I know the 302's are meant for off axis in door applications. Does this mean that the mid and tweet are BOTH aimed off axis? Just aiming straight across at each other, right? I just want to get this right. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Jim

First time going active and need some help with aiming tweeters. My vehicle is a JDM '12 Subaru Forester XS. H/U is Alpine CDA-9887. I've got SSA Evil tweeters in my A-pillars (in swiveling metal pods) and SSA Evil 6.5 mids in the front and rear doors. They're all being ran off a SSA IC150.4. Tweeters are on CH 1/2 and mids (x4) are on CH 3/4. Where should the tweeters be pointed/aimed? I've read several articles but they all say something different (point at the driver, point at opposite headrests, aim between seats up at the headliner, etc). Is it just trial and error? Anyone with these tweeters or helped with a system with these have any advice? Thanks. Oh yeah, …

I have two ol'skool fosgate 8 ohm 12's and one mtx terminator 12. I know craptastic, its stuff i have left over from years of being a packrat. I wanna put them under the seat in my titan. I can get a box that upon completion and displacement will be about 1.2 sealed. If i install all three of these subs in this box undivided will they fight each other or cause cancelations? I can't get enough airspace to divide the box up. I don't even know if this is making any sense.

me and my bro want to get my dad a new sub for fathers day. our budget is 50-60 bucks total. its for a 03 f150 super crew and i would like it to have a mounting depth small enough to get it under the rear seat. my dad also said he thought about making box for one that would go between the dash and center console up front. so im looking for something with a mounting depth of no more then let say 5" max. his listening preferences are mostly rock. power will be from a sony xplod amp i gave him 2 years ago that he is using to power a cheap clarion 12" that takes up too much space. the amp is probably good/clean for 300 rms at 4ohm bridged. the amp has a crossover switch, unfo…

ok i know ive bugged a few of you guys enough but before i go and drop 2000+ on a new system i want to make sure im getting something that will most defiantly be the loudest chit on the block. I am leaning way towards 2 18" btls fully loaded running off a RF t40001bd. what would you guys go with that will still maintain a decent sq and pick up lows fully without distortions.

My friend just got a 01 golf gti and wants a straight SPL sub. I told him just run a 12 since he wants to keep some space. What is a good all out SPL sub for daily loudness? His budget is $500. He doesn't care about sound. Also power will be off a 2k either dc or crescendo.

  10. I've been putting this off for too long just researching so i forced myself to finalize a box and i did today so there's no turning back now! This is what i have to work with and YOU will decide what goes in my car Box specs- EXTERNAL- Height - 17.75" Width - 36.25" Depth - 17.75" Double Baffle Design INTERNAL GROSS - 5.06 cubes Amps - 2 AQ2200Ds or 2 Opti2000Ds I won't buy the amps until i know what ohm load i'm working with. Both capable of producing 4,000w at 1 ohm or 2 ohm so their's your start. Port spec - This is port displacement based upon power used. IF you pick a design that can't handle 4kw, then port will take up less volume allowing more NET volume. 4KW- 0…

Hey guys, I'm new to these forums. Hopefully you are all enjoying your holidays. =) Anyways, I won't lie. I know little-to-nothing about car audio. I've been starting to pick some stuff up over the course of this past week, when I decided that I would like to start looking into subs/amps for my car. I own a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, and I currently have; Front Speakers - 4x6" JBL's (GTO6427) Click Rear Speakers - Energy 6x9" 3-Way's (ENC693X) Click Deck - Pioneer MP3 Deck w/ USB (DEH-P5000UB) Click I can't complain all that much about how things sound in my car, I really don't mind them. I'd just like to put some more power (specifically bass) into it now. When I first…

Speakers: A speaker converts electrical energy to mechanical/acoustical energy. It uses a coil of wire, which acts as an electromagnet, set inside of a magnetic gap of a permanent magnet. It is pretty simple if you think about it Voice coil motivation: When a current is passed through the coil of wire, called the voice coil, it generates a magnetic field. This electromagnet interacts with the field in the magnetic gap and the voice coil moves. The direction of movement depends on the direction of current flow through the VC. Since audio is an AC waveform, current flows in one direction and then changes polarity, the VC moves either forward or backward from its point of…

Ok so i have a 10" alpine type E laying around and i have a 66 bug with an amp missing a sub. So i got this crazy idea of building a box for the sub to put in there. My question, I only build ported for personal reasons but i want to know what should i tune the box too? I'm giving it 1.5ft^3 internal space not counting sub or port. I was originally going to tune to 32hz, i like low bass but i know its only a 10 and not the best, actually i have no experience with alpine. I can only compare it to my RE Audio Sr10 which wasn't to bad with a 1ft^3 box tuned to 30hz in my other bug. What would you tune this sub too? powered by about 200wattsrms. I also listen to ALL types of …

  25. Im looking two get two new subs. What would be a better buy. 2 12" Alpine Type R subs (4ohm) or 2 12" Rockford Fosgate P3 subs(4ohm). They are being powered by a US Amps XT2000D amplifier and will be wired at 1ohm. In a sealed box. I am getting both at the same price but i dont know which ones would sound better. And im also looking at getting some new speakers, debating wheter to get the Alpine Type R 5x7 SPR-57C or the RE Audio RE5X7FR. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks
