Ive come down to 2 options, the bl 18" or the hdc3 18". This will be going into a 5^ ported box powered by a SAz 1500. Im looking to get very loud and hit hard when i listen to rap but still sound pretty good when i want to listen to anything else.... i mostly listen to rap though. I want the woofer to get real low but still be able to hit the highs very nicely which comes to my main concern with the hdc3 not getting low enough. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi everyone. First time post here. Long story short, I was really into CA back in the day. Got out of it for about a decade and now I'm back into it. So, I'm thinking of purchasing a set of the Bravox CS603CF to run as front stage and a pair of the CX60CF to run in the back doors of my Mazda 6 wagon. I plan to run them passive with the midbass of the 603 set in the stock location, the tweeter in the stock a-pillar location. If possible, I plan to make some type of bridge to mount the midrange over - or possibly next to - the midbass depending on how much room I have. If none of that works then I guess I will just have to drill a hole in my door panel, but I'm hoping to a…

Well I made an impulse trade today and decided to trade my Fi BL. I picked up 2 JL Audio W6's for the BL. So far they sound very good and the difference in SQ between the BL and the W6 is not even close. Overall I'm pretty happy with these subs, and I will have more to say about them when I get a box built for them. I will probably send these bad boys to PSI to get them upgraded too

Your subs used to be like 3xx shipped, the website says 5xx shipped. When did that happen? Are the new mags going to be towards that 5xx or 3xx? -Alex

ok...soon i will be gettin two memphis 1500d's, so new subs will be in order as my treo ss's won't take that kind of abuse. i am thinking on getting the treo ssx's..so here are my questions.. 1) how does ur sub, in your opinion, stack up to a ssx? will they take 1500 wrms? ssx link<---scroll down to the specs link, plz 2) currently i am running two 15" treo ss's, each in their own box, 2.5ft^3, 25in^2 of port tuned to 34 hz off a memphis 1000d...how would the d2 work in similar enclosures? this is the set-up i will be competeing with in usaci, maybe db drag...would i benefit from ur d2? i know i can go to ur website and read up on the sub, but i would like to hear ur o…

I have 2 PWX8 4 ohm and 2 FT1 4 ohm and a Hifonics BRX640.4 which is rated at 4 x 80 RMS @ 4 ohm or 4 x 160 RMS @ 2 ohm. Should I run each speaker to their own channel or should I run one tweeter and one speaker in parallel @ 2 ohm 160 watts?

I have the cdt ef-61fg's by the way so if anyone could help me out on this it would be great cause i only have a small older alpine 40x4 on everything right now and i know my cdt comps can get alot louder and more clean.O and another thing is that i wanna have ALL speakers amped in my car cause i dont wanna bridge the amp or run a 2channel to the fronts and run the 6x9's on HU power so thats why im lookin for the bigger 4channel. As the topic states: Are there plans for making grills for the D2, or do you have any recommendations on what to get? I really need one so I can keep stupid bastards from touching the driver when booming or piercing it with something. Slapped one that touched it once... He'll never do it again, hehehe

I don't normally make these threads but.....(says every guy ever...:D) Anyways, right now I have a 12" DCON getting 350wrms from an Alpine MRX M55 subwoofer amp. The amp will do up to 550wrms @ 2ohm so i'm looking to find a subwoofer that will do well with that power, and would obviously need to be single 2 ohm or dual 4. I absolutely love this sub, but i'm just ready to try something new with more output, and all the affordable- to- me SSA subs that do well with this power aren't in stock yet. I have a 2002 Grand Prix and the current box I have is 2.25cf @ 30hz. I can build a box up to around 3.5cf with the space I have, and I want something that works well por…

Well I set off an Audi TT's car alarm with it yesterday. Right now the 8 is fighting through two layers of sound deadened steel to get sound into the cab, but it sounds great. For an 8, it goes incredibly low. The only things it doesn't pick up very well are subsonics, but down to 20 Hz is flat in my car. I'm doing my best to take care of it even though my amp could fry it in a second, but other than worrying about blowing it when I have it turned up the woofer is performing great. SQ-wise, the 8 disappears, which is great. The 8 will be KILLER for a two-way horn setup. That's literally all that would be necessary, a horn and our 8 per side.

Hows it going. i have a quad cab truck, have a box built that goes front to back for 4 12" woofers. It is 67" long, 16" wide and about 36" tall at its tallest I believe. Should i run JL 12w7s, the new Kicker CVR or VX (which is heavily pressed to me by the local custom shop that recently carries Kcker), Treo SSP or TE (or other model?) or pooooossibly the FI Q 12s. Let me know what you guys think. If i go with the 12w7, what amps would I need? Two 1001/1s ? any issues with those? My goals are 1. Loud and Clean. 2. a nice medium (55/45) of loudness, to musical application 3. a reliable setup that will sound good for time to come. I will be runni…

Will be doing 2 in my Excursion so cubes arent really that much of an issue. Which one and why or suggestions of others not on this list but currently looking at RE XXX, ZCon, BTL or nightshade. Going to use Crescendo power 5500s havent picked mid bass or highs for up front either but going with a Pioneer double din more than likely. So any and all help appreciated advise me what you would use and why. I listen to a broad array of music rap, rock, country, metal, death metal, techo, trance and even classical sometimes. Im getting into this game a bit late being almost 40 but its something Ive always wanted to do. Again any and all help setting this project up is gre…

I seen these speakers, and thought to my self what a way to get your image up and a fuller sound out of your Front stage with a good active set up. http://www.woofersetc.com/p5352/ES02--CDT-...vers-(Pair).htm They are a 2" tweeteresk mid range speaker with a freq range down to 500 hrz up to 20k. For someone wanting a 2 way active setup these might be ideal. get your image up, get your sound stage up and alittle more flexible as far as A pillar placement with out have a crazy install. I just wondered if anyone had heard, used or even seen a set of these used before. I wonder how practical and what kind of sound do they really produce. For somone in my situation where…

It seems like I need to build a new box for the BMW cabrio install I fixed. The car currently has a shitty ported box, which fires towards the back in a "tub" formed by a cosmetic fiberglass panel. Port fires to the front, into the ski port. Sub orientation has to stay as it is now, I don't want to build that cosmetic fiberglass panel. The main goal is to have a loud'ish sounding setup when the hardtop is off, trunk open and closed and something that can put up a half-decent score with the hardtop on. My first idea was to seal up the sub against the cosmetic FG panel as good as I can, use that as the sealed chamber of a bandpass box and have the ported chamber fire throug…

Just finishing my first recone, changed my 12" icon to an 18. Everything is done except soldering the leads... They're not sandwiched leads; but the loose leads with the pad on the cone to prevent tinsel slap. The tinsel leads seem really long. How much slack should I leave?

SO, after too much measurements, calculations...ect. I could do a vented enclosure, 1.5" thick mdf all the way around, port it...and after sub disp., still net 5 cubes per sub. My question now is, what would be best in this "small box 4 sub" type of enclosure... RL-P, Fi Q, BL,.... would like to get loud but sound good, and these subs fit in that requirement 4 sure... "also need to see 1 ohm at amp(orion 2500D)" side note. or, maybe 2 DP's? more spl oriented of course. I was searching threw the SS forum, and someone said 5 cubes would be choking them...? is this true?, should I go Fi Q/BL w/options...? or should I stick with a couple 15"s...? as 2-15" properly boxe…

I am trying to stray my stepfather from going mainstream again and he wants a pair of kicker cvr's which I hear are good subs. But I see that the Maw's are cheaper and heard they sound better any way he is looking to through them in a sealed box as all he really likes is nice rear fill something to give him that nice kick drum in the rear as he listens to a lot of go-go music. Well some of you may be confused as to what is go-go music and the best way I can put it is this way imagine rock n roll with alot of percussions , bass guitars, keyboards, singer, rapper, and they do a lot of covers. So please inform me as to what would be a better setup for him. and will when SS A…

Seen the vvx can be ran in small sealed boxes and know the play lowend pretty good.. Figured i may switch from 1 18 to 2 15 due the fact of more cone area.... Amp is a mmats dhcx2200.1
