Hey guys, just bought a double decker pontoon boat and want to throw some Loudspeakers up top for some island parties and raft ups I hit during the summer. I'm shooting for extremely loud and bass heavy (seems to be what most people like) and have a budget of $1k for the setup. I was planning on getting two JBL Eon 15's based off my DJ friend's recommendation but I figured I'd ask here as well. I plan to power the setup with a Honda EU2000i genny (not yet purchased) or perhaps the Ryobi 2000. I have been in contact with many, many companies over the last few weeks. Companies that sell drivers, customize them, sell just parts, repair shops, you name it. No one has surrounds capable of more than 55mm one way. I keep getting told excess of 30mm Xmax is easy, 10" and 11" spiders not a problem. But surrounds. Surrounds is the issue. So then I emailed many, many, many companies looking for just surrounds. Stone walled. I am willing to pay $600 per 18"... either 4 for my van, or 6, 2 more for my home theater. $3600 for 6 18's. Alright, well i told a friend that i would help him out with getting some subs in his car. He really isnt into getting loud, he just wants a little extra. So i told him like a smaller sized sub, like an 8" or 10" would be good. He doesnt want to spend too much on this setup so i was wondering if you guys could help me out with some subwoofers that might be a good choice. Probably close to around $200. Ill buy used if i need to, just need some help on what some good options would be.

Hey guys, about a year ago i built one of the blueprint boxes from adire audio, the largest one they offerd im not sure exactly what it was im thinking the spl box, its the one were the driver is down firing and theres a 15" PR in front(the ebs box?)? well anyways i had some bad luck with my shiva and it wasnt working properly, so now im looking for a replacement and i stumbled upon this shiva-x. If im not mistaken Kyle Richardson your the same person that was with adire right? if so im sure you will know what box im talking about, or if anyone else knows thatd be great also. Pretty much im just asking if this shiva-x will be a good replacement for my box? Thanks Jon

Just tryin to see how close the two are. the Mag will be n a 03 chevy impala in a 2 cubic box tuned to 32 runnin off a sundown 1500d the rf punch hx2's are in a 02 chevy impala in a 3 cubic sealed box runnin off a rf 1501bd Just see if the mag can get as low and loud as the Hx2's?

But what subs should I look at? Ill be running 2 Mmats 2000.1d's . Supposedly rated at 2000@1ohm rms. I know the slightly older d2000.1s were rated at 1500. I dunno. Its a 1995 z28 . My son wants to do an spl car next year. I have no issues losing my cargo area or back seat.

So I was at a car show the other day and heard a setup with 4 sets of components in the doors. I was astonished by the loudness and clarity. I want to do something similar. I am on a budget and am looking to spend around $600 as far as speakers go. So yes (8) total midbasses and (8) total tweeters. I have looked on parts express and it is possible. I just don't know what to get and what would best suit my needs. I am looking for loudness and clarity. Obviously sound quality or staging is not of importance. I need help. Im looking for 60% SQ 40% SPL. I want it to get loud but still sound good. Which is better for this. I was looking at a cadence txa-1000d and a sundown sae-1000d amp. From what i have read most people pick sundown hands down. Would ~650 watts push a soundsplinter hard because it says 500-1000k rms on the website. I'm open to suggestions on amps. I'm just trying to figure out which is a better sq sub at the moment. And this would probably go in a ported box ~1.5 cubes @ low 30's.

Its really nice and shakes my truck. If your looking for a small sub i reccomend this.

i still have two new Sundown Audio SA-8v3 subs left over from a previous project. i would like to re-purpose them for my daily driver which is sq focused. can the SA-8 be musical ? if so, how do i accomplish this without switching them out for something different. Sundown website states sealed enclosures are not recommended. local dealer tells me that once you port the SA series, they become more spl oriented subs.

So I have most of the system planned. Truck is a super cab 2014 F150. Subs will be two RE REX 10s Dual 4s. Each sub will get .72 cubic feet sealed. Box is going under the rear seat. Sub amp will be SAE-1000D Comp set amp will be Rockford Fosgate P300x2. I am not sure what comps to go with. Going to be a 6.5" set. Budget up to around 200 ish dollars for them. Top mount depth cant be more than 2 3/8th inch. Have been looking at Kappa 60.11cs, Alpine Type R, JL c2-600 is close enough with a spacer. I might need to spend a little less to get a smaller driver, because I cant space the speaker out from the door too much with out hitting the door panel, and I am not …

i couldnt take it no more guys! i was dying from the inside out because i was missing my favorite hobby of all. while i was half waisted last night (not trying to brag) i got to watching all my old videos of the hccas and zcons... so i got on craigslist this morning and hit a dude up. i ended up trading the 3 OS vfl 10s i had and $50 for 2 kicker l5 12s in a box. now before everyone starts in on the whole kicker thing, i dont have enough $ to get some nice sundown or ssa stuff.. the l5s are just a start. i have like $120 in them so i dont think thats bad at all... so glad to be back in the game!! And they are MINT condition...

just got my shipping email today, man im so excited. still undecided on if i should just leave the jl in for now or go ahead n put the sundown in. i really want 2 xcons and 2 sundown 1500s for an upcoming show but im trying to get a box built. i think that would hit pretty hard in the cab of my truck. even tho everybody has seen em already imma still post pics when it gets here lol
