Was just wondering which of these would be louder. Either powered by a SAE-1200D. 2 JL Audio W3v3 13.5 subs, each in 1.75 cubes sealed or 2 JL Audio W7 10 inch subs in a Pound That Sound: Kerf Flared Slot Port Enclosure

My girlfriend has a Sundown SAE-1200D and wants a single 18 that'll pound in 4 cubes sealed. She prefers the sound a sealed setups. These are the ones that caught her eye.

Sundown Saz 100.2 and do passive with the came in the box x overs Sundown Saz 100.4 and do active ( the only thing that is turning me away is i want 200 rms @ 2ohm) Kicker Sx700.4 and do active ( see above for the turn off) Kicker sx900.4 and do active ( the only bad thing is the Price) Eclipse XA4000 and do active( 2 thing wrong not sure if the x over can run a 2 way active and the 175 watts) and if it makes any difference i am getting a pioneer 980bt for the headunit…

  6. I'm also wondering who makes the best 4" hands down? i installed an alpine head unit and i initially wanted to keep it consistent by hooking up alpine speakers, but if i could get a better sound out of it with another speaker manufacturer, then i would be pleased. I only have 2 mounts for 4" speakers and am considering adding a sub in back but would rather keep it simple. any advice? here are links to the only 4"speakers they carry http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=SPS-400〈=en&tab=Fhttp://www.kicker.com/ks_series

  7. Those who have heard the Hybrid Audio Clarus C61-2, how did they sound? Im referring to tonality, frequency extension (both high and low), general sound characteristics? I have read the review in CA&E and just looking for more personal opinions. It would be great if they could be compared against popular components like Dynaudio, Morel, Rainbow, Hertz, Focal, etc. Thanks ahead for any input

So I'm going to be in that area in 2-3 weeks - picking up a boat I purchased in Cottage Grove. Figure I would camp out in St. Cloud since it is north of Minneapolis, which means easy driving from there. Would love to hitch up with a few folks in the area. Might bring down a couple of goodies.. Best, Mark

  10. I love my 67 mustang coupe - absolutely no room in the rear seat for passengers (just too damn small), so that's where the groceries go now that my trunk is filled with SI goodness In case you were wondering, that's a Hifonics Brutus BX1000D amp for each magnum - and then there's two Zapco Reference 350 amps (one's shown, one's hidden) for the double set of SI 307's I have in the kick pods up front, and sunk into the package tray in the rear.

  12. I am looking to buy a SSA DCON 12" sub. Is there anyone in the Dallas, Texas area that sells and stocks SSA subs? I am in Louisiana and Dallas is about 200 miles from me but I am going this weekend. I have called numerous shops there and no one that I have spoken with sells SSA. One shop had an Icon logo on their website and they said they were not familiar with the SSA DCON. So, any help as to where I could buy a SSA DCON 12" sub in the Dallas, Texas area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you jonblack

I have received samples in the past and personally feel they are over the edge. Heck, 18" units are too big for many. What's your take on something like this? Best, Mark

  18. We're selling the heck out of these long-awaited amps. But we haven't had a chance to actually hear any of the 2-channel amps on any subs yet. We stock the 200.2, 400.2, and 600.2. The amps have been very, very well received. But all our sales so far have been over-the-counter sales. Haven't actually had a chance to see how they compare to say the XTA series from SoundStream that we had prior to the release of the AutoSound amplifiers. Any dissappointments or surprises with the ASA amps? Any expected availability date on the ASA 1000.1 and 2000.1 amps?

Man....I took my wall out in Oct.... Lookin at the MJ18's makes me think about putting it back in and switching to a pair of 18's just from a cost standpoint....and low power stance....makes me think seriously about it... Wonder what I could make happen with a pair...hmm....i guess i'd have to use 4 just to get a halfway decent ohm load though.... wow..............you killing me.

Well during our testing tonight we had ... a development. We tested two prototypes tonight and when we took the second prototype out the motor fell off. The prototype that survived was our mid-line prototype that we got in a few days ago. And in case I haven't posted about it, we are coming out with a mid-line speaker. They'll be available in 10's and 12's. So yeah, here's some pics. The first two pics are of the busted driver and the third pic is of our new mid-line 12.

Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone would know from experience why the HC's aren't put in sealed boxes that often. I seen on some forums people who want to put the HC's in a sealed enclosure, but then other people are like "no don't do that" but they don't give a reason at all. I searched and searched but haven't been about to get a real solid answer. I ask RE and they said that they don't sound bad but they don't get as boomy. However isn't this true with most sealed vs. ported applications. So know I am even more confused about the situation. I have 2 of the 15HC I bought from the sale if you guys are wondering. Spring break is coming in a couple of weeks so I plan …

So i have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe. My enclosure is around 3.9 cubes net at 30hz, i know its mall (mostly port... I had an Fi Q 15" dual 1 on a Soundstream Dtr 1.3400 (3400 rms @ .5 ohm/ 2200 @ 1) and metered 146.7@45hz. I got a second Q and did 148.1 wired at .25 ohm @45hz. I later dropped a BTL 18" dual 2 in the same box and now i meter 145.8 @48hz on 2200 rms. But the 18" sounds extrmely louder than the 2 Q's.. But i would expect it from a lower peak freq.? The Tahoe flexes alot more but wouldnt that make of a lower peak? Any input on this is apreciated. Thanks
