I have set a budget for $150 per sub...... I am really wanting at least 12's. And I need some input on which subs within this price range will have the best bang the buck. I was looking at the Alpine SWR-1222D as a possible candidate. But that was purely just a suggestion for myself. After I figure out what subs I want to get I will try and figure out what amp will push them the best. Thanks in Advance. ~MadroX

Hi guys I'm in a little trouble, well my friend is and he's relying on me to fix it. The car is a 98 civic coupe. He has Rockford fosgate t1 components in stock locations (door and pillar) powered by a rockford two channel (not sure what model I think it's the power series) They have sounded great but now he says that on the right side of the car he can hear a static-like noise from the speakers at low volume. Can't hear at high volume (because music overpowers the static, but when turntable down the static is heard. I've done everything to my knowledge to try and troubleshoot. I checked the speaker wires, all good and secure. The wires are running to the amp safely. I…

My g/f is wanting to use my old sub box to replace her current RF sub setup. She has a PPI i450 (450w @ 2ohm) amp and we've been looking at either SSA DCON or the IA I-series. Goals would be that the sub has to work with the current amp and work well with the box. Box is made for a 12" sub and is 1.35cu ft (was previously made for an ICON) and is sealed. She's primarily looking for more output and deeper bass than her current sub which is a 10" $50 RF sub, so I know either of these will be better. Which sub would be the better to go with? Are there better options than the two mentioned above?

Ive got myself a 1977 Buick Regal...thas one of those metal cars...no plastic...and no type of dampening so yes sound dampening is on my to get list. Im not an all out SPL guy, but not any all out SQ guy... Im more of a "LSQ" guys that many people are...but wont admit it. Due to an awkward trunk...I AM A go with either 1 15 or 2 10s. I want it to sound clean and hit the lows. Boxes im thinking bout ..... two 10s...3 cu ft. tuned to 32hz, 1 15 3-4 cu ft. tuned to 32 hz I dont wanna spend more than 230 for a single woofer or 400 for a pair WOofers Fi SSD 15 AA Aresnal 15 Re SE 10, 15(they are pretty cheap on ebay) Alpine Type-R 10, 15( hear they arent very good on the sq, i…

hello to all. as some of u know, i was on here about 4 months ago looking for opinions on a sub. well i went with a 2011 kicker l7 15 in a 5cf ported box and i must say it was LOUDDDD. but then the SQ started getting to me. so i found a orion hcca 12.2 on my local craigslist for 375 or possible trades. i messaged him and long story short, we did a straight trade. my kicker zx1500.1 amp will not run at 1 ohm so im running the sub at 4ohms and the sub is laughing at the zx's 750watts at 4 ohms. so i need a amp thats stable at 1 ohms, atleast 1200watts (no more than 2000. stock electric here fellas) and no more than $375. fire away!!

For now, I will be releasing one parameter a day. After a week or so I will increase the specs-per-day and get the 15's out to you all soon. So for now, here's the first spec: Re: 3.5 Ohms (coils wired in series)

I'm pretty much set with going the SSA route, just need some help with my options. First, I am looking more for SQ rather than SPL, but also want to be able to make hairs stand on my neck and get loooow when needed. So Im thinking a sealed enclosure...also to save space. Currently my amp runs 750rms @2 ohm (1000 @ 1 ohm stable), so most likely would upgrade amp if need. With regards to damping factor on amps, would 2 ohm be sufficient vs 1 ohm on most amps or is this not such an important aspect? I'm considering two Gcon 12's or a single Icon/Xcon...price being important as I would like to stay under $500. If I go single sub would 15" be as efficient as two 12"? And wou…

Am currently looking at subwoofers to upgrade from my lowly Powerbass S-10D's. Have been running a Lightning Audio 1001.d monoblock @ 1 ohm for the last year, and every time I get it cranking, the amp shuts off after 10-15 minutes, blowing fuses. I am running a 250 amp alternator, and a brand new 1000ca/800cca battery, with 1/0 run back to my distribution block, and a 14" 4ga run to the amp, with the big 3 under the hood. Will be adding a second battery, under the hood, as there is a second battery tray. I really don't want to run much more power than what I already have, as I don't want to get into having to add a dual alternator, or putting another battery in the back. …

Sup guys just sittin here thinkin about what speaker setup I'll have in my sentra. Nothing too much or fancy but better than stock and budget-minded. It'll be coaxials and I've researched for some good budget speakers like pioneer kenwood massive audio planet audio etc. The other day I was at walmart and I checked out what they have for sale and I saw pioneers! 6"1/2 pioneer TS-g1643R's 180w max These were actually really nice looking (I asked to look at them) But the fact that it's from walmart sort of prevented me from buying.. I mean pioneer is pioneer right? Where it's sold doesn't really affect it's quality.. But out of curiosity would you have bought them and p…

Been searching and looking for a new build idea for this summer in my wagon and stumbled upon the dayon Um18-22 says it works well in 3cubes sealed and 4cubes ported tuned lowwwww which is what I prefer for both installs. Think this sound is promising for "Accurate Bass"? Something different.

Ok well I just received my D2 from Oak244 on ca.com, I just realized he's a member on here too, and wel I need an enclosure design. Itll be powered by a Hifonics BX1205d, I listen to rock and rap just about 50/50, and I would like LSQ leaning towards the SPL side. I was thinking about doing the 1.5 cuft @ 32 hz that is recommend on the SI site but thought I'd ask for other recommendations. BTW will anyone here design a box for me? lol My old box was for a RE SX 15" external dimensions 34w x 25d x 12h tuned to 35 hz. The box was HUGE. I need my trunk so I can relocate my battery since intercooler piping for my boost project will get in the way.

Was goofing off on Fleabay, and saw these...14,000 for some 6.5 comps and a 400w amp? WOW! They do have a used set for only 8K. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Critical-MASS-audiophile-6-5-inch-complete-Front-Stage-Amplified-System-CM654a-/321336314419?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item4ad1230a33 Can they really be that much better? I think it is funny that they state 400w rms but pair them to 100w/channel amp. Makes these 5.000 dollar Morel's look like walmart speakers! (not knocking Walmart speakers- I have a set in my burb.lol) http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOREL-SUPREMO-602-6-5-2-WAY-CAR-AUDIO-COMPONENT-MIDS-TWEETERS-SPEAKERS-NEW-/400605811874?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item5d4…

I would hope that most of you know that I'm not one to post "this vs. that" threads.... with that being said: My CDT CL62's are a little dissapointing. I want to have a four-way ( ) in my Trailblazer: Componant set in the front doors / dedicated mid-bass in the rear doors / sub in the cargo area. I'm of the mindset to go: Subbass - taken care of (Uberwoofer 15" + 1500 watts). Midbass - 6.5", 60-150hz, sealed in 0.5-0.7ft^3. Midrange - 6.5", 120-3khz, sealed (0.5ft^3) or IB. Tweets - 3/4", 3khz plus, prolly metallic, but could do silk. I have 100x4@4ohm rms available. 200@2ohm. If you had $600 to spend on those six speakers & a pair of crossovers, what would yah do?

Does anyone have experience with the Exile flat subs, or even flat subs in general? My 10" Q takes up way too much space in my car (2 seater) and adds too much weight so I'm going to sell it and it's looking like a flat sub is my only option to stay comfortable. I know a sub like this won't be near as nice as my Q, but do they at least sound good and get loud enough for normal listening?

Ok. First of all, this thread is for a free Mag 15 shipped to your door. How you can get the Mag is this: Design us a web page. (the whole thing, not just one page) We are looking to re-vamp our web page and we need someone to design it for us. This is an open contest, anyone can win! Just email me at [email protected] for the design details (what we are looking for) and we'll fire an email back so you can get started on the design. We'll let this contest run for a month, so by the begining of next month we will have a new web page and someone will have a free Mag 15. Thanks! Nick

Hello all, Name is Chelsea (Andrew is my significant other) New here! We currently have a pair of RE Audio SX 18" subwoofers in a 10 cubic feet box after driver displacement, ported to around 35-40hz. They are powered by a Hifonics Brutus 2600 RMS Amplifier, it can only run at 1, 2 or 4 ohms. We will be modifying our box so it is raised about 5-7 inches wich will increase it to around 16 cubic feet, and we will be changing the port to preferably 29-30 hz. The RE Audio SX's that we currently have are D4 voice coils and we run our amplifier at 1ohm splitting the RMS between subwoofer's getting around 1300 RMS per SX. We can not do this with the Fi BTL's because they are D2…
