Subwoofers / Speakers

Ive been looking at subs for a week and im trying to get the best sounding sub for the money so ive narrowed it down to the SKAR VVX-12 and the Sundown SA-12. I want some hard hitting bass but also great sound quality, durability and reliability. These subs seem to be exactly the same and ive heard that Jacob from sundown designed both of them?? What are their differences if there are any? they both seem to be of great quality

I'm stuck on what 12" sub i wanna buy for my truck. This will be my first system. Im trying to decide between Skar VVX 12, Sundown SA 12, and the Gcon 12. Ive heard great reviews for all of these. But i just cant decide. They all sound GREAT. I guess the deciding factor will be how durable and reliable they are on top of what other peoples opinions are. Any advice would be great!

If i want to connect sub-woofer to my car audio then what should i do first?which kind of cable do i need for this?I need clear,perfect sound quality.

I am looking for Experienced suggestions and/or advice. I currently have a Kicker L7 15 but I want to upgrade to a louder Subwoofer but with good Sound Quality. I would like to upgrade to 1(one) 2,200+ RMS sub, but the most important for me is SQ (sound quality). I mostly listen to hispanic music (in case this helps). I'm completly unsure of what's best, Please feel free to recommend any Sub that meets my demands. Thanks to all in advance.

Over the past few days I've noticed my dcons bass excursion decline at random times and now it is at stable very low volume compared to how it used to sound. I've only been using it for a bout a year running on a crescendo 1000c4, it used to sound badass and shook my whole car up now its just a dull rumble. I don't think I blew it out because I've been running it at the correct wattage thru my amp and had it professionally installed and thought SSA was known for it quality woofers. can someone please help me out?

Any one had experience with any of them I've heard a ton of good things about the ab xfl not sure what route I'm going to go will be in a sealed clamshell I want to be able to slam lows but still put up a decent number

So i just got my Zcon 18 installed in my 6.7 cu. ft. Net Box. it is tuned at 34hz with 112 sq in port. Currently its running off US Amps MD1 (1200rms) and gets pretty **** loud. This is a Great sub, well built and very good looking. not quite as good sq as my Stereo Integrity Mag V3 but its close. (that could also be due to the higher tuning as the mag was in a 28hz box.) Im wondering, would it be worth it to double the power to 2400watts? for a daily application would it really be much louder? the sub already moves pretty good as is. Purchased the New Minataur II, Currently have two IDQ 10's running off a Zapco Comp 300 (Will be replaced with the Minatuar), Sounds decent, Was possibly looking to pick up a single Alumapro Alchemy MX 12 and giving that a shot instead of the two 10's, I'm pretty much in to SQ and prefer tight base but def dont mind it getting a bit load every now and then. How long do you guys recommend breaking in the ssd's b4 going to competition with them and putting a lot of power on them?

I'm buying new speakers for front stage. I'm pretty set on getting alpines to match my power pack. I've been looking into the Type R 6.5" components but I was wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra money to get the Type X. I've heard good and bad about both so I was wondering if you guys had any personal experience with either one of them. Thanks guys

Simple question here how much can a vvx 8" handle? I know it says 400rms but for those who own them would I be able to put lets say 600rms for daily use? And how good are they?

Hey eveybody ive been doing a little research and ive narrowed it down to these two subs and cant decide which to go with as if now for electrical i have a yellow top under the hood and the big 3 done and will be adding another battery in the back probably xs d3100 and for the amp im planning on going with cresendo 2250 and its all going in a 1988 suburban not looking for numbers just a good loud daily sub.

One of my d1 SSA icons is not hitting near as hard as the other. I have them wired to 4 ohms. I followed 12volt wiring diagram for it. I tried swapping wires on one sub to change phase but it didn't really do anything, maybe helped a bit. Its been like this since I hooked them up. Any ideas?

i have a fi bl 18 with the hyperpole and flatwind coils and i want to get loud but deep loud not a high tuned loud so would any one like to share there opinion on if i should get another fi or get 2 aq hdc3 18s and sell my fi or does any body have any other suggestions to get

I just wondering if there is a way to calculate how much port area you need? I know a basic way to do this is to have 16 square inches of port area for every cube of box volume. I also know that port area needed for a driver has nothing to do with the volume of the enclosure. so how would I calculate the right amount of port area for a driver?

So I'm trying this whole active thing out with drivers I had laying around. I was actually pretty impressed how the random drivers sounded so I figured I could spend some money on stuff. But before I purchase, I keep seeing people saying that to make a certain driver sound good it needs a "notch filter" to smooth out the response. I researched and now I know exactly what it means, but I don't want to build one (mostly because I have no clue how to do that) so I was thinking...and I realized that they're using the notch filters for the same thing we use an EQ for in a car...right? Hey SSA, I am in need of some help selecting which subwoofers to go with that would be fit my application. I'm going to try to give as much info as possible about goals, requirments ect.. I have done lots of research on the drivers that I'm considering and while there all quality drivers, I do not have personal experance with any of them so it's somewhat hard to make a choice. I've been browsing speakers to replace in my doors as my project is finally coming together and I came across the "Vipera f6." http://lautsprechershop.de/pdf/audiodevelopment/f_line.pdf 26mm xmax... Wow that blows away the exodus anarchy. I highly doubt I would buy them (at around $280 each) however I was wondering if anyone has ever used this midbass or their other products? I have a 2006 KIA SPECTRA SX sedan. I have HAT Unity U-61 powered by an Arc Audio KS 300.2 amp I have a TREO RSX 1600 amp who is subless. TREO RSX 1600 312 x 1 @ 2 ohm 600 x 1 @ 1 ohm I am looking for a subwoofer that can handle Jazz music? I am not sure which subwoofer to go with that amp. I am not sure if I should do Fi Audio, Incriminator Audio SSA, Boston Acoustics, Image Dynamics or Arc Audio. I am looking for something for under $200 because of financial reasons. I am not sure if I woudl do sealed or ported plus I am not sure if I should go 10 or 12. Thank you.

I plan on running either one sa8 v2 or two v1.5s. They both would end up being about the same price ordering the 1.5s from woofercooker reconed. These will be going in a 4th order band pass. My question is are the v2s so much of an improvement that I should get one of those or would two 1.5s be louder? I was too focused on 18s while the whole sa8 train was going around so I missed all the info on them. Thanks.

im about to do a new setup for my single cab. not sure on the amp yet but im wanting around 1200 - 1500 watts depending on setup.ive considering doing 2 10 " SA SD'2's ported.or even thought about doing 1 " 12 SSA Icon ported. im limited on space but can make the box long and should be able to get proper airspace depending on what i go with. any opinions for me?
