Hey I am just wondering what would be better for SQ and SPL.. 2 x Maw12 in 3.6 cubic foot tuned to 32-33hz OR 1 x Maw15 in 3.0 cubic foot tuned to 30hz 500 RMS to either the 1 maw15 or 2x maw 12, so power is the same for both. Anyone have a decent answer?

hey everyone. i'm in the process of piecing togethor my first system and i'm trying to figure some basic stuff out right now. i listen to a lot of house/trance and other electronic music, with some rock and a lil rap every once and awhile. my friends that have subs (mtx, jl w3), their setups sound great with rap but get muddy and don't seem like they keep up with the music when any kind of electro is played. I want my sub to remain clear and crisp. should i be looking for smaller a smaller 10" sub, or if i get more of an sq sub such as the ss rl-p will a single 12 or even a 15 be able to suit my needs? thanks.

$500 is my budget including shipping and in a 4 to 4.5 cubic feet box powered by a hifonics brz2400.1d . I was looking at the 15" btl fully loaded, 15" xcon, and the 15" zcon for $30 more. I'm going for spl, i just want it to be loud. for daily use also i thinking about 2 ssd 15 is a slightly smaller box then recommended. what are you suggestions/recommendations of other subs?

Ive heard differnt things, one being that the BL is more for the daily beater and the BTL for the "competion sub" Which is better for a daily sub that will not compete in SPL contests and who wants to have LOUD music.

  8. I've been looking around seeing some people using some ridiculous amount of cheap subs to get a large amount of air displacement. What are some good 15" or 18" subs able to handle at least 250W to do this with? I have a project in mind.

Ive come down to 2 options, the bl 18" or the hdc3 18". This will be going into a 5^ ported box powered by a SAz 1500. Im looking to get very loud and hit hard when i listen to rap but still sound pretty good when i want to listen to anything else.... i mostly listen to rap though. I want the woofer to get real low but still be able to hit the highs very nicely which comes to my main concern with the hdc3 not getting low enough. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hello guys, first thread on here Was just wondering, how do you think a D2 will take 2500wrms, on a daily BASSis, i.e streetbass, daily listening, i can't see it being a problem just playing music nicely, but what about when i crank it ? The whole system will be scoped, so it will be getting a purely clean signal, will be ported, about 4cuft, then port displacement, so say even 3 cuft ? I have seen this thing take 1700wrm quite nicely, but what about over quite a period of time ? i mean i know how to treat a sub, i know how they work and how to set a system up. So what you recon ? Go for it ? Also, can they be reconed ? or will i have to buy a new one ? Thanks in advance…

the 302's are one of the component sets im lookin at, just have a few questions. whats the mounting depth on them? and i think i remember reading somewhere that it said the 302's need custom kickpanels and such, is this true? or will they go into my stock kickpanels i have a 1990 bmw 325is so the stock locations are down in the kickpanels but they arent angled they are flush with the side. thanks, nick edit: where it says 302 i mean 307.

Hey, I just got a 15" BL in a a 3.6 cube box tuned to 33hz. It pounds and rumbles hardcore, but doesn't move enough air to make me happy. So I'm looking for some new setup ideas... My car is a 1996 Cutlass Supreme, so I don't have tons of trunk space. But I'm looking for something ridiculous that I can fit in here. Maybe 2 12"'s or something like that. I can proboly fit 2 15" in a sealed but I want ported So what are some ideas? I've looked at Orions and DD 9512 or maybe 2 13w7 even though there crazy overpriced. What are your opinions?

Im building a box for two kicker L7 15's [ 36"w x 20"d x 17"h ], to go in a 2005 monte carlo. not much trunk space. kicker says 3.5 cuft. with three 4" x 19.25 ports for each. I wonted to fire them to the rear with the the ports on the same face as the subs, but the 36" w wont allow for that. My problem is the port placment.. What would be the next best place for the ports? Thanks for the help.

  18. I have been running 1 12" Soundsplinter RLP for the past 6 years. I used to play around and try different set ups pretty frequently, but buying a house and having a child put a damper on some of that stuff. Driving a Mazda 3 right now and I am looking to get the best and cleanest output(on a budget of course), so I am looking at either building a new box for my RLP and having it fire into the cab with the backseat down, or get 2 DCON 10s and building a box to fire into the cab the same way. I listen to all kinds of music and I am limited at what I can put in the car because of the size of the trunk. I have about 700-800 watts rms, which is why I was looking at the DCO…

As the topic states: Are there plans for making grills for the D2, or do you have any recommendations on what to get? I really need one so I can keep stupid bastards from touching the driver when booming or piercing it with something. Slapped one that touched it once... He'll never do it again, hehehe

Let me know what you think guys. I made these kicks about a month ago, which included about 5 layers of bondo due to pinholes after sanding :punch: but I think they turned out pretty good. Oh yeah, those are the 307's in the kicks.

I am making my first attempts at subwoofer building. I never reconed or built a subwoofer so I am learning as I go. Top priority for these subs is to have a low qts since I plan on using these with passive radiators. Suspension compliance is really a stab in the dark at best. The motors I am using are built by TC Sounds for Lightning Audio. They have a cool neodymium slug and a huge top and bottom plate. The baskets and cones are made by TC Sounds as well. The baskets accommodate six hole mounting points. I needed to drill mounting locations for the four hole motors. I sent the baskets out to be powder coated. I should have them back in the next co…
