Subwoofers / Speakers

Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

  1. Started by Sniperofgods,

Alright, i am looking to build up a daily gp build. I was almost dead on a pair of 15's Sundown SA's to be specfic. I guess i am looking to spend around 550ish to 600ish on subwoofers. I am pretty sure i have roughly 14 cubes to work with in my jeep i'll have to double check in the morning but im pretty sure its around that range. I have a sundown saz 3000d to throw at whatever combo i end up going with. My goal is to be as close as 148-149ish on music dbs would be nice but i know a lot of factors play into that. Also i don't want to build a wall unless the gains were huge. I listen to mostly rock, heavy metal, as well as rap. Going in a 2001 grand cherokee limited, if …

Couldnt have been any more easy to work with. We shall call the build "SEXCONS" as per my wifes instructions (oh yeah!)

Now ill be the first to admit that I really don't know a ton about a good proper speaker setup upfront.. Iv mainly focused my attention on subwoofers for the first few years of my car audio journey as I'm sure most of us do. I'm really looking to up my game as far as my front stage goes. I'm kind of leaning towards making my own 2-way or 3-way setup. Depending on whether decide to go with a 2 or 3 way setup, I really wanted to try a soft dome tweeter along with a midrange speaker (if 3 way is the best option) mounted in the A-pillars. Then have either an 8" or 10" midbass driver in each of the front doors. My goal is obviously not perfect sound quality. I want a les…

I had a kid at school offer me $700 cash for my SA15s in the box. I payed 500 for the subs and box new so i'm almost positive i'm going to do it. Now, the question is do I buy the exact same subs and get a box built and take the $200 profit and get some components or something like that or do I slightly upgrade. If upgrade, what would be some good subs to look at. I'm running an saz2500 for my amp

My current setup is in a 2000, mustang convertible. Very little room. I am using 2 seperate boxes at about 1 cube sealed. I have a kicker 750.1 amp, powering two 10 inch CVRs. My question is, what can I drop in that will sound better? Of course the cvrs are loud, but after I tuned them there just not where I would like. I am looking for a cheap replacement. I may be able to sell the cvrs to some friends to help with cost. I'm looking at the Sundown E-10, so Skar IVX 10 Would an upgrade be worth if it, if so, what subs should I get? In short: 750-800rms, 1 cube sealed (each), daily use. What to get?

  16. Hi, I'm new to this. I never made a box before, so I'm trying to figure out how to make a ported box. I plan to get a dcon, but want to make sure I have the know how of how to make a box before pulling the trigger. I want to put it in 1.25 cu ft, tuned to 32hz, getting 400watts. What port area (not volume) should I be shooting for? I read somewhere that 8-12 sq in per cubic foot is good, which would put me at 10-15 sq in of port area, but I wasn't sure, so I figured I'd ask people that have personal experience what they recommend for this particular sub. Thanks

Currently have two RF T2D412 in 4 cube ported box in my 04 Dodge Durango. I am running them with two RF T1500bd-cp. Have extra battery and a 270a alt ran with all 1/0. The subs get loud and i have been served well by them. That being said they are not the most musical subs in the world and I have been eyeballing the XCONs for a long time now. Im going to sell the box and subs i have now and get new subs at tax time. So here is my question, are the XCONs my best bet with the power im running. At two ohms I SHOULD be around 1600w per sub. Also in that vehicle with that setup what size box should I build and how much port area is ideal? Would love input from anyone willing t…

I currently have 1 sa-10 @ 600rms in a sealed box and am looking to go a little louder. I plan on lowering my amp (massive audio n3) to 1 ohm to get up to 1400rms. I'm debating on whether to get 1 12" fi Q (1500rms) or to just add another sa-10 (600rms each). They will be put in a sealed box (pls don't suggest a ported box, I'm not interested ) Thoughts?

I am thinking about down stepping down from my 18's and going with something more practical. I have a 2001 gmc 1500 extended cab and im thinking about putting 2 10'' subs underneath the seat. I plan on raising the seat 2'' and hope to have about 3.5 cubic ft. so I would like some recommendations on subs please. I have been looking at the psi platform 1 or ssa gcon but I am open for other options. I would like to go for as much spl as I can get with an under the seat setup. I have a AQ3500.1D and a dc power alt and 3 batteries. thanks for any help......

I have a single Dcon 12 right now in a Starr mountain sound box tuned at 33hz (i know its not the box) and its on a Boston's acoustics gt2125 bridged for 400w but I got it tuned way down prob seeing a honest 200w if that and it has this buzzing noise right behind the dust cap almost like a rattle only on the higher notes (low notes you can't hear it) I have the lpf at 70hz I wonder if turning it down further will help but I've had it in two different boxes and its done the same way in each one and I can't seem to fig out what's going on It sounds as if I set a screw on top of the sub while it was playing.
