What would you guys buy if you had 250 dollars and you could only have a coaxial speaker. What 5.25" would you buy?

Just out of curiousity, which would have more output with 1000 watts? I know both have great SQ. 1 Icon 15 ported or 2 RL-i 10s ported? Each setup for a LSQ setup, not a SPL or SQ setup.

Ok guys here is the deal. I am putting together a system for a buddy with a budget of $800 for sub, amp and seperates. Details: 2004 Hyundai Sonata Source- Alpine INA-W910 4- Channel- Diamond D3 500.4 He WANTS rear 6x9's and 6.5" components for the front. I narrowed it down to: Rockford T1693 & T1652-S or Alpine SPR69 & SPR60C Now, for the sub. He is going to buy a Diamond HEX750.1 (1 ohm stable). My debate is going with either 2 12" DCONS ported or 1 12" GCON ported. Space is not an issue and I will be building a box to suit the needs of the sub. Any reccomendations on the sub choice or components???

I am curious about the Fi subwoofers. I have never heard them in person. I was planning on getting the JL W6V2 however I see that a LOT of people own Fi subs on this board. I can see that they are cheaper but are they actually better than JL? Another sub I was looking at was the Orion HCCA 12.4. I am going for SQ mainly however there are times when I want to really rip things apart with that bass. Thanks in advance for the help

Searching through my local craigslist and stumbled upon a TW5 13.5 for $75. It however has a large crack in what I believe to be the dust cap? I've just never seen a dust cap made out of a material like the one I'm looking at which arises my suspicion as to whether or not it is actually a dust cap. Through my googling, I read that re-coning JL audio woofers is strictly done by JL audio. If this is just a dust cap issue, I can fix this myself correct? I've heard of people using epoxy/silicone for this process. Obviously I would like to fix the crack in the woofer and use it. Is this as easily fixable as I suspect? Thanks for your time! Here's a photo to explain more in de…

What difference if any does the width of the port make? I understand the tuning and freq changes and all that but lets says you have 2 boxes size and build appropriate for 33 hrz. for 2 12's, if you could build the box with a 2 in wide square port, a 3 in flared port, or what is the down size to using a smaller port area say a 2 in round or a 1 in wide sq port. I realize that it would reduce air flow, but if you have the box built and the port tuned properly does it really matter?

Vehicle is a '07 Nissan Maxima. Looking for some low end, and I'm workin with 4-4.5 ft^3. Last system was a pair of 12W7s on about 1250 watts. I listen to mostly rap. My goal is output greater than or equal to what I had. I'm not going for a SQ system, but I would like it to be relatively accurate. Amp will be Sundown 1K or 1.5K. Any suggestions?

My homie thinks that two 200rms MTX thunders sound better than one 600rms sa12 What do y'all think? I'm pretty sure one SA12 sounds better because it will have 600rms of power to it compared to the mtxs with 400rms of power to them. Which do you think will sound better musically? The mtxs will be sealed and the sa12 ported and both powered by true rms power and same vehicle say a 99 honda civic same electrical and everything, which would sound better? Im gona go with the sa12 because mtxs aren't that good of subs and the sa12 is very good. Determining an answer will determine his decision on what to pick for his system. Two 12" MTX thunders on 400rms sealed Or One 12" …

  20. Hello everybody. I'm trying to build a small, powerful setup in my 2016 Silverado doublecab. I want to run 1 woofer. Breaking it in on ~2400 rms, then linking another amp going to 4800 once I finish the electrical. I'd like some clean sounding air movement. Not super into high notes, but I'd like to be able to hit the full range and then go down low with extreme authority. I'm looking to run this sub in a ported box as big as I can in the space I have, 2 cubes or less. Open to aeroporting. I've always ran single 15s but with the space constraints I'm open to moving down to 10 or 12. Interested in a nightshade nsv4 but can't decide/don't have the knowledge or experience to…

New woofers coming! Details will be coming on a slow but consistent basis. What can I tell you so far? More XMAX than the "SQL", higher power handling, multiple coil configurations, larger coils, bigger magnets, etc. Price? Well...you'll get a lot of bang for your buck. STAY TUNED!!!! :dj:

okay i currently have 2 15 inch mags on the way (first ones were smashed by fedex, but thanks to ben levine at www.showrides.net im getting new ones at no expense to me. his customer service is an 11/10!) i have a 1000/1 right now but i wont be able to afford another 1000/1 for a while. should i run 1 of them ported (3.75 28hz) or both sealed 3 cuft each. i will be building the box and making sure it is very sturdy. now if you think i should build one for 2 15s ported then jsut let me know. all comments appreciated. i had drawn up a plan as 8 cuft ported with 8 4 inch flared ports for 2 15s already so i could do that.... but what would you reccomend as enough port area fo…
