I have never tried a wall before. I'm sure that there will be an increase in air movement inside the vehicle. Thanks for your help. Kevin

i just passed on a jl audio w7 13.7 for 2 fi audio 15 btl's... i have a 2004 grand prix and i want know if i can put both of them in the trunk or will it sound better if i go with just one with a large box... i want to get loud and low, and be heard from very far away, what size should i make my box to get the best sound out of this speaker and what size should my port be???

is it ok to use speaker wire from canadian tire on a btl 15 dual 2 or a brand company off the internet

Hey everyone. I am getting ready to order equipment for my new boat. In my last boat I ran two FI Q 12's with the high qts option in 1 cube sealed fiberglass enclosures (after displacement) with 1200 watts rms each. With that I have two questions: 1) What subs would you recommend (I have been looking at the Xcon, Q, and Exile Big, but am open to anything). I have a Exile 2500.1 amp that I plan to use which puts out 2500 watts at 1 ohm. 2) What would fit best in the space provided (info below)? Okay i have a question. how do i wire a sub in parallel and how do i wire a sub in series. and how does it effect it in ohms law. Like if i wire my 4 ohm parallel that puts it at 2 ohms. so thats what the amp output would be at 2ohms. So if i have 2 4ohm woofers and i wire them both parallel that would make it 1ohm correct?

I just Ordered a pair Of Mach5 MAW-15's I hope they are as awesome as I have heard ppl say they are. All I need now is to save up and get the SAE-1000D. I'll be sure to post Build Logs as I get everything together. Cant Wait

Found someone selling a pair of Punch HE2 RFP3208s for cheap, and was thinking of picking them up to toy with since Ive never used 8s before. I cant find anything about them though except a lacking manual that doesnt have all the normal specs in it. Basically just 250w RMS, 11mm xmax, and box suggestions. Anyway, they are BNIB, and Im guessing kind of rare since I cant find anything on them. Has anyone heard or used them before that can comment if they are worth trying out?

i've heard a few recommendations on box specs for the d2 12" original claw basket 12"... how would it fare in a 1.63 cu^3 tuned to 36hz?

So - I have been askin about 6x9's because I thought I blew mine up - however - come to find out , one of the channels on the stereo actually went - somehow the rear left channel is messed up - I switched to my other deck , and everything sounds beautiful again ... thanks for your opinions everyone , greatly appreciated. Has anyone else ever had a problem like this ?

If I have D1 12" AA Mayhems and I hook them up to the sundown 4500D by running the voice coils on each sub in series(which makes each sub a 2ohm load) then run them parallel to the 4500D would that give me a ~1ohm load to the amp? Or am I missing something here? Ive been told by many different people who are very well versed in audio that I need D2 and D1 for that amp. Any insight or help? Also the electrical is big 3, 220A alt, 3/0ga run to two 3100D batts, then hooked up to the 4500D.

Since i'm trading my Bravox to Ryan i need to get something new. I've got a 2 channel Px600.2 JBL amp which is 180x2 and i have a 06 Dodge Ram reg cab. I think i can get up to almost 3.5" of depth with a 5/8" baffle to mount them. They will need to be able to keep up with 2 Eclipse Sw8200's getting 650w each. The Mpyre set looks pretty nice and they are based about 30 minutes from me so i may be able to get them direct. Any other ideas?

Hey, I'm currently running a Soundsplinter rli-8 (s4) driven by a Sundown 100.2. I just dropped in the Sundown last night (got it on the sale) and wow what a difference compared to the Rockford Fosgate 325.2 that I was running. Loud and culeeeen! Since this is just an 8, of course it has trouble going down low low with any real punch. Not a complaint, it's a freakin 8 and I can't believe what it is capable of. So I'd like to drop in a Soundplinter RLP D2 w/ a Sundown 1000D. Question: Will I be better off just letting the 12 do all the work, or could I get louder by running the 12 from say, 20-50Hz or so, and the 8" up to 80Hz or so? I'm not looking to get rid of the 8, …

I don't know what to put in my dash, it has stock 4x6 speakers, I want to try to do a 4" comp set or something like that, or should I just replace with coaxs? I know they make plate speakers but I don't know which way to go. I want a good clean sounding front stage with alot of bass, and crisp clean highs too. Help please.

So Im going to rebuild my wall, and im going to do 4 15s this time. I have 2 Fi Q 15s right now. But I can sell them and get SSA subs. The amp I will be running is a DD m3a clamped. So my question is should I stick with Fi and get 2 more Qs or should I sell them off and get 4 SSA Icons? just post your thoughts and opinions, the box will have a removeable port and be about 16 cubes before port and im guessing 14-15 after the port is in.
