hey guys, i was wanting to install my jl speakers buttt i had a question i know u guys can help me out with. my stock speaker size is 6x8 in front and back. up front, i have the jl 6.5s and im doing tweeters up in the pillar up front. then in back is where my problem begins, the speakers are 6x9s and the hole is for a 6x8 so how much if any will i have to cut out to make them fit?

I've been trying to pick out a good set of comps for a while now and was wondering if I could get any input? I picked up a honda accord and everything has been ripped out. I guess its a good starting point. I have been watching videos on how to build your own fiberglass door panels and kicks and figured I might give it a try. If I can get it to fit I was hoping to run 2 12's ported sealed from the trunk and was wondering what set of comps would keep up and be clean but not too harsh? And if running 2 sets would be better?

I would like to be able to hit decent lows would be better to go with what sundown reccomends for sealed or slightly larger? Any inputs please?

So, my sister wants a audio make-over for her '05 Liberty as the stock system doesn't work well with her iPhone and speakers are pretty shot. She listens to a lot of music and A LOT of differnt types of music. Id like to hook her up with a really well rounded system that I can setup and forget it. I'm building a 99 2dr Tahoe with 4 DC level 6 18's with 20k watts going to them, and I need some suggestions on the mids and highs. I have an Eclipse 7200 mkII head unit and an Audision bit one laying around that I will be using. I lalso have a DD C2 and an Alpine pdx 150.4 that are not being used that i can use or I might just buy new amps. I need a front stage that will keep up with the bass and not sound horrible. Thanks

I have decided the Sundown Audio SA series is what im going for. I need the best setup for what im doing but im not an expert, thats why I came here. The car: (not yet purchased) A new (or recently new) Dodge Charger My ideas: 2 SA-15s, 2 SA-12s, or 3 SA-10s (The 3 SA-10s are the last option on my list but il keep them in mind) The power: All off of a 1200 or 1500 RMS amp (I will have no other modifacations so I need to keep the power down) I bump daily, im careful about feeding to much power and i take care of my subs. I've talked to several people and all seem to have a different opinion so I thought I'd get some feedback here. Currently have 1 Q18 Dual 2 ohm wired to .7 DCR on a Sundown SAZ 2000 Enclosure is 8 cf3 tuned to 29hz Been thinking about maybe picking up a second Q. I really like how it sounds but thinking about maybe going bigger and the black friday sale and my bday coming up I've been thinking about it more. I have the space to build for 2, although it would be a little more tricky since I'd have to build around the wheel wells. It's doable though. My concerns are if I get a 2nd Q I would have more cone area but running a higher DCR of 1.4 will more than likely cut down…

I was thinking about running 4 txx bf 15s in a custom box, but i dont know if i should. if i do should i go ported or sealed. i've always went ported but just wanted to know would it matter. i'm getting the Crescendo BC5500D amp to power em, and 2 xs power D3100s. please help me out should i go with this setup? i already have the big three and zero everything from front to back.

As stated in my intro thread, I have an '07 Ram Megacab. I have a decent amount of space to play with behind my rear seat. Dimensions are below. Ignore the dual sub design, it's just a photo to put the dimensions on. Original idea was a pair of sealed 12s. I talked with pro-rabbit and he suggested a single ported 12 GCON as one option, until he had exact measurements. I picked up 2 re sex10 subs for super cheap and would like to know if its possible to recone them to SSA con recone kit? I'd like to try doing a recone but would rather not do a nice new sub. I know its probably dumb but is it possible? Both are 4 layer 3" VCS but I'm sure gap etc would come into play. Thanks

Which is better ( Fi 15 inch bl or a Kicker l7 15 inch) Would like some opinions on which is more liked amongst everyone! Kind of stuck trying to pick 2 new Subwoofers out for the new system I'll be putting in my car. Yes I know kicker isn't a very favored brand for a lot of people, but I have heard a lot of great things about kickers new 2 ohm 15 inch l7's. I still have a few friends who swear by Fi and SMD's Subwoofers so I thought I would see if I could get some added opinions.

Im building a box for two kicker L7 15's [ 36"w x 20"d x 17"h ], to go in a 2005 monte carlo. not much trunk space. kicker says 3.5 cuft. with three 4" x 19.25 ports for each. I wonted to fire them to the rear with the the ports on the same face as the subs, but the 36" w wont allow for that. My problem is the port placment.. What would be the next best place for the ports? Thanks for the help.

Hey ive posted before here asking about what subs i should buy to fit in the trunk of a 2004 dodge intrepid but never really came to a decision. But with the black friday sale i really want to make up my mind fast. I have a regular battery in the front and an xs 3400 in the rear. Did big 3 in 00 wire. And im getting a new alternator. Im not sure what amps i need to get to have sufficient power for 2250 watts rms. Any suggestions. For subs so far i like the idea of 1 15 in zcon, or 2 12 in icon, or possibly 3 10 in gcon. I want it to out do my four door integra (alpine type s components on Kicker 250.2, DD 1512 in pre fab ported box on 750 watts rms.) I'm thinking two SA 8 v.2, RE XXX6.5 components. Howdy. I am in the market for a new sub to go in my Mazda 3. I have my eye on this Audio Integrations custom fit sub box to help claim back some trunk space, and hopefully not sacrifice a ton of sound. It has ~.7 cubic feet, available, and has 7" of mounting depth. I have about 700 x 1 watts rms @ 4 ohms to give the sub, and listen to all types of music (hip hop, rap, house/trance, metal, rock, etc). I am not looking for anything too crazy, but would like something that gives good bang for the buck. I see there are some good deals for black friday, and it got me thinking. Any suggestions?

2005 dodge ram 1500 I have this massive triple sub 10", shared lower vent, chambered box 16.5x20x49(with port).... port size is 2.25"x49"x12.5". I have 2 alpine swr-10d4(1000rms-3000peak), and one swr-1043d(600 rms-1800peak). all were previously ran in parallel @ 1 ohm (i think) going to a rockford fosgate t1000.1 power series. Suprisingly it hardely even got warm and pushes them hard. Recently this weekend me and my friend traded cars becasue mine gets better mileage. he has my old subs in them and this weekend the amp started going into protect mode. this happens on any note lows or highs. my friend says its happened to him before on only one song. but the amp does not get hot it is not clipping or distorted as im running them at maybe 800 to 1000 watts. when i go back to listen to them one sub sounds like it pops then the amp goes into protect. what could that sound be? the song i was playing this weekend was rack city a lot because of its good bass (in my opinion). could i have possibly have torn the spider or the tinsel leads? when i push on sub …

Ok, currently i have a set of Focal 165 3-way components in my yukon and i think they sound great! I know some say that they are harsh, and at first i agree, but after a little eq'ing i got them sounding great imho. I am doing an install for a friend in his Voltswagon gti (nice car:)) and am trying to choose a good (under $350) 3-way component set for him. I am considering the precision power PC.3.65. I will buy an amp according to the speakers i choose. I would recommend my focal set but they might be a little "harsh" in his small car. Those aluminum tweeters in the focals are sharp haha! Hey everyone! So my dad leased out a new 2012 Fusion Sport and has had it for about 3 months now. We were talkin about selling my trailblazer and i just take over the lease! He's a great salesmans at Hines Park Ford in New Hudson/Milford, Michigan and he can get a demo that the dealership will pay for. Also if you want a ford go to him lol. I'm pretty lucky because im only 18 and i'm gettin a 2012! Love my parents!! I have not yet measured out the trunk yet but it looks fairly large. Just hooked my amp up to mids and highs and the white rca end into my amp is only coming out with sound very quiet and static as hell?if i got new rcas they dont come with the ground wire that came with the ones i got wiith my kit. What do you guys suggest i do? Thanks.
