I have been looking at the kicker L7's but have now seen the icons, wondering how the two would compare in a ported box, using 2 woofers

Your subs used to be like 3xx shipped, the website says 5xx shipped. When did that happen? Are the new mags going to be towards that 5xx or 3xx? -Alex

I have had a pair of IXL 12's sitting around since last summer. With the DBDrag coming up locally in a couple weeks I felt it was time to get my arse in gear. Heres the Basic design with the exception that I decided not to do a driver flush mount and therefore increased the width of the top port piece from 4.5" to 5. This box is 3.2cubes net. We did an impedance sweep and its exact tuning is 33hz. Two weeks ago I got my pieces cut and asembeled. Sorry I fogot to take pictures of the bare box. Nothing special though. Alright, right now I am in the market for a single 15 inch sub. I have a clean 500w to work with. I was considering three different subs. The Sundown E-15, the SKAR IVX 15, and the Obsidian OA-15. I am looking to get something under $180. So far I have somewhat disregarded the sundown for a couple reasons. One being the skar and obsidian like the lows a wee bit better, and, just out of personal preference, I kinda want the rubber surround (what I have now). I'm leaning more toward the Obsidian... probably because of its longer throw, and larger/stronger magnet. I don't want a DCON... just saying that now. Another thing it has 50mm xmax, almost like re xxx series, so i'm guessing the response would not be as great compared to smd/evil series? I'm just a curious george about speakers! im about to do a new setup for my single cab. not sure on the amp yet but im wanting around 1200 - 1500 watts depending on setup.ive considering doing 2 10 " SA SD'2's ported.or even thought about doing 1 " 12 SSA Icon ported. im limited on space but can make the box long and should be able to get proper airspace depending on what i go with. any opinions for me?

How do these two subs compare to one another..?? I am currently running a18 Fi Q sealed. Box is on the rather small side with polyfil but i know this sub is capable of more.... Seen the vvx can be ran in small sealed boxes and know the play lowend pretty good.. Figured i may switch from 1 18 to 2 15 due the fact of more cone area.... Amp is a mmats dhcx2200.1

Ok, im looking to buy some comps for my car The subs stage is a 15" fully loaded BTL and Hifonics 2600 amp The car is a 2000 Hyundai Sonata 6.5" speakers. Im thinking of doing some of the alpine type Rs in the front and keep the rears stock for a while, so what i think. when i had my 2 15" alpine type r subs, i was fine with my stock speakers, is that weird? lol

I have had weird issues off and on with my amp (teac 200.1) and my components( phoenix gold radials ran passively). little things like sounding muffled at start up in cold weather. I bought the amp on here a few years ago for $15, so no big loss. The other day i was involved in a fender bender and the power wire from the front battery to the back came undone. I didn't notice this until a few days ago. The tip off should have been that the sound deteriorated over the course of a week . SO, after too much measurements, calculations...ect. I could do a vented enclosure, 1.5" thick mdf all the way around, port it...and after sub disp., still net 5 cubes per sub. My question now is, what would be best in this "small box 4 sub" type of enclosure... RL-P, Fi Q, BL,.... would like to get loud but sound good, and these subs fit in that requirement 4 sure... I have 2 PWX8 4 ohm and 2 FT1 4 ohm and a Hifonics BRX640.4 which is rated at 4 x 80 RMS @ 4 ohm or 4 x 160 RMS @ 2 ohm. Should I run each speaker to their own channel or should I run one tweeter and one speaker in parallel @ 2 ohm 160 watts?

I want to do the package deal for the xcon and the sundown 1500. This is a daily driver (300C) so I obviously want sound quality (which is why I assume the xcon is a good choice). Although my main focus is to hit the lows with some really strong output, because I listen to rap. I don't want to fold the seats down either, but there is a stock 8" in the back that I'm going to take out, which should help the sound in the cab. I have a 2014 Ford Explorer sport. 2 Fi team 18s, (2more added later) ported 6th order, 7cuft per sub tuned to 33Hz and will be using a crescendo BC encore 12k. My center ch I can fit a 6.5 pwx or 2 FT1 super tweets. Any recommendations for the doors? I got room for 2-3 8" mids per door (if I customize/deaden and seal the doors) and 2 FT1 tweets. well i was bumping a bassmekanic CD with lots of fast beats and high pitch bumps. I bumped it for a good 45 min. I thought i smelled something But it wasnt like a strong smell of something Burning just smelled like a light hint of something I felt my subs and they where Warm But not Blazing Hot. Is it Normal for subs to gain some heat ? Was i abusing my subs ? I mean i did turn it down after I was just upset and started bumping my shit on my ride home.

Hey I am just wondering what would be better for SQ and SPL.. 2 x Maw12 in 3.6 cubic foot tuned to 32-33hz OR 1 x Maw15 in 3.0 cubic foot tuned to 30hz 500 RMS to either the 1 maw15 or 2x maw 12, so power is the same for both. Anyone have a decent answer?

well its recone time for me, i was wondering on what wiring choices do i have having 2 .7 coils will i get more power out of it if i just choose these instead of having 2 dual 1 like i had before??? just trying to get the most the power as i can and help stop impedence rise
