Subwoofers / Speakers

Hi there, im looking to get a new 12" sub sealed and focusing more towards SQ than SPL. Im pretty well decided on the Fi SSD 12" with the copper coil. It seems to fit the budget and sounds like it will do what i want it to. Im currently using the Mach 5 audio MAW-15 and want to change it up and regain a little trunk space. The amp im running is the Alpine MRP-M850 so it should be enough for the SSD. What would be the benefit of getting the Q over the SSD, they both look pretty similar except the Q would take more wattage which i dont have anyways. Thanks

i have 2 SA-8s in a 1.2cu ft enclosure tuned to 35hz. the guy that built me the box did really good work but the only thing he did i didnt like was only put one terminal on the box and i was thinking of inverting the subs so i could wire the subs better. any cons to inverting these subs in a box with these specs? thanks.

Do the 3" Legatia mids have grilles available? I need to find something to fill these holes left by the 3.5" DLS Ultimate Iridiums the previous owner had and these seem to be one of the only good fits

besides diff prices on the amps, would the 1st way (wiring them in parallel AND series) affect the speakers any? #1 #2

hey guys! Here's the dealio. I currently run an 18" BL tuned to 35Hz and am looking to upgrade. Its in a tiny tiny box, (maybe 5 cubes) and I know I need more space, but i cant make anymore in my trunk so I'm switchign it out! Here's what i have to work with. Sundown 1500D for my amp around 4.5 cubes, maybe upto 5 max if I need it biggest sub size i can fit in there is a 15" I don't really have a budget...maybe $400 max for the sub(s). Goals for this are to have a little bit more lower end output (will be tuning to around 32Hz for new box) What are some good sub reccomendations?? Looking for a 12" sub that can handle 1500w daily like champ and be fine in a slightly smaller ported enclosure tuned in the lows 30's. Looking for mainly SPL right now. This is just for daily, no competitions will take place. Looking to keep the price under $700 for the pair if possible. Need to buy them new. 12" XCON? 12' Nightshade? 12" BTL? 12" HW? I like good customer service and subs that have good information available about optimal enclosure sizes.

I can't seem to find another place to buy a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12.2 anywhere but a local shop and from sonicelectronix. Anyone know of where i could pick one up for a decent price? Sonicelectronix wants $189, plus $31 in shipping fees. I am looking for the newest model, which is this one if anyone knows where to get one it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I did some searching all over the net and here and really didn't see anything much on MB Quart stuff. I am checking out components to pair with a sundown amp in the future and MB Quart kinda caught my eye. I know they were good in the past when they werent owned by maxxonics and have heard mixed reviews since their merge. i currently own a FI SSD15 that i have in the back seat of a 2006 tundra. i dont have enough room for an optimal box so the box is currently about 2.5cuft tuned around 31hz. i have mad a ton of different box designs and i currently can not go any larger on the box so i was woundering if i would gain volume by reconing to a ssd12? any thoughts or advice?

Whats going on .. So I just wired my xcon 15 back up today noticed a slight coil noise... Anyone close to south Chicago for a recone.. Or anyone do any thing nice with the xcons besides psi ... And has anyone reconed through ssa if so wondering around how long I'll be waiting for it to come back thanks

Not a bad smell but just something strange; best I can describe it is the smell of a fresh built, just turned on computer. My son really likes the SA8s and wants to upgrade his stereo system. Can someone help with a box design? I assume someone has done this already and has posted a box design of what they did. I've been looking but have found some crazy installs. We only want to do two subs. Ported since that is the recommended design. If going sealed does not hurt that much, then that would be an easier build. This will be our first sub project together so want to do something on the easy side. We built a pirogue so have skills. Does anyone know the mounting depth on the IXL10?

I currently have two Obsidian Audio OA12 V2's running off of 2 Audiopipe APSM1500's strapped @ 1 ohm. I used to own a Fi BTL 12" UFO motor sub before this system but on less power. The guy that currently has my old BTL is wanting to trade straight up for my two Obsidians. I think my Obsidian setups is a bit louder than the BTL was, but I really liked the way the BTL sounded, and it's able to handle the power I'm currently running better than the OA's. I'm considering the trade, but I'm looking for other opinions on whether or not this would be a good trade or not.

I would like some of you to rank these by clarity at high volume. Which are really designed to keep up with extreme bass with having to opt for Selenium, B&C, or Eminence. what would the value of a newly reconed DD 3500 18 be? brand new basket, direct connect leads, beefed up to take 2500 +

4 of my 15" recones, next to my friends 18" mt since im reconing all my mts, we blew all 4. in the process, this basket broke off the motor the voice coils. the one that is un wound came off the motor with the broken basket lol. we pushed that bitch hard..... baskets and last but not least, the motors

which would be louder and which would be more accurate between.... 1 12" d2 in a ported box to specs with a jl 500/1 or 2 12" d2s sealed with the 500/1 any help or comments would be appreciated! thanx Tom
