Subwoofers / Speakers

The reason I was asking is I have one but don't think it could take the abuse.

I've been looking around seeing some people using some ridiculous amount of cheap subs to get a large amount of air displacement. What are some good 15" or 18" subs able to handle at least 250W to do this with? I have a project in mind.

well after a brief heartatttack this morning. I now have the Proto in my possesion. FedEx dropped it at the neighbors house and when I tracked it this morning and it said delivered I about freaked out, well I did, then my neighbor was like I have what you are looking for. Okay so I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu. I just want to get a few ideas on how big of a box you guys think I can fit in it. I want to try to fit some xcon 15's ported and firing into the cabin sealed off from re trunk but I don't think that is going to be possible. Lol I would like to do them ported. I think 2 15's sealed would probably fit. Or should I just fit 2 12's ported with the same install, trunk sealed. What do you guys think? I have only owned a sealed prefab box, under powered, kicker L7 15's. I want to feel the lows alot better and have it sound better. Probably tune the box to 28 for 15's and 30 for 12's. Whats the most valuable part of a subwoofer besides the magnet?

Wanted to get some opinions out there.. Which would you guys go with, 2 12w6v2's sealed or 1 12 Magnum ported? Either application would be powered by a Sundown 1500d. Looking for SQ and have decent output.

I just bought a 15" D2 and wants to know if 2.5 cubes sealed box would be a good size for the sub, this is strictly for SQ. Thanks!

I am trying to decide which way to go I know both company and subs are of the best quality just can't decide. So I'm coming to great group of guys for help. I will be running a BC5500 and I want four 15. I want loud but clean. I've had a sundown nightshade z 18, a dd9515, skar vvx 15s just to give you some of the other systems I've ran. I like the dd9515 control and loudness but nothing rocked the jeep like the nightshade but it missed alot of notes. I want the love child of this two subs. Thanks for your advice.

OK. Im building a box for my S-10 blazer and i need help with the port. The box is 38" wide 19" high and 14.5" Deep. It hold 4 RE SR 10 D4's. Id like the port to be now wider than 10" no taller than 6". id like it to be alot wider than taller just to kinda "fit" better... Thanks in advance -Mike

I recently picked up a 12" IA Death Row series for $80!! Unfortunetly I could not compare them sound-wise because the Death Row wouldn't fit in my enclosure's hole. well. i was going to get a 12 inch d2, but then i heard about those darn 15's. i dunno what to do. ayone know how a 15 compares to a 12 d2? my only reasoning for going to the 15's would be to get louder, and deeper. box size cant get much bigger than about 2.5 cubes, sealed.

The only problem I have with it is the port will be unloading about 4 1/2" away from the side of the truck. This is a 7 1/2" port mind you. I'd like to get some opinions on wether or not I should go through with it or move back to an upfiring port and move the mags on the baffle to as far on the passenger as I can get them and make the box completely rectangular.

Hi, I currently have 1 kenwood KFC W3012 with an alpine m500 amp running at 4 Ohms with 300 watts in a custom ported enclosure (my dad and I built it and it's not that good). I bought it about 6 months ago and am not happy with my purchase. It gets moderately loud in the mid-range bass, but when the songs get lower, it gets super quiet and just sounds bad. It gets the job done, but thats about it, so it's time for an upgrade. I have a crown victoria with the police package so it has a HO alt already, and it has plenty of trunk space for a large enclosure. Well, I think I am leaning towards two sealed twelves now, instead of an icon or xcon in a large ported box. Since IA doesn't post any specs on their woofers, it is hard to model responses and compare these two woofers. If I were to put these woofers into an optimum sealed enclosure, which would be better? What I mean by better is which one would give me the lowest extension, and upper extension, and the best SQ? Sundown shows an F3 of 44hz in a 1 cu. ft. box. that isn't too bad, and should dig pretty deep, but I cannot tell anything about the LI. Hey ive posted before here asking about what subs i should buy to fit in the trunk of a 2004 dodge intrepid but never really came to a decision. But with the black friday sale i really want to make up my mind fast. I have a regular battery in the front and an xs 3400 in the rear. Did big 3 in 00 wire. And im getting a new alternator. Im not sure what amps i need to get to have sufficient power for 2250 watts rms. Any suggestions. For subs so far i like the idea of 1 15 in zcon, or 2 12 in icon, or possibly 3 10 in gcon. Hey guys. I have no experience with either sub and I would like some feedback from those who actually have had personal experience with both subs instead of just guessing from specs. Which will be louder on 1400 watts rms amp? This will be a sealed box of 2 cubes with 2 lbs of polyfil. Usable frequency 30hz/24db - 80hz/24db. Personally when I look at the specs I am guessing the performance might be on par with the Xcon being a tad louder, but Fi is around 32 lbs and Xcon is around 47 lbs, so in terms of weight Fi is a better option, but is the extra weight of Xcon worth it if it is in fact that much louder? This is for a daily driver. Thanks

does anyone have any experience with the Pioneer TS-W3002D4? i want to buy 2 of them and have a 1500 watt amplifier. should i upgrade the amp? are they a good quality sub?
