So yet again for the umpteenth time I am changing my sub bass setup. Now that I have an excellent sounding front stage an over powering sub system ruins it. My front stage is also very loud, loudest front stage I ever had. Although I am not looking for the output I have had in previous sub bass setups it still needs have a volume level to match my front stage. One thing I can not have is a large enclosure. Largest possible would be 3 cubes gross. I am thinking about going IB. I would not have to mess around with an enclosure and from what I have read they are the most accurate sounding sub bass types. I keep eyeing up the Fi IB3 series but what other options are there? M…

I don't have much room at all, so driver needs to be less than 3.5" depth. Looking for a dual 10" setup for sealed application. Was browsing what's available and came across: Pionneer TS-SW2501S4. (3" depth, 300RMS and 20-290Hz freq. range) Rockford Fosgate Punch P3SD410 (3.5", 300RMS and 45-250Hz freq. range) Now, judging by spec Pioneer would be the one to get, more shallow and more broad range, including <30Hz. These are manufacturer specs so you never know though. Don't want to spend anymore that $150 each, and something that plays a wide range including <30Hz, as flat response as possible. So far that Pioneer looks like a winner.

  3. So, I'm currently using the time alignment feature on my prs80. Tweeters are on the pillars about eye level .The mids are in the doors , in the stock location . I was thinuking of adding a pair of hertz esk 165 in some qform kick panels . I would be wiring them parallel to the doors . Would time alignment be affected significant enought to cause a problem .?The kicks would be about 8 in farther away, and almost on axis .

I ask this question running the risk of it possibly being an ignorant question, but ask it in unique interest nonetheless. Seems like when I got involved in forum browsing a while back all the hype surrounded motors utilizing xbl2 technology for their subs (adire, ascendant, re). I remember ascendant audio discontinuing the use of this tech. due to adire supposedly claiming the tech. was theirs and theirs alone to use blah blah this is all very vague. My question is with so much I heard about xbl2 and the performance that gave it a name, I can't even find those letters mentioned together anywhere on the internet later than 2006?? Did it just die out lol I thnk you see wha…

i came across PAP WMD 18's for only 175 per on their website. does anyone have any input on these things? power handling? (says 1,000) weight? whats theyre best tuned at and box size? how they hit lows or are they straight comp subs? anything is appreciated cuz 175 for a normally 400 dollar woofer seems too low, or maybe something worth jumping all over

  7. Here is the ssa 15" xcon in a infinite baffle setup, it is a temporary setup so it doesn't look nice, this was to just see how it would do in infinite baffle, to just let you know it is only getting roughly 200-250watts of power. Oh, and by the way, this inst the guy who actually uses this account, im the friend hes next door looking for mdf. video 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtWSgJyrHDU video 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOTSggsL7SU video 3 - Outside - were outside the house in this one.. not that interesting. and im the one talking, not the owner of this account. he told me to post em up here while he was outside. so again, this is just something we did in…

  8. I just got my new ssa xcon today in the mail. i hooked it up in a 3.6 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 32hz. It is only its test box until I can afford a proper enclosure. Its getting 1600rms from a hif\onics brutus amp, and this thing sounds great and goes loud, I will post up pictures and videos tomorrow once I fine tune it to the best it can get under the circumstances. I can't wait until I can get a new amp and enclosure this thing will rock. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

For strictly LSQ would u go: 3.5 Sealed -or- 7 Ported tuned to 30hz ??????????????? or IXL-18.4 ported 7 cu. ft tuned to 28hz or 5 cu ft. sealed the speaker(s) would be going in a 1977 Buick Regal Coupe

Can anyone tell me what's so special about the 9500 series and below? Why is the 3515 series map $500? The AQ HDC3 is way less, the Fi BL is way less, Hell the BTL N2 is less as well. Please, I feel really retarded that I don't hang from DD's nuts since their products are so superior. Please tell me why I should get a DD3500 series sub and pay $500 map pricing or tell me what I am not understanding. I posted here to get non-nuthuggery answers.

Just checking to see if anyone had any experance with C2 audio's line of subs? I just Purchased a pair of there Threatcon-4 dual 2ohm subs for what I think was cheap ($199 each shipped) and they seem to be well built. But there is limited videos and user info on them. They say they handle 1500 rms and have a 4" coil. They are a brick and morter store in ohio so Hopefully they will hold there own and someone can chim in that has used them. Tried to post t/s parameters but the picture with the white backround doesn't come out readable.

I see a lot of heavy subs or multiple sub boxes being used with double baffles. Is there really any pros or cons to that vs adding some bracing inside the box? I'd think it wouldn't matter much, but I can learn something new here every day!

  16. I would like suggestions for some 8" mid-bass drivers that can easily keep up with my 15" xcon. I would prefer the cost to stay under $150. And to just let you know, I love mid-bass just as much as deep bass. I mean the mid-bass you can feel in your chest. From the 60-120hz range is what I need these to cover. Thanks

  18. Hey All, Trying to figure out how I want to setup my daily driver and would like some input from some experts (as I am not 1). I have 2 12" XCON D1's and 2 Orion 2500d's. The Plan: Wire each XCON in parallel to provide a .5 ohm load The 2500d's are not strappable but they should be stable at .5 with my electrical So the thing is, I did some testing on 1 of my 2500d's and was getting approximately 2200 rms on stock electrical in my friends truck (which was probably only putting out around 12V or so). By wiring my subs down to .5 ohm's I feel that the amp will be able to supply at least 2500-3000k rms to each sub. Would this be way too much for each 12" XCON (I don…

Ok, I was getting ready to order some 10 gauge Knu speaker wire. Then I called a friend and he said he had about 40 feet of 8 gauge Knu wire. My question is can I use the 8 gauge or would it be overkill for the power I'm running? I will be upgrading amps in the future so if I use the 8 gauge I'll be set.

I'm in the last stages of deciding my setup. I decided on 2 18's and want to know how these three compare to each other. I'm going to have 11 cubes tuned around 31-32 to work with and 2 Crecendo 2k's. I'm looking for a SPL sub,but with Monster lows to flex everything. That's about all I have to ask.

I'm going to go active for the first time and need some help. Eventually I'll pair my SSA Evil Mids and XCON 10" with Evil tweeters, but spring break is coming and I'd like to install what I have and run a temporary and inexpensive tweeter until the Evil tweeters come to market. Info: 2013 Jeep Wrangler, mids will go into the speaker pods mounted in the dash, on axis. The stock tweeter location is on 'tombstone' pods on axis on the top of the dash. I don't have any flexibility on speaker location as I frequently have the doors off. I take it off road and it gets a little wet so kick panels aren't an option either. I'll be powering the front stage with an NV…
