Before i start, go ahead and go to youtube and search for HDC3, there are already some videos of them in action. I thought since nobody had any info on them that i would share what i have been told from the guy himself. If you thought the old HD3s were loud, ...haha get ready. There has been reviews about people doing direct swaps from HD3s to HDC3s and gaining, not loosing, gaining Dbs (not noticeable by ear, but by meter). So, what to expect out of these? The Fs rating on these subs are high, why? The Parameters for these subs were taken fresh. Have not been "broken in" yet. The suspension is still stiff as hell. When an HDC3 is broken in, the Fs drops approximately …

First off, I'd like to thank Nick Lemons of Stereo Integrity for giving me the opportunity to demo this driver. Having listened to the previous generation of BM's, I was curious as to what the new ones would do. Just to get it out of the way, I did this review for free, I'm not being given anything...the driver in question's going back to North Carolina as soon as I finish writing this First thoughts: When I received the BM, it was packaged in an almost identical fashion to my e12a.22 - a simple but effective cardboard frame, with the speaker itself wrapped in plastic. No damage was sustained in transit, it arrived perfectly. On first inspection, the biggest cosmetic dif…

Researched both and like what I read on both for SQ. Both are great looking subs, but don't know if I want the Morel because of 1000watts. Just don't want to hit that hard but if it is that tight and clean I would consider it. What do you guys think.

OMG!!! this thing is INSANE! i have the gains so so extremely conservative. only to aprox 30v asumeing an impeadance rise to around 3ohms im only getting 300-400w. and my roof is "only" flexing 1/4-1/2"....my dome light is "only" moving 1/16th (or so). not too many rattles but it hasnt gotten very loud yet either. the main test song has been "push that" but little john. no rock yet (im still amazed with its loudness wiht only 300-400w). it is overpowering my componets like they are nothing. speaking is impossible. and in the low lows (30Hz area, near tuning) the pressure changes are starting to take effect (as far as the funny breathing). not the loudest ive been in but d…

I am ready for the box. my dimensions i can use are 49.5''x 20''x 30''. im looking for the most SPL i can get out of this thing. Ive been researching for days and have seen many, many different suggestions on how to set up the port/box. im currently confused as to what surface area i need for my port. im looking to tune AROUND 30HZ. any help/ suggestions i would appreciate it. the box i came up with was 49.5w x 20''tall x 25'' deep with a port of 18.5''x8.5''x 37.25''deep. will this work or should i go another route?

Hello all. Like the new front page Very nice Had a little test at the Talk Audio Guildford Meet on Sunday. With my Vectras rushed boot install. Sorry this is one of my worst ever installs. I`m ashamed to show it. But it is loud!!! Yes that`s an Orion 5000d running @ a 1ohm load to those two 12" Baby Mags. Here are the scores: Peak Freeq = 142.3dB @ 20Hz 40 Hz= 141.4dB 33 Hz= 141.5dB 25 Hz= 141.4dB 20 Hz= 142.3dB Total Average score = 141.7dB Very Happy with those scores :earmuffs: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for the Escort. I went up to the Shelor Motor Mall competition in VA today to both compete and drop off a couple 12's to Chad today. When I first got there I was A) late and B) driving a completely dirty car which didn't make me feel too good. I got settled in and went up to sign up for SPL but found it was only a few dollars more to compete in both SPL and SQ so I signed up for both anticipating me getting my ass kicked in SQ. Luckily Nick M. found a guy that worked at the car dealer for me and I got to wash my car for free - YAY!!! Getting the 'teggy all jazzed up made me feel like I just took a bath. So anyway, I was good-to-go after that. I went through the SPL lanes at fir…

just for reference purposes, i KNOW for a fact, that 5.4 cubes tuned to 90Hz doesent work well for a 15. however, if you take about 5 cubes and tune it to 43Hz it is a much better box, until you lose the aero ports

I was thinking of taking the subwoofer out of my room and putting it in my truck(temporarily) until I buy my stuff I want. It has an RCA' and positve and negative wire. I was thinking connect the power to my remote wire, the negative to the ground and RCA to RCA. Is this a really bad idea? or what? Thanks guys

I have an issue with my amp protecting at a high output. The subs are wired to ohms in an 8 cube enclosure tuned at 38. When I take it into high volumes it gets louder without distortion. When it starts getting to its peak my amp throws a short circuit protect. Is it possible that one of the coils have an issue? Or possibly amp? The setup is four fi ssds on a stetsom 7kd. Also coils read exact same on each eight coils.

Anyone ever used banana plugs in a system? I am installing a 10" icon and a 1000D and i was going to use banana plugs to plug the wire into the subs. These are the ones i am going to buy. http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=eKs-BP Will these fit in an icon voice coil terminal? Should i just run the wire into it?

I don't have much room at all, so driver needs to be less than 3.5" depth. Looking for a dual 10" setup for sealed application. Was browsing what's available and came across: Pionneer TS-SW2501S4. (3" depth, 300RMS and 20-290Hz freq. range) Rockford Fosgate Punch P3SD410 (3.5", 300RMS and 45-250Hz freq. range) Now, judging by spec Pioneer would be the one to get, more shallow and more broad range, including <30Hz. These are manufacturer specs so you never know though. Don't want to spend anymore that $150 each, and something that plays a wide range including <30Hz, as flat response as possible. So far that Pioneer looks like a winner.

Check out these scores Held my 1st official ((((Propper Droppers)))) event this weekend. Sundays event went really well. Look at my results. Taken from my forum: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- :drummer: :earmuffs: I`m very happy with my SPL Testing results Couldn`t stop thinking about it on the way home - big grin on my face. :earmuffs: 1st to hit 150dB+ @ 20Hz in the U.K :earmuffs: I managed to change the speaker wire to 4x runs of 8gauge instead of the two bits of bell wire I was using. I think the tiny bit of extra effort & more wires did good... Mega Heavy Bass - Walled / Extreme Systems. 1: …

Today I put in some pioneer a series 6.5" in the back of my car. Tomorrow i'm planning on ordering the 4" models for the front. I'm running them of the 18w head unit. I have a sub already and was wondering if it would be worth it to buy something like 150hz bass blockers for the front speakers. I didn't know much about car audio when I went and bought my head unit and it doesn't have a high pass filter.

So I bought a sundown x-15 based off the rms and it being a sundown sub. I had a sa-15 and loved it, it hit all the notes I wanted and put in work. I had it powered by a kicker ix1000.1 in a 3.5 ish box tuned to 35hz. Now I just swapped the subs in the same box so I'm not too sure what the box is tuned to with the x-15 it hits low notes really nice, but most of the music I listen to doesn't have low low notes. My question is should I keep the x build a box for the x. And get a 8 or 10" for midbass, maybe that will fill the gap. Or sell the x a d get maybe a fi bl or ssa xcon, right now they will be powered by a alpine m240 later upgrading to sundown saz 3500 for a pai…
