Ran across a website that makes speaker pods for my vehicle. (03 Tahoe) http://www.customspeakerpods.com/Front-Door-Speaker-Pods-for-65-Speakers-GM-01-01-01-A.htm Has anyone used these? Price isn't bad at all. The different aiming of the speaker may be a plus. Opinions, comments?

alright i pretty much decided to go with 6 12's in a wall in the truck. should i roll with the T3 T600's, AQ sdc2.5's or SA 12's? i cant decide, ive already got 2 sa 12's, but the T600's can be had for 116 shipped each! subs will be run with 3 AP 1500s. one per pair. box space is limited to about 10 cu ft max after displacement.

  3. As some of you know I installed this 10" rockford T2 a few weeks back, wasn't that impressed at first and then i started to like it. anyway, i just picked my car up from the dealer, first thing i notice when i turn on stereo is NO bass, i stop to check all the connections, settings, etc. the basics. everything looks good. get home and put the DMM on my rca's and i can see the amp is getting signal. check the wires coming from the sub. no reading at all. so i'm like WTF and i pull it out of the box. there are NO signs of any kind that would indicate damage. rockford does a pretty good job of concealing all the important parts of their subs, but the portion of the VC that …

I know this thread is a teaser because we don't have the pictures uploaded yet, but as of last night we finished up our latest HT. The system includes a Denon 7.1 receiver, Denon up-converting DVD player, Panasonic 1080p HD projector, HDMI cabling, 20 Hidden Audio transducers, 124" 16:9 screen, Lutron automated lighting, MX900 remote, 2400 watt amplifier, and four BM 12's ported to 30 Hz in a 12 ft^3 box. The neat thing about using Denon receivers is that the upper models (this customer has a 987 model) have a 7 band EQ per channel, where each channel can be EQ'd independantly or the same EQ setting applied to all channels. The receiver is also super user-friendly and v…

I'll skip to how this box sounds since that is probably what most of you are wondering about. To initially demo the sub (kove armaggedon Z) I put it in a sealed 1.3 cubic foot box just to get a bearing on how it sounds. I'm using a nice dvd player, horrible receiver (I have no idea where the xover is set but it sounds high like 150) and a Tapco J2500 pro amp 2500wrms at 4ohm. I ran through my normal sound quality music at low levels to both break in the subs and just zero my ears to quite volumes. While playing Claude Chaloub's self title cd I noticed the sub seamed to peak in the 50's and 60's (which yes could be that sealed box) it also seamed to sound a bit dry in term…

  8. So. I'm looking for a tweeter that can play pretty low (~2k and up) and I came across these and from the specs they seem to do what I want them to. They're also easier to mount than a traditional large-format tweeter. So yeah. I have these http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-8-woofers/silver-flute-w20rc38-04-ohm-8-wool-cone/ Off axis in the doors. I like them. I couldn't really tell you why except to say that they play down to ~60hz and sound nice doing it. I know I can't cross them over very high though. So out of these two, which would work better. http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/horn-tweeters/audax-pr125t1-horn-tweeter/ http://www.madisoundspeakerstor…

Alight yall, Since my Bravox mid has a slowly growing tear in the surround I decided to get some opinions on what to do. Overall goals 1. A very well versed front stage that is able to be very loud. 2. Able to sustain good midbass (50/60 hz and up) while not sounding extremely harsh. 3. Able to play everything from rap, to rock, to classical, etc. 4.a passive set that works well off axis, as the bravox sounded the best off axis. Options 1. A simple passive Midwoofer and tweeter combination, 6.5" mid and tweeter. 2. A midbass in the door and a horn combination under the dash, This would be ran actively through probably something like a Sundown Audio 100.4 (onboard x-over)…

I need help picking a pair of 12s for sealed operation. It'll be power by a JBL 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms. I want a pair of 12s that'll hit hard and sound good sealed with about 500 watts to each. I had a pair of Orion HP 12s and liked them alot but I blew one and I'm looking to upgrade. So far I like the look of and am thinking of a pair of Audiopulse Epic 12s in dual 2 ohms or Fi SSD 12s depending on how efficient they are. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for a pair of 12s that'll get louder than and sound better than the Orions. Preferrably a pair of efficient 12s.

In a thread i started earlier i said i was looking to get an icon for my subs, but now that im very close to having the money to have the system put in im starting to lean towards the kicker comp vt for my subs. I was wondering if anybody had any expirence with these subs and if they are worth the money. If i got them i would get 2 twelves and a kicker dx 1000.1 to run them and they will be going behind the back seat of my single cab ford pickup.

Vehicle: 2003 Acura RSX Budget: $300-$450 Amp: NVX JAD800.4 Im looking to keep it simple and go passive with Two 6.5' components per door, & One tweeter per door. Will be having a fellow friend with experience fabricating doors do the install. So far Ive from a quick search, Im looking at the Incriminator Audio I6.5c's, or Image Dynamics ID65CS components...Anyone have any experience with either of these or any other suggestions? Pretty set on doing only one tweeter per door, any info on going with only one or going 2 per door would be great.

Okay, So i have a 2001 jetta, i dont know how big my trunk is and i suck at math. I was orignally going to get 2 12's btl but everyone told me that i would neeed to upgrade my alternator and the big 3. is this true? so my other option was to go with the 2 12's BL, but i dont know if i would still need to upgrade anything electrical. but either way, i would perfer to get the btl but dont have enough money to get a new alternator and the big 3 okay, now either way if i were to go with the btl or bl, what would i want to configure the woofers too? like this list thing Ohm: P Chamfer: Cooling: Flatwind: Daily or SPL: Extreme Lead: Universal: Dustcap: i would be using this dai…

I know from the two subs that their unstoppable but, i cannot really decide. I've been a huuge fan of Fi car audio and has been my favorite for years now untill i ran into ssa audio. The two are almost the same to me. I dont really know the difference between the two of them. Their both the same price and can take about the same amount of watts rms rated. Both have 1 ohm DVC. If there is anyone out there that has heard from these two subwoofers please help me. Is one for SQ and the other for SPL or something? I want something that can take a enormous amount of power and can take a lot of excursion. I wanted something that has a huge amount of kick and can be heard outside…

  16. Pretty much as the title implies.... I've got a 2004 Yukon XL, and I'm updating the entire system. Just replaced my alternator with a 253amp model from a 3500 series pickup (factory option! bolted right in!), will shortly be wiring up a second 1000cca battery. Dual 1/0 runs to the rear, fused at both ends. Currently only running (1) amp, and old Lightning Audio 1001.d @ 1 ohm, will be swapping that out, most likely to a Skar RP-1501.D. Two Powerbass S10-d (dual coil) subs in a 2.7-ish cu ft box built into the rear quarter panel. Tuning is way too low, probably about 24-25Hz. Factory speakers in the doors and rear pillars, will soon be changing them out - probably doing a …

About a small XBL^2 Full Range driver, capable of replacing a tweeter, and playing down to about 300Hz? Sound like something you fella's would be interested in? I know this has been long anticipated for some, including myself... I was thinking one day... Why wait? I have been contemplating having something like I described built.. And starting a little business of my own. It would be small scale, but if I could garner some success from it who knows. Their might not even be room for someone else out there! But I would like to know the interest level before I start throwing all my money into it. So let me hear it! Yes! No! You are an idiot! Tell me your thoughts Jord…

Would you guys be kind enough to recommend a pair of good tweeters... info. Budget- $200 - $250 for the pair Would be connected to a single channel with 160W rms in parellel, 2 ohm load (active). 24. Hello, I am going to be putting a 12" XCON in a ported box into my Passat. I was looking at the Crescendo 2000D to power it at 1ohm. Since I'm on stock electronics I was thinking I will just keep it at about half gain maybe slightly higher and see how everything does. I do plan to do some upgrades or possibly add a second battery. My trunk comes designed to house a battery so "I THINK" it would be an easy addtion. Do the Gain's work like that? If the AMP is rated at 2250RMS and the gain is set at halfway does that mean I will rougly be putting 1125RMS to the sub? Any Enclosure recomendations? Right now i'm planning to just use the SSA optimal enclosure design,…
