The wife has a pair of Braxton Audio tower speakers in her work out room. These speakers are lacking in low end output and the wife asked if I could add a sub woofer to her system. She uses her system for watching movies, TV, and listening to music. I have a retired pair of 12" Shiva sonotubes that haven't been used since I built my pair of IXL-18's. Long story short, both Shiva tubes have a "clicking" sound when demands are put on them. I modeled the IXL-12 in 3.5 cu.ft., the net volume of the Shiva tube, and it looks good. IXL-12 arrives. Original Shiva sonotubes. IXL-12 and 3.5 cu. ft. tube. Removal of 12" Shiva. Comparison of Shiva and IXL-12. I remember paying $…

Hi everyone. 1st, here's a quick view of my current setup. Ride: 2000 Silverado ext cab. HU: Pioneer Premier Frt: Infinity 6.5 components Rear Fill: Polk 4x6 in factory locations Frt Amp: Soundstream Van gogh 320.4 (currently only using half)(considering the other half for 8" midbass in a front console) Sub Amp: Soundstram Van gogh 800.2 Subs: 2 Arc Audio 10d4 under rear seat (sealed) I want to change from 2 10's to 1 12" I'm really pleased with the SQ of the Arc's, though I would prefer more output. I've been heavily leaning towards either the ID Max 12d2 or Diamond D9. I've just heard, from this forum, about other possible options from Fi, Si, SSA, TC sounds, etc., (le…

Who do you think makes the best component speakers for under $800 (maybe up to $1k if I have to) and where can you get them. I've been looking at making a set using CDT drivers which would be the ES-06 with the braxial tweet along with the upstage kit that has the DRT-26 tweet. I'm sure there must be many different brands to choose from but I haven't really been keeping up with car audio. Some brands I've also heard of and are considering are Focal, Hertz (no idea who sells these), Morel, and Boston Acoustics. I need a 6.5" set to go in the doors of my 350Z. I was planning on using Zed Audio's The Deuce (is this a good amp?) with BB upgrade to power the components. …

Well I get back to the house and see a package at the door and I think "sweet! The second Mag came in today!" Well I get up to the door and notice that it is not our specific box (we have all drivers packaged and shipped a certain way in certain boxes). The box is oblonged shaped with scratches, dent, and scuffs all over it. I take it in the house and this is what I see (pics below). Fedex apparently played football in a concrete parking lot with the drivers motor and then threw it in a random box with no packaging. The magnet slugs are off-center big time and there are magnet shards all over it. To boot, the surround has a puncture in it. Looks like the Blazer wil…

  9. So i was thinking of selling my 21 warden and goin with a new setup. I thought either 2 18s, 4 15s, or 6 12s but im thinkin 4 15s would be cheaper than the 12s and louder than the 2 18s. I have a 2003 trailblazer and i want to wall it at c pillar while keeping my back seats. I currently have a Crescendo bc2k wired to .5 ohm and i want 4 D4s so i can wire to 2 ohms when i get another bc2k. Id like to put 3k rms to all 4 when all set and done. The thing i need help with is deciding which subs would fit me best. I listen to rap/ hip hop mostly but also country and dance music too. I would want the tuning to be around 34hz. I have around $700 to play with but id go more if i …

Hi you guys I don't no if this is in the right section or not. But I have a deliman right now and I keep picking my brain over and keep changing my mind. Ive never built a system from the ground up but now I'm getting real into the bass addiction. Currently have 2 12" cvr and kicker 750 amp. I want more!. I have a 02 trailblazer and I'm starting from the ground up. I just bought and installed an pioneer avh-x4600bt(love it). I got 1/0 gauge and did big 3. Part of my plans for my system is to do all 1/0 runs, get h/o, xs power 3400 up front, 1 or 2 xs3100 in back(depending on what power I'm running). Now thus is where my dilemma comes into play I don't no what subwoofers t…

I have enough airspace to properly port either (2) 12"s or (1) 18" subwoofer. I would like to spend 900 or less on just the subwoofer(s). What would you choose? It will be ran on a sundown 3500D.

Hello everyone. It`s Marcos from the U.K. The only person in Europe (as far as I know) who is using the new 15" Magnums. I hope you guys can see these photos. Last time I was on here I had difficulty in doing it. Anyway. Here goes. Starting out: It looks like a house. The baffle is in. And look what`s going in it. 4x 15" Magnums 3x 6" Aeroports. The box is 20 cu.ft. Tuning it to 27Hz. Is this O.K.? Please tell me you can see the photos?

Hey guys been off the market for a while but looking into buying a new car so of course had to come back and guys your guys' opinions on systems. I should be finding myself in a B8 A4 within the next month or two and already know I'm going to want some kicking bass in the trunk. I have previously had the Fi BL 18 in a big ported box... boy did I love that thing but had to sell a few things. First off I would like to ask if anyone has ran into any issues with installing systems in the B8 A4 models. I wanted to just add a sub and an amp but wasn't sure if I was going to run into allot of issues without replacing the head unit. Second, for those of you who have gone from por…

I know a lot of you have been VERY VERY eager about the status on the up coming batch of 15's and the overall status on the potential for 8" drivers in the works.... News of both will be short coming and very very exciting...Whether it be Nick, or any of his representatives including myself, we will do THE VERY BEST to make sure you guys get wind of this info ASAP....plenty of room on any sort of pre-order or waiting list...no need to panic.... This is just a reminder that you guys don't NEED to post threads or email SI all the time about stuff...as soon as we know...you'll know...I am even more excited to hear news..and I'm doing my best to make sure you guys hear it ver…

Been a while since I've posted on here, but I still have my Fi Btl 18" on a sundown saz3000d. However, I'm wanting to try something new and perhaps smaller. I'm in a toss up between ssa xcon, icon, or fi ssd. I'm wanting to do 2 12" subs, same amp, i listen to all types of music. I'm just wanting to get more acoustical sound in the sub stage, and go with a smaller box and hopefully have some nice sounding lows with as much output as the 18", if that makes any sense. I'm also open to any other sub suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I'm going for dual 12's just gotto find out which ones for amps I figured i would get dual hifonic brutus 1500, one for each so I can run 1 ohm I'm not going to compete, but I hate the damn sound of my single 12" lanzar (yeah ) hitting the max. I want it loud, but I like the bass to be tight. as much if both as possible I like what I read on the forums about the magnum, but I have a friend competeing here, which says W7 for live
