I have a 99 cougar with 2 12" l7s on a planet audio aq2500m. they are in the prefabbed kicker box with the side aero port. I have to run the subs at 4 ohms so they arent getting much power so i was wondering if I should: 1.) Try to sell the amp and buy a 1 ohm stable 2.) Sell them and buy dual 2 ohm coils 3.) Sell them and get 2 12" subs but that would have to be in the range of $100-$175 apiece ( was thinking maybe decons) 4.) Sell them and get a single 15 in a nice box but would have to cost around $200 give or take. If i do get a different set up I would hope that it would be an upgrade from the l7s. If i switch subs i probably won't get a new amp. This one isn't too t…

I was running a set of type r 6.5 components that I got from a friend for a steal. They're starting to go out on me so I'm looking to redo the set up. I'm looking to spend preferably no more than 200 on the speakers and around 200-250 on the amp. I'm willing to budge a little bit if it's worth the money. I really liked the type rs but if you guys have better suggestions for me I'm always open to those! Thanks guys!

Hey everybody i just orderd a dcon the other day and i have a box orderd also and its 2.0 cubic ft. and tuned to 41 hertz and it says that its best to have it at 33 hertz and i was wondering if that would affect the sub and if so how?

The drivers are here! If you pre-ordered drivers, yours will probably go out next week. Other than that, ordering is officially open...although I probably won't get around to putting it on the web page until this weekend. Being this busy can not be healthy.

I'm looking for a good component set to pair up with my SSA Xcon 10 for my 350z! As stated in my intro thread, I have an '07 Ram Megacab. I have a decent amount of space to play with behind my rear seat. Dimensions are below. Ignore the dual sub design, it's just a photo to put the dimensions on. Original idea was a pair of sealed 12s. I talked with pro-rabbit and he suggested a single ported 12 GCON as one option, until he had exact measurements. He's been super swamped lately (understandably), so I'm trying figure out what I should purchase during this Black Friday sale while I can still save money. About a small XBL^2 Full Range driver, capable of replacing a tweeter, and playing down to about 300Hz? Sound like something you fella's would be interested in? Is there a way to convert between the 2 rating so I can compare subs better.

After rocking a DC lvl 5 15" now for about three years or so it has finally gone on me. I blew the voice coil the other day and well its time to move on... I know I can recone it and probably will do that and sell it, its time for something different. I am thinking about 6 8" subwoofers for about 300 square inches of cone area. Seeing as I am limited on trunk space, the box will equal about 4.3 cubic feet and that will give me enough room for my amp and bats. With the lvl 5 on full bore, I was staying in the mid to lower 14v so I figure I am good on electrical for now. I will be pushing these 8s with a SAZ-3500D and probably wire the subs to .66. well, as some of seen the pics..now it's time for a review.. i bought the sub for $50 just so i could add some low end. i chose the pr becuz scott (owner radioactivity) said they kicked ass for cheap subs, personally i thought he was full of chit...but read on.. The Install the sub is in the recommened 1ft^3 with 6in^2 of port. yep just 6 square inches! the only thing i changed was port length, as memphis recommends a 40 hz tuning, i added 3/4" to the port length, hopefully bringing it down somewhere around 35-37 hz. The Power yeah right!! it's getting fed a rated 70 wrms @ 4 ohm from a memphis pr 140. fred (local memphis rep) says the amp is actually closer to 125 wrm…

ok, im new here, so hi i have a small car that i have an old used rockford phosgate 12" sub set up to a really old amp, and im in need of an upgrade. im kind of on a budget. i have a 2000 watt power acoustik amp picked out (with a bass knob), and now im looking for subs. im not sure if i should go with a rockford punch (stage 3?) 15", 2 rockford punch (stage 2?) 12's, or get a fi ssd 15" (probably with the bp power and copper coil)...or if you have any other sugestions in the same price range, please leave them (gotta consider my options eh?) sorry if like my terminology is off im pretty new in the whole car audio thing, but im addicted to bass and cant stop haha thanks g…

I just ordered two Fi Q 15"s and i'm taking the 2 15"kicker cvx's out! My amp is the memphis 2500 or (Mojo) my car is a 97 honda civic... ok to the point will the Fi's be louder than the Cvx's in a big sealed box...ported is not really an option for me cause i'm leaning more towards a flatter response on low end and more towards sq!! but will the Q's still be louder than the Cvx's??? the box is 2.4 cub.ft per chamber! I know that your input on loud would be a ported box....but sealed which will be Louder?? Thank you

Hey guys I got a pair of 12" dss ethos that I had lying around , and finally gonna install it in my Altima. Anyways I had it in my challenger and it sounded great. Got rid of the challenger and forgot how I did the box. So I went on the website and was surprised when it said 40sq inches for 1.5 ft3. So if I wanted a 3 cubes box it would need 80 sq inches. I did the port length calculator and with that port area I would need a port length of like 60" lol So so I wanna ask if anyone has stuck to the recommendations to the T and hat results did they get.

Here is my is where i am at. I am going to get 2 JL 500/1. I am looking at 2 ebay auctions. I don't know if ii should get the 12in Image dynamics dual 4ohm or a RE audio 12in SX dual 2 ohm? I am looking for big base but still keep a good amount of SQ. Also i don't know which would be better for me 2 or 4 ohm. I have read lots of good things about RE audio on this forum ,but Image dynamics doesn't seem like a bad choice. I am going to build a sealed box if that makes a difference.

Solved the problem by selling the MX & buying a mag again I bought another mag, turns out it was my exact same mag i had owned before mx. It got damaged(cosmetic) in shipping. packaging could have been better. but i'll live. No more mechanical noise at least woot. here is the difference

which sub do u guys think is louder? both in there optimal boxes with rms power going to each in the same vehicle. iv been watching video on both and it got me thiinking

I planned on buying a set of image dynamics horns. The ID Horns get so loud I do not know what to use to compliment them. Should I go a midrange and a midbass or just a midbass because the horns tackle such a large range of frequencies?

I have the opportunity to pick up a pair from a friend of mine. These are supposedly team subs. I think he said they are the xs v2. I know they are massive. And one has the spider that separated from the edge. But he said I could have them for $300. I cannot find any information on the 10inch version. Is this a good price? And does anyone else know about them?

O.K so my brother is going to rebuild his system he had 2 12 alpine type r's and wants something louder deeper and just overall better than his old system. He has the U.S amps xt2000d 1000wrms @1 ohm. I was thinking to tell him to get an Fi SSD but the only thing is that if it could handle 1000wrms daily w/o options or if with them which ones. And what kind of box should you guys tell us to buils ported what tuning frequency or if sealed. He wants something for a daily driver. Or do you guys recommend a different sub. His buget is no more than 250 on a sub. And just 1. And do you guys no what the new design is going to be for the ssd
