Well I am pretty sure I have made up my mind and just wanted to know what you guys thouht of the SS RF-60C speakers. I have been reading decent reviews and found them for about 175$ shipped. Are they worth it? Also how much power should I amp these speakers with? is there a key like don't go over 25% max rms for amplifying or something? http://techronics.com/caraudio_9003_Soundstream-RF-60C-Reference-6-5-inch-Component-Car-Audio-Speakers.html

I have narrowed my search to a 12 sub to the either a single FI SSD or a Sundown SA 12. I plan on using a ZX 1000 at a 2ohm load in the back of a suburban. if you were in my shoes and needed a 12 sub to run in a sealed inclosure and had about 300.00 to spend on a sub which would you chose and why. Feel free to suggest other brands. thanks

ok, I am going to be getting some equipment for christmas, as well as some money I bet to spend on it myself. I figured I should start my research to see what I should ask for. Im looking at getting a sundown sae1200D, audioque AQ1200D or maybe saving some money and getting an autotek or hifonics 15/1600 watt amp. looking at others, but whatever I get, I should at least end up with at least 1200 true watts. my main question is how many subs to look at before I really do my research to pick one. I dont want to spend any more than about 300 bucks on the sub/subs. Im looking at 3 10's or 12's sealed, 2 12's or 15's ported, or one badass 12 or 15 ported. so like 3 - IA 187 10…

Ok. Here's the story. I got a check for 190 bucks. I figure, I'll buy my first sub. (Sold the RE SE-x to a buddy, change of plans) I'm doing 2 12's, so I buy a IA Lethal Injection. Couple days go by, no updates. So I email, and the guy at Vertexaudio.com tells me he's gonna shoot a call to Nick. (great guys to do business with btw) Turns out, they're out of stock on a certain part of the sub and Nick estimates 3-4 weeks on a restock. Now I read about his recent health troubles so I'd take his word for it, but in the meantime why not play the market. But lets backtrack now. Before I ordered the Lethal Injection, I was dead set on two SA-12's, however I heard that my measly…

So I'm going to start building a loud setup soon, as my Q is fine for daily and sounds great, I want to build something to get really loud. I just want to move some serious air, what would I be happier with? Incriminator DP 21" in about 9-10 cubes, tuning (30-33hz?) Two 18"s, (AA Havoc, eD 19Ov.2, Fi Q/BTL, Mach5 IXL), in about 10 cubes, same tuning. Post your suggestions.

hey im looking for some 6.5" components and i cant decide...ive been talking with some other guys from another forum, and he told me not to really spend a ton on components becuase i will be wasting money becuase i really wont be able to tell a difference for what i want them for. im not going for an A+ sq system...when i get my subs im getting 2 15" RE MT's with an orion 2500d on each...i just want loud bass. so basically i want 2 sets of 6.5" components that'll just keep up with that much bass...i dont want the bass to like drown out the mids and highs. the guy ive been talking to has like a wall of 4 15" mtx 9500s and he has like 4 sets of audiobahn components glassed …

well i just got my first listen to a 15" SI-D2, and i must say that i am even more impressed than i was planning to be. i was expecting nothing less than spectacular, what i got was slightly beyond amazing. the box i was using is a 5 cube box tuned to 43 Hz. it is a CRX style box being used in a sedan with the woofer firing upwards and the ports venting to the rear of the trunk. i know that this set up is less than ideal, however it was what i had on hand, and i dont have the time to build an appropriate box for it right now. even with this minor set back though, i am still very pleased with the result. the SI D2 delivers very taught, punchy, intense, and chest poundi…

Right there ... oh yeah. Will be running ~ 1000 watts. I'll make the enclosure fairly large - can always take away airspace if need be. It'll be sealed this time around (no way I'm going to try and figure out a port), question remains ... how big ? - Steve

Hey guys, Hopefully ya'll can give me some help here. I have two 12" JL Audio W6v2 in a sealed box powered by a Big Bang Planet Audio D-CLass 1250.1 x 1 amp. Subs sound good but been having them since 2005 and want to upgrade to something bigger and with more output. I have not heard the Xcons and those are the subs I intend to get. I am looking into one 18" or two 15's. They will be powered by the same amp named above, and I will be looking into getting either sub(s) into a Khaotik Ported enclosure. I would have this setup in a 2007 Yukon. Question: Will I be better, in terms of output, getting just ONE 18, or TWO 15's? 2nd Question: Do I go with dual 1ohm or …

I don't have a car yet being 15, but I still love audio, I have a 330rms amp in my room, yes, it's wimpy, but I'll save the big stuff for my car, any recommendations for a 12 that will work on that wattage in a small ported box?

I'm looking for midbass speakers for an install. Processing: more than likely a minidsp Power: will be chosen once the midbass is picked out. Midrange speakers: TB W3 or W4, so I imagine 300-400 Hz is the LP for midbass Depth: 3", although I might can stretch it to 4". It's going ON the doors of a Mercedes W124, I'm unsure how much I can cut into the door and go back, so the shallower, the better. Overkill is the main goal here, that's how the owner does everything on the car The midbass will be attached to the door by means of a plywood "box" and vented in the door. High-ish output is desired and this had me thinking about a pair of 6.5-7" midbass / door. The …

I've been doing some research online, and I know a handful of people who manufacture and sell subwoofers frequent this forum. So was hoping I could get some info on good ways to approach building my own custom subwoofer. My goal: Purchase all the individual components of a subwoofer (motor, basket, voice coil, cone...etc) and build something nobody else has. My issue: Other than a few sites selling certain parts, or trying to pickup blown subs/recone kits, I can't find a reliable source for buying the individual pieces. This makes it very difficult to piece together multiple subs that are the same. Does anyone know of good places to pickup parts? I kno…

Well, i was just wondering what kind of sub would be the best to get some spl out of a 1 cf box with maybe a little poly fil... Would have to be able to be powered off of a kicker zx750.1 and less than 7" mounting depth... Would like to keep it around 200 bucks but less would be nice and more may be doable but just post anything you think would be good... Sealed box of course and a 12"... Been looking at fi ssd, anything better than that output wise?

I'm planning on upgrading my system within the next month or so, currently I have a Kicker L5 15" running on 1k watts rms in a 4 ft^3 tuned around 40 hz. It's gets low, but doesn't get low enough... I'm leaning towards the Sundown X-18, or maybe a Sundown SA-15. I've heard the X series can take a hell of a lot more power than what they are rated for (1250W) I believe. Which is what i'm leary about, would I be better off getting a X-18 wired down to 1 ohm at 1400RMS, or go with a SA-15 wired at 2ohm at 1k rms? How much can these subs truly take?

I have DB drive S5 6.5" comps up front right now and my Sony coaxials went out in the back. So I was thinking on moving my DBs to the back and getting some more comps up front. What comps would give me the best clarity for around $150 or less? I have about 50 watts per channel right now but plan to upgrade my amp later.

Hey I'm looking to buy a single zcon for now but plan on adding another eventually. I want to run it on a crescendo 3500kw amp, and will upgrade to a 200 amp alt and a yellow top optimal. Is one enough? My car was just totaled and ruined my old setup. So now I'm buying a new car. Haven't decided exactly what car Im getting. But I know for sure I am getting a big car. Maybe an explorer. Most likely an explorer. So I'm wondering would you suggest a 15 or an 18 zcon

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and was hoping u experts can help me decide on a sub(s)/amp combo that would best suit my taste. I want either 2-10s or 1-12, I listen to mostly R&B and some Rap. I will probably get custom ported box build to spec or suggestions for my listen preference. I was looking at the Fi Audio Q, SSA Icon, SS Rl-p for 12s and the Fi Audio SSDs, SSA Dcons, SS Rl-i, Boston Acoustics G3s for 10s... I have about $1200 to spend and want to keep amp rms to a 1000watts or less cause I don't wanna upgrade my electrical and it should enough for daily listening.. All help is appreciated and any other suggestion are welcomed...

I have a 2 door Honda civic. Bass would be in trunk. I currently have 1 sa10 in a ported box tuned 30-31 hz powered by kicker zx 400.1 I love this setup but I want more bass My thoughts are 2 sa10s ported tuned 32-34hz powered by kicker 1000.1 Or 1 sa15 ported tuned 32-34hz powered by kicker 750.1 Which would be louder in my trunk? I guess this is kind of a cone area vs power thing .. Either way would work for me .. I've been researching stuff but haven't really found an answer so I'm hoping you guys can help me out lol. And sorry if I left out any information. Thanks for reading!

So after some talking here on the forum, I have a Orion 2500D on the way. I was thinking of putting 2 FiAudio 18" Q's in a Jeep cherokee, box would net about 12.5 total cubes, so a little over 6 cubes per 18". Say goodbye to cargo space.... However I have seen some comparision of this brand vs. that brand... and am at a loss. The TC-sound subs look good, some say(on ROE forum) better than Fi-Q in SQ & SPL, due to higher BL. Yet I have not found many spl test on them, but wouldn't doubt it being possible. The Massive audio WC sub looks decent too, putting up 145.8 for one 12" sub on the TL, on the ROE vids... very impressive, looks kinda cheap though...? Anyways just…

ok I want to upgrade my system. I'm either going for 2 fi sp4 18" in a big ported box or 8 sundown sa15 in a forth order. I know they're really different systems but what would you choose??? (not planning to compete, just a daily groundpounder) thanks for the advice
