  1. So I have an 08 Grand Prix GXP currently with one 12" xcon in a khaotic enclosure and it beats hard and sounds good. Powered by a stetsom 1.5k. But I havent done a project in a while and I kinda want more bass in my car. Recently added memphis pf 6.5's and 6x9's powered by my p400-4. I found 2 12" 1500 series dd's a guy has for sale with a custom built box with 6.5 cf for $225. Would this beat harder than my xcon. I know its a good deal but if it dont get me anywhere no need for the buy. If this isnt a upgrade let me know what you guys think would be a better 2 sub combination than my single xcon or even a better single combo just figured might as well throw another sub i…

Looking for the best option for sound quality loud. forum keeps eediting S Q L Looking for a 10" for a sealed enclosure I have laying around that is .66 cubic feet and will be ran with 500 watts at 2ohm. So far my options what I have found through my research, is there anything else not on my radar? Out of these options what would be best? I might consider a 12" if it will take up less than 1 cubic foot. Image dynamics ID or IDQ SSA dcon or maybe gcon (enough power?) Sundown EV or maybe SA (enough power?) DC level 2 Alpine type s As far as the ID vs IDQ, the ID has a much lower FS, what difference would this make? I want som…

  3. I've been looking for some 8s that have a very shallow mounting depth, to use in my doors to get some good midbass. So far all I've come up with are the JL TW5, and they're 13 inch. I'd really like to find something closer to 8 inch. I know that I could use deeper ones and glass the doors out, but then I think I would always be rubbing on them with my leg while driving. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate them.

I'm looking for midbass speakers for an install. Processing: more than likely a minidsp Power: will be chosen once the midbass is picked out. Midrange speakers: TB W3 or W4, so I imagine 300-400 Hz is the LP for midbass Depth: 3", although I might can stretch it to 4". It's going ON the doors of a Mercedes W124, I'm unsure how much I can cut into the door and go back, so the shallower, the better. Overkill is the main goal here, that's how the owner does everything on the car The midbass will be attached to the door by means of a plywood "box" and vented in the door. High-ish output is desired and this had me thinking about a pair of 6.5-7" midbass / door. The …

So I'm going to start building a loud setup soon, as my Q is fine for daily and sounds great, I want to build something to get really loud. I just want to move some serious air, what would I be happier with? Incriminator DP 21" in about 9-10 cubes, tuning (30-33hz?) Two 18"s, (AA Havoc, eD 19Ov.2, Fi Q/BTL, Mach5 IXL), in about 10 cubes, same tuning. Post your suggestions.

this would most likely go in a ford fusion and i love to listen to chopped and screwed music (im bumpin some real talk by trae chopped up right now ) so i obviously like it low.Ive made some previous post about 2 BL's with a mtx 92001 but now that im seeing the icons in all these crazy setup im thinkin i want a pair!! the videos are blowin my mind, my budget is no more then 2000 grand for everything, and i know the BL set up will be more unless i buy everything used but i really dont like doin that.So what setup will MOST likely get lower/louder (loud to me is having bass that is head pounding in ur face bass ) but i also love btutal low end bass. So what do you think wil…

So I've heard some amazing things about this sub and willing to plunge into if you guys can agree and give some advice... Review Info I've found: DIYMA Caraudio.com Current sub amp is a Kenwood KAC-X810d - I believe these stats are: 12v output : 300w @ 4ohms or 600w @ 2ohms 14v output : 400w @ 4ohms or 800w @ 2ohms I used to have a dual bandpass setup with 2 10" JLs and feel I've outgrown the boomy sound and low sq... w3 version of the JL sub btw... I am looking at the SSA Dcon 12" and was wondering if it can take the 600w daily because this is my ride to work... If so I would purchase the Dual 4ohm version and run the amp at 2ohms knowing fully that I might not…

After looking through diycable.com, I came across the Exodus Maelstrom line subwoofers. I am getting the Ex-Anarchys and when I saw the 21" monster I did some investigating. I have seen that it is apparently a beast of a home theater sub so I thought I would run an idea by you guys. How about two of these in a 20 ft.^3 box tuned to somewhere in the neighborhood of 24Hz? I was thinking maybe a couple of sundowns, 2500ds or 3500ds, or something like that to run them. I would be looking for absurd low end response, and I know it's not a SPL sub by any means, but what kind of output would that yield? This is just an idea and I am not even sure about going through with a …

  14. Does anyone know of a thiele-small parameter database or where I could go to get this info for a slightly older sub? In this case I have an original RE Audio SE 12 d2 that I am trying to build a box for but I cant find the needed info. I called the company and the lady said they don't have the info since they were discontinued. P.S. there have been two versions released since the one I have. Any help would be great.

Hi folks and Mark, I purchased an MAW-12 earlier this year to build into a home audio set-up for my apartment, to also match with another DIY speaker project I completed this year. I built it in a sealed top-firing configuration with a separation between the driver and the top plate. The bottom is heavily reinforced and the sub now sits on a square cement plate covered with foam window insulation. I did all this in an effort to minimize floor vibrations and to help prevent too many enemies forming against me while I begin the DIY audio thing. I'll post a picture and a link to see the sub with the other components of the system it is matched with. I'd like to say t…

Not sure if that first three post rule really applies but here goes my first.. Just purchased new Acura tl and have the following dimensions to work with for an 18 of these subs: Xcon FI q Fi btl n3, sq options Havoc 18 rl-p Firing towards hatch(20h x 32w x 32d) Firing towards trunk (16h x 32w x 40d) Can power with whatever amount needed, have some amps bsheeted ~1650, but can purchase new and probably will for SQ reasons. My plan is a smaller ported box tuned very low with plenty of port area that I can plug to make a large sealed with added blocks inside, possibly a horn or QW for competition in future. All boxes will be firing thru the rear middle hatch and sealed off…

I have DB drive S5 6.5" comps up front right now and my Sony coaxials went out in the back. So I was thinking on moving my DBs to the back and getting some more comps up front. What comps would give me the best clarity for around $150 or less? I have about 50 watts per channel right now but plan to upgrade my amp later.

  24. So I'm looking for sub. Nothing huge, a 10" would most likely be best. I would prefer a small footprint, so I was looking at some of the slimmers subs out there. Kickers, JL, etc. What is the deal with slim subs? Do they perform as well as their deeper counterparts? Any benefits to them other than the small boxes needed? ANd on the topic of boxes, I read how you needed a proper box to make the sub sing, but I am curious. 1) how do you determine port length? 2) pro/con of doing a bended port? 3) the box can easily be too small, but can a box be too big? Just some questions while I am learning everything.

Hey guys, Hopefully ya'll can give me some help here. I have two 12" JL Audio W6v2 in a sealed box powered by a Big Bang Planet Audio D-CLass 1250.1 x 1 amp. Subs sound good but been having them since 2005 and want to upgrade to something bigger and with more output. I have not heard the Xcons and those are the subs I intend to get. I am looking into one 18" or two 15's. They will be powered by the same amp named above, and I will be looking into getting either sub(s) into a Khaotik Ported enclosure. I would have this setup in a 2007 Yukon. Question: Will I be better, in terms of output, getting just ONE 18, or TWO 15's? 2nd Question: Do I go with dual 1ohm or …
