i cant seem to find ANY worth while information on the Rockford 8 and 10" mid bass drivers on their website. no frequency curves, t/s specs, they look like parts express PA speakers to me... does anyone have an opinion on these things? just want to know if i should even consider them I'm shopping for midbass for my doors in a 3 way active setup, I'm considering JL C7 6.5, ZR 8's, hertz 7" mili's or their 10" SPL. (really just in pre planning stages here) my truck is loud, i like my music loud, i want acceptable quality and clarity in music but have no intention of ever going anywhere near iasca...

SO... im trying to gat an idea of what im going to do for my setup in the wagon. I will be walling it off. As some of you know... I bought a new daily driver that I gotta get running. So this build will be after all that is done. I just want to get an idea of what I will be doing. my original idea was to go with 4zconsa on 4saz3ks. But I was thinking... would a bunch if Dcons get louder? My goal id obviously to get loud while sound good doing it...that's why im going with SSA. I was thinking of doing something like a clamshell if I do the icons. Maybe like 16 12's or 10's. Something like that. Maybe on 2 saz3500s. Just trying to get some opinions.

Can anyone who has had experience using, or heard firsthand, any PSI custom built subs give any pros or cons about them? For the price, I like what they claim, i've never heard one in person however. I've seen stuff here and there, but I really don't put much faith in many other forums word; this is my home forum So out of practice posting; My bad, to be more specific, I was eyeing up a set of Platform 2 15's.

  4. Ok so I see a lot of conflicting answers regarding a small box if you plan on over powering your sub. Be believe in it, others say it's a lie. My question is if you're gonna over power a sub. What would be considered smaller ? I'm thinking about 2 15s. They call for 3-4 ft3 but I'm thinking of putting them in a 5 ft3 box. After displacement and port. Im looking into the sp4v2 and putting them on a hd8k. I know they are underrated. And the taramps is over the rms slightly. So I wa wondering if this will work out well. The reason why I'm asking is because I don't wanna sacrifice more space for my box. And seeing how the 8k is more than enough for the subs, I …

I preordered the diyma 12" but need something to run in the meantime. the amp i have is 500w rms, probably underrated. i'm looking at either one of the eclipse sw 8000 lmt 10's sealed or a single rli-8 ported. The treo ssi 8" is on the list as well and it would be ported.

Hey guys, driving home tonight listening to my music normally @ around volume 22/60 The song "on my level" my wiz Khalifa played and it's probably one of my hardest hitting songs on my CD. I turned it up to 25/60 about a minute and a half into the song I'm at the red light and my sub was making a terrible noise! Like it was bottoming out. So I immediately turned my music down. When I got home I checked it out, everything seemed fine.. So I tried a little demo this time playing "Late Night Tip" by three 6 mafia and when the bass hit the sub was overflexing and "bottoming out" this time volume was only @ 21. I checked amps gains wires and batteries and everything was fine..…

I need some advise for a friend, somewhat new to the car audio scene, with a decent amount of money... For about 300 bucks, he can get a kicker L7 15in sub. For the same price, he could get a Fi Q or a Fi BL (both also 15 inch subs) they will be recieving about 800-1000wrms. Any sugestions on which would be the best. He is more of a SPL guy (thats why he is leaning towards kicker) but still wants to get a somewhat decent sq from the settup? He listens to mainly rock and metal,(metallica to All that Remains to three days grace). the box will be custom made, probably tuned to 32ish hz. No shops around here carry kicker so we have never heard any of the three. Any suggestio…

  9. Here it goes, I finally got back into town and off my butt and am installing my front stage. After a month of looking at the compromises, I have decided to go with tweeters in the A-pillar (Alpine D2904/610001) and to mount my SEAS (W18E001) in the kicks. Being my car is a 5 speed I couldn't lose much foot space either so the directional mounting won't be optimal, but surely a lot better than stock! Three pictures for this post: 1) My bare kicks--drilled to accept glass 2) My baffles--the glue is still drying so I can't do anything 3) My kicks reinforced with glass and a hole chopped for lining up my drivers with the open area in my fenders--to be vented so they will …

  10. Hello guys, I wish you all a really happy new year ! So, I bought a mini dsp for Xmas, and now I want to use it. I will study the pluggin seriously to find and set the X-over points and the different slopes. I'll take care of T/A too. I will play later with the eq available . I see they're talking about caps to protect the tweeters. How many micro Farads do I need ? How to choose what to buy ? My current amplifier is an Incriminator 3.4. I want to keep it bridged to the Seas mids. 2 x 225 w rms @ 4 Ohms, so my 8 Ohms speakers will have enough power. I need a small amplifier for the tweeters, something on the cheap. Do you have ideas ? What amp would you get ?…

I know i just started another thread where within i asked about these, but figured a new thread would get more light on the subject especially since there seems to be no reviews on these yet.. I local shop has been installing these mostly in a 10" for smaller space systems like mine. Says they are pretty awesome, and blow the rockford p3's i was looking at clean away given my type of setup. He was explaining to me this new line is from a new sound engineer(?) kicker hired not to long ago to turn their line around to a better quality sub than their recent models. Could be BS for all i know. But this guy does have a huge wall FULL of big a** trophies and records, i believe …

  12. Hi I am looking for subwoofer recommendations for 12 inch to be used in a SEALED enclosure I got 3 cubes GROSS and 2000rms to play with I want the subs to be able to get low, so f3 has to be in the mid to low 30s I also want them to get LOUD with high SPL so i guess that means it has to have strong motor and plenty xmax Some subs i was thinking of are: DC level 3 12s SSA gcon (these are 750 rms each, would 2 of them be ok on 2000rms? i dont know if these subs are underrated or not) SSA icon (these are 1250 each...would 2 of them be on on 2000rms?) IA lethal injection (no idea what the F3 is on sealed boxes on this sub) Image dynamics IDMAX v3…

Ok so recently I have really been itching to do a nice front stage to go along with my sub stage. I don't really know what active/passive really is. I also don't know if my h/u is capable of going active. I was looking to get a sax100.4. I need advice on what mids and highs to get. I am currently running all pioneer 61/2's an 4X6's. No real spending limit, well there is I guess but I can always save up moola.

Currently have a 12" Ethos in a ported (aero-port) 1.75 cu ft enclosure. It's being powered by a Crescendo 1500.1. No complaints with the Ethos. I've just been considering downsizing on the box. First thought was to toss it in to a sealed setup, but then I might end up being disappointed from the output. Other thought was to consider moving towards either two 10's or 12's in a sealed setup. Looking at a few options, it seems like I can get down in the 1.0 cu ft range with using two 10's. Since the 10's would likely put me in to the desired box size, any recommendations on this? Would this potentially be a signaficant downgrade from the single Ethos? Curious to …

We're entertaining the idea of releasing an 8" speaker. The speaker will be able to play up to 300 Hz minimum (probably higher), F3's in the mid 40's out of car (even lower in car), and vented around 27 Hz. The driver will feature a low inductance coil, very light moving mass, a stamped basket, and a competitive price. Xmax estimates are around 11 mm one-way. The 8's will be monsters in the car audio environment, sealed or ported. ~0.5 cubes sealed or 1.2 cubes ported tuned to 30 Hz. What do you think?

Please don't bash me for this. I want to know why my ssa xcon sucks at any frequency's above 60hz. I know they are mainly meant for deep bass, but every other sub ive ever owned could hit the 60-100hz range well, even my last 1000rms 15" i used to have. I know this sub is not those subs, but why is a sub that meant for SQ not able to hit those frequency's I really like the fill in there, even that some of you may think its pointless or dumb. also to add is that better component speakers would help but it would take like 6 8" woofers to get the feel i wan't and thats way way to much money for me.
