Subwoofers / Speakers

I'm looking to install a single 10" subwoofer under the rear seat of my '18 Ram 2500. The enclosure is sealed with a gross volume of 0.8 cubic feet. The amp hasn't been purchased yet, but I'm leaning heavily toward the new Sundown SFB1000D which would provide 1k watts at 2ohms. I'm looking for sound quality while still having the ability to get reasonably loud. I listen to rock, metal and rap. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 10" GCON, but I'd like to get opinions on any other subs I should be looking at before ordering. Budget is <$400.

I'm in the market for a sub but not sure if I need to buy a dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohms voice coil. Furthermore, how should I wire it in series or parallel. What are the pros/cons of a D1 vs a D2? Then what are the pros/cons of wiring up the coils in series vs parallel? I'll be running a 12" sub with a Soundstream Rubicon 702 which does 700 watts RMS X 1 at 2 and 4 ohms bridged. Also does 350W X 1 at 8 ohms bridged.

So I ordered a 15" mag I think a week n a half ago. I just haven't had time to get everything setup and what not. Over the last week, in my spare time, I have been building my 2.5 cu ft sealed box. Here are some of the pics: Thats it for now. Should be done tomorrow. Glueing the front baffle onto the box and the terminal cup. Then sealing and carpeting and installing tomorrow! Here is my old subs. Nice subs, just wanted a change.

So I'm running an Xcon 15 ported in my daily driver right now. I am thinking of picking up 3 SA-8s to put in a new project car. What type of output difference is there gonna be? This is strictly for music, I just don't want to be in the daily, then hop in the show car and think "This sucks!" Both cars are big Cadilllacs. Any input?

what is the difference between e8v3 and the e10 and which should be louder with a 1400 rms rated amp

Looks like I will be competing with Treo this coming season. Just won an auctin for a CSX 15" built for SPL (no pole vent). It does have a blown coil but for $100 shipped I am not complaining. It is going back to Treo anyway to get enlarged to an 18" with quad coils. Hmmmm, quads. So it looks like Treo and Concept for me this season. I will post some pics of the 15" when I get it and of the 18" when it returns!

I recently read that if you were to have 2 speakers play the same frequency that they will cancel and would be about the same loudness if I were to play a single speaker. I have 2 sets of components in my front and am wondering if they would sound just as loud with a single set? People add more subwoofers and they get louder so I just don't understand why it makes a differnece.

I'm pretty much set with going the SSA route, just need some help with my options. First, I am looking more for SQ rather than SPL, but also want to be able to make hairs stand on my neck and get loooow when needed. So Im thinking a sealed enclosure...also to save space. Currently my amp runs 750rms @2 ohm (1000 @ 1 ohm stable), so most likely would upgrade amp if need. With regards to damping factor on amps, would 2 ohm be sufficient vs 1 ohm on most amps or is this not such an important aspect? Hi guys, this will be long...lol...bear with me. I just bought a 97 Tahoe (4dr 4x4) and am wanting to put a new system in it. So far I have just a HU (Pioneer DEH-80PRS) and the amp for my mids/highs (MB Quart RM440.4). Lately ive been considering upgrading the sub stage in my 1998 s10 extended cab truck. Currently I have a pre fabbed sealed downfire box. says its 1.75 cu ft per side (holds 2 12's). got 2 ppi subs in there powered by a older fosgate 1000.1bd. Not really liking the way it sounds sealed up. I know its a pre fab box and all but i love the output of a ported box. Love the lows. Of course if i could i would slap a btl or 2 in there but thats not realistic for me right now. Im on a budget. I will be building the box myself. I am looking at getting two RD Sonance 10" subs or two RE SE 10" subs. I did have the idea of two audioque sdc2.5 10" subs but the RE SE subs had a flatter response in WinSD. They were cheaper too. I just found a good deal on two RD Sonance subs and didn't know much about them so I am asking for help. I am going to build a ~2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 35hz. The amp I am using is going to be either a sundown saz1500 or a us md3d amp. I am just trying to get loud as i can and still have a somewhat flat response. Which 10" subs would work better in this set-up? If anyone else has some subs that they think would work for me then please recommend them. Thank you in advance.

i mapped out some EQ settings in a new box design. 9 cubic feet with a 32 hz tuning and 128 port area. trying to figure out which setup would be better. either 4 Planet Audio TQ150DVC 15" dual 4-ohm TORQ subwoofers on an Audioque 2200D in a sealed box with 2 cu ft per sub. or 1 MA Audio MA1800XL 18" dual 4-Ohm subwoofer on an Audioque 2200D in a round port box tuned to 32hz with 5 cu ft for the sub. setup would be in the trunk of a 2nd gen Altima. sound i'm looking for is really loud deep bass, the kind that vibrates the air in your lungs (or as close to that as i can get ). electrical upgrades will be done (big 3, 0 ga, etc). i hope this is enough information for you all to help. thanks.

guys as i mentioned in a few other threads i am a sales rep and i spend ALOT of time in the car. after debating for hours what would be best-- build a killer small sub box ( RLi8 or like with a PR to keep it small ) or redo my doors one of our resident experts here hit the nail on the head " why would you spend so much time or money on a sub? it reproduces about 15% of your sound ". it really hit home. i deadened my doors with Raamat, but did not do the closed cell foam on either skin of the door. when it warms up i want to make sure i do the closed cell foam ( is it better to line the inside of the door or between the panel trim and outer skin? ). i boug…

Between two 15" CVXs or two FI Qs. Do you think that off the same power, 1000 watts each, both in a ported box in the same vehicle, (tahoe), which do you think could get louder? I know it depends on the install but they're basically going in the same setup. Which do you think would get louder and sound better doing it? I think it would probably be the Q but I havent heard either.

I have the chance to buy a brand new rockford T1 12" for $180 each or should I go with some RE SEx 12" for $160 each? Im running a sundown 1200d v2 to them so its gotta be able to handle the power. I just want a sub thats going to work good in 1cu ft sealed. hard hitting is key

One of my friend has a problem with one of the 4 coils on his Soundstream XXX 18" (QVC 1°). I think it's blown; it was smelling burnt friday night. This sub is only a few months old. He had a Hifonics Brutus on it (3000 watts rms at 1 Ohm). He admits the box is way too small, and he never uses the SSF on his amp !!!!!!!!!! So, is it possible to find a recone kit for this sub ? Alright... so currently I have a shitty front stage since I was not looking to go "crazy" with the audio... that plan did not stay.. I went from some old school JL audio 10" w3's to a Pioneer Premiere 12" and then to a 12" SSA Icon and now I currently have a 15" SSA Xcon sealed enclosure... so far I love the sound... My front stage consisted of just Alpine 6x9 for a while and then I added some Polk Audio tweets in the dash... What do you guys think I should do, just a pair of 2 way comps, or should I also get some 6x9's in the back as well? Some people say just the fronts matter, but some others say to get rears as well. will be buying 2 DCON 12's Dual 4 ohm Subwoofers. looking for a amp in the range of 200$ that will power these properly. will be using a dual champer ported box, each chamber is 1.8 c/f and the sub is recomened 1.75c/f But on the other hand im also very much considering a single 12" ICON with a ported enclosure matching specs. In reguards to excurrsion and making allot of noise, will i be able to afford a amp to get the single icon to outperform the 2 dcons for spending about 200$ on a amp? Ok so i was looking for a couple of 10 inch subs that don't cost too much but still can do the job with no problems. 500w RMS each and good sound plus some good excursion. Then i find this sub. Now i know Phoenix Gold is not the best out there but these things look pretty solid.
