hey there.. i have made some mistakes on my box and now i am attempting to fix it. i need to know the displacement of an aq hdc3 15. side note: my box is unintentionally tuned at 30hz.. re-tuning will be at about 38hz.. will i hear a noticeable difference in audible sound after the re-tune??

Okay I just installed a pair of 12s in a ported inclosure and I get this popping sound coming from the sub. Today I was sitting there looking at them trying to figure out what was happening when the sun got down low enough and shone on the face of the sub, it was then that I saw the face of the sub pop out in the top corner, It just made a little bubble and created the popping noise. Has anyone ever seen this?????????????????

my friend has a dual 4 ohm old school cerwin vega stroker that he has told me i can get for $100, the only problem is that i metered the voice coils and they are reading 3 ohms apiece. what do you guys think, does it still have some playing time left or should i not purchase it?

i have power acoustik ovn1-4000d amp, 2200watt at 1ohm should i run the mayhem 12s or are any of the other subs capable of handling the amp

This is a new one to me. So it got cold here and I turned my car stereo on about a week ago. The right midrange in the kick sterted to make a static/crackling sound. I immediatly turned the radio off until I could check it over. I checked my wiring and everything is secure. I turned the radio back on and the problem is not there anymore. The speaker then worked and no static. Two weeks go by and its randomly doing it again. I am at a loss. Ive checked everything but the impedance of the driver. Who knows maybe its on its death bed. a friend of mine from work told me he came across a really nice pair of 10 inch kicker solobaric sub's the model they made when they first came out and he was wondering if these subs are good for sq ?

i was just wondering....i haven't thought about audio for a while but i got to thinking today....what's the best box for my application? Right now my Mag !2 us un a 1.9 tuned to 29 hz box...sounds great.....but it would be cool if i didn't take up so much space in my trunk....so i was thinking sealed....but the thing is i only got about 450 watts going to it from the rear channels of a RF 800.4....i figured the ported box was best but i was wondering with the power I have what ya'll have done. I currently have a Polk Audio SR 124 SVC 12" subwoofer. It is not particularly loud but sounds great. I am more concerned about SQ. I plan to redesign my trunk and would like to go with 2 or 3 10's. I plan on a false floor construction in my 2003 Mustang Cobra trunk. The subs will be facing up in the middle of the trunk and powered by a Zapco DC reference 1100.1 amp with about 850W @ 4ohms. Source unit is a Pioneer AVIC N3 navigation system. I currently have a Polk Audio SR6500 component set in the doors powered by a Zapco DC Reference 1000.4 amp. would this be plenty of power for 2 D2 12s. My Tantrum's birthsheet says it is 1507 watts. would that be sufficient for the two?

Well here's the story, I purchased this sub off my cousin who said that it was originally a RE 18 that he blew then he sent it to FI to be rebuilt with soft parts(not sure what this is). I then purchased a SAE 1200d to power it. Once I got everything installed I had no sound out of the sub, so I started troubleshooting the best of my abilities. I still couldn't get it workin so I took it to a audio shop who said he tested the system and it was the sub that was bad, he was unable to tell me why. A friend of mine has just sold his 3 sets of Focal 6.5", and he wants to run P A speakers to be louder. He runs an Infinity amp (4 x 125 w rms @ 4 Ohms) and don't want to change amp or to add one more. He was going to get Beyma speakers (the pro series I think) but he wants to know what else can he get ? 2 sets of 6.5" speakers for the front doors. Nothing in the rear, except his 18" Soundstream XXX in a big ported box. He want something that can be loud but with good midbass. The tweeters will be a set of Beyma available locally: they get sooo loud ! He looked at the sundown neo pro, but never listenend to them. Is it a good choice over the Beyma ? So, I have a newly acquired ep3 (Honda Civic SI, 2002). Audio system is completely stock. It has a set of tweets 1'' above the dash, and two pairs of 6.5'' speakers in it. I believe i should be getting a component set, and leave the rear stage for fill, and only get fronts. So then I could get some nice stuff, but mind it has to be within the power range of the CS60.4. I'm new to component sets, although, I know rainbow has some nice stuff. Hi there, im looking to get a new 12" sub sealed and focusing more towards SQ than SPL. Im pretty well decided on the Fi SSD 12" with the copper coil. It seems to fit the budget and sounds like it will do what i want it to. Im currently using the Mach 5 audio MAW-15 and want to change it up and regain a little trunk space. The amp im running is the Alpine MRP-M850 so it should be enough for the SSD. What would be the benefit of getting the Q over the SSD, they both look pretty similar except the Q would take more wattage which i dont have anyways. Thanks

The box will be between 4.6-5 ft^3 @ 30-33 hz, it will include 2-12" subwoofers (subs up, port in front) powered by a Sundown Saz-2000d. i got 50' (overkill but i got it cheap) of speaker wire for my new components. i ran my power on the left and rca's on the right. which side sould i run the speaker wire on? does anyone ever leave the crossovers close to the amp so they dont get damaged? it would require me to run x2 wire tho... my components are pg 6.5" rsd's. amp is kx250.2 (mounted behind rear seat)

which would be louder and which would be more accurate between.... 1 12" d2 in a ported box to specs with a jl 500/1 or 2 12" d2s sealed with the 500/1 any help or comments would be appreciated! thanx Tom
