Subwoofers / Speakers

I've decided on a FI SSD 10" for my sealed application. Will be running two of them off an AD2200d. Trying to decide whether or not the cooling option is necessary. I'v decided non of the other options are really necessary but would appreciate input if someone thinks I'm mistaken. Daily driver, not super loud all the time but I like to rock out when I feel the need. Thoughts?

I'm looking for midbass speakers for an install. Processing: more than likely a minidsp Power: will be chosen once the midbass is picked out. Midrange speakers: TB W3 or W4, so I imagine 300-400 Hz is the LP for midbass Depth: 3", although I might can stretch it to 4". It's going ON the doors of a Mercedes W124, I'm unsure how much I can cut into the door and go back, so the shallower, the better. Overkill is the main goal here, that's how the owner does everything on the car The midbass will be attached to the door by means of a plywood "box" and vented in the door. well my original plan was to get two FI BL 15's, and i have ordered one and i am using it now and i really like it but my girlfriend wanted a sub just like mine so i have to order two more subs and due to the fact that im going to have an 8 cube box i think im going to go with two FI BTL N2 15's instead, running on a crescendo bc5500 instead of the bc3500 and im going to do the big three with a 270 singer alternator with an overdrive pulley then an xs d3400 under the hood and i was going to have a single d3100 in the back but im guessing ill have to add a second one, and the box is going to be tuned at 33 hertz also. gonna make the little colorado FLEX! Hi All, Would like some advice from those who have heard them. I have a sealed box that has appx .75 cubes after displacement. It has to be sealed and I prefer sealed anyhow. I put two Sundown SA-10's in there (yes I know they are better ported but my son has sa-12's sealed and sound great) but they just aren't doing it. Maybe some of it is because I'm used to my son's 12's but it seems like the 10's aren't hitting all the frequencies. They sound amazing with certain songs but not so great with others. After only a year of use on a Crescendo 1000c4 my SSA DCON 12 inch died. =( Repair dude is trying to charge me 100 for repair/recone and 35 for labor. Nearly the price of a brand new DCON. What do I do.

As most of you know I unloaded my xcons below tuning and did some damage. Only one had visible damage and I corrected that with some devcon epoxy. Now that they are both back in and playing my wife and I both agree that they have lost output. Is this possible? Could I have done enough non visible damage to the soft parts that they would lose noticeable output? I assumed they might be a little sloppy now from stressing the spiders, but to lose output? Okay, so I'm wanting to build a box into my worthless backseat area in my mustang and reverse mount a 18 which should look sweet as hell. I'm not walling it into the trunk though, I dont /think/ anyway, it will depend on if I can fit it or not. The point is 1: to keep my trunk space open and 2: to avoid firing in the trunk at all to avoid all the nasty trunk rattles. 3: to look badddass. Was using 1200 watts, but I'm moving to a smaller car and I'm going to put this in a box that's just below the min requirements. How many watts would this sub need? 300? 500? And I'm talking RMS watts. Thanks

Ok so im thinking about cuting holes in my door panel for my 6.5s Apline type R's So i can show the grills instead of leavingthem in the factory spot (08 Pont G6) . i plan on using a hole saw, would there be a better tool for that instead? and if i do that then i think the sound and performance of them will og down without some type of addend or extra install to go with them, especially with that small space between the door panel and the factory location, what could i do to ensure the SQ of them and performance? sound deadening maybe? or what could i put to fill that gap and etc.

Hey guys, just bought a double decker pontoon boat and want to throw some Loudspeakers up top for some island parties and raft ups I hit during the summer. I'm shooting for extremely loud and bass heavy (seems to be what most people like) and have a budget of $1k for the setup. I was planning on getting two JBL Eon 15's based off my DJ friend's recommendation but I figured I'd ask here as well. I plan to power the setup with a Honda EU2000i genny (not yet purchased) or perhaps the Ryobi 2000. Was trying to see whats the best frequency to set on my alpine mrx-f35 amp. for the alpine type R 6.5's, i listen to alot of r&b and Rap. i like to play them at high volume but with good clarity, my current eq settings (avic z2 HU) and amp settings, they sound slightly harsh or "Screechy" at hi volumes

I was thinking of buying a 18in or two, or maybe even a 21in DP. But in all reality I probably should just build on what I have. So I was thinking another 2 Dcons. I'm not sure how much louder it would be, or if it'd be worth it to try. I saw Hairyunicorns 6 Dcons, and yeah they looked like they looked like they did decent, but I think his issue was the box. Recently I edited some music, and it had a few really low notes. Decided it was about time I moved my high pass up a little from 15hz. Did that and then for some reason decided it was a good idea to reset my gain even though it sounded perfect as is... As I was doing this and I had the gain all the way down and the deck paused, I noticed a fluttering whine coming from my subs. Thought it was a little weird cause I had never noticed it before. I forgot to mark where I had the gain before which was a mistake.. hi all I'm buying a single 12" re audio xxx new style. I could get my hands on the old style 18 but don't think I'll have the space so I'm gonna go with the 12. I need to figure out what to do about a box for it. any ideas on tuning or size? I'd like to tune it low I like screwed and chopped due to all the low notes in it. like the 20-30 hz range is where most of my bass hits. hence why I'm going with a xxx now instead of my soft Parts aa assassin 8's . I've got around 30 in wide by 17 in tall by hopefully 20 or under deep. any help would be greatly appreciated. output isn't the biggest concern but would be nice. the low tuning and sq is the most important part.

As most of you know I am running 2 XCON 15s. The other day I let my player go into a sweep of 20-60hz, obviously way below my tuning. My amps do have a set ssf at 28hz. However, my subs bottomed out like crazy for a couple seconds(stopped before I could run to deck to turn down). Now I am having issues with one of the subs. When I say issues its very confusing. I don't seem to have lost any output, BUT when I watch the subs play its almost as if they are "out of phase" with each other. The left sub is BARELY moving at low volumes and even at higher volumes on steady tones. On some songs it seems to move just as much as the other, but on most songs AND tones it is barely …

I need a box for a Fi BL 12 sub woofer I would rather buy one unless it exceeds around $150. I would like it to be ported but I'm not sure if it will fit in my truck. I have a 2000 ford ranger XLT and I want to keep one back seat so it can't be to big. Any suggestions on pre-made boxes or if it's truly worth it, where can I learn how to build a perftect box for the BL 12.

I always have my iPad connected to my radio and I think it will look much cleaner mounted.. but anyway I want to have a set of components installed I'm the console also. how do you guys think it would should and will it be a waste of money to do so? these are the component sets that's I'm most interested in alpine type r sundown sa series comps incriminator audio comps

I convinced myself to go ahead and put a couple subs in my truck. I don't want to have to raise my seat or anything, so I'm going with a enclosure from Fox acoustics designed for my truck. But I still have a couple of questions... I know I will not be able to get ground shaking bass out of two tens or twelves, so I'm going for a sq setup. as for power I don't have an amp yet but I don't want to go overboard with power. 1. should I go with two vented 10's or two sealed 12's? 2 what's a good shallow mount dub to go with for under $300

Well a friend of mine passed in a motorcycle accident the other day, and apparently he left me his truck. It's a 1998 Dodge Ram Extended Cab. I'm looking for a cheap subwoofer recommendation to put a pair of in the back. Don't have much money looking to spend around $100 or less per sub and get a pair. I listen to a lot of dubstep and rap so the lows matter. Let me know what anyone has for a recommendation. Don't worry about mounting depth. If the sub is the right price/performance, I'll just take the rears out. It doesn't make much difference to me.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement surround that will fit this sub? It has about a 3" tear in it but the rest of the sub is perfect. I contacted SSA but they wont sell just the surround but want to sell me a complete recone. I have found plenty of replacement surrounds on the web but none look like they will support the excursion of this sub. any help would be appreciated. thanks

so i notice my sub can handle 720 @ 4 ohms but it is wired as 2 ohms so will it be able to handle more the 720 or will 720 still be the peak no matter what ohm you wire it at
