WOOOOOTTTT!!!!! My fiberglass door pods (original thread http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=94516) are near finished...made a lot of progress this weekend... They turned out pretty good, they're NOT perfect, these are my first...and they're going into my "piece of chit" truck that I'm driving till it dies...and getting a new one With that being said...here they are! (I used truck bedliner to coat them, they are awaiting a finish coat tomorrow after initial 2 layers cure...) (All clickable thumbnails) WOW...look..it's "JL's" new door pods... Ok Im torn between 2 diff. subwoofers. I have a 2010 civic coupe with about 8 cubes of trunk space i believe. I'm primarily looking into either a single FL Fi Q 15 or a Ascendant Audio Havoc 15. I'm planning on running this sub on a SAZ 1200D that im pickin up next month, electrical will be upgraded soon (big 3 bigger alt possibly & better batt.) & enclosure would be built later most likely roughly 4.5 cubes @ anywhere from 28 - 34 Htz. I cant decide which sub to get, any other suggestions would be appreciated. What I want are 1. Single sub 2. take roughly 1k rms without exploding into a fiery mess

Im strongly considering a 12in DCON S4 for my daily driver. My SA-10s are going to be moved to my Sonoma when its running, and I want to try something different for my daily (07 Altima). Ill get a Crescendo 1000C4 and bridge the rear channels for the sub, having 500rms on tap for it. I listen to mostly rock and techno, very little rap. I like to have more mid bass then really low end, but still would want it to get pretty low. Id like to have the LPF crossed about 100-120Hz. Most of all, I want as even an output across the widest range possible. Looking for more of an SQ setup. I dont care some much for loud bass, as I do air moving bass if that makes sense. i dont understand with ports some ppl say that you always put your ports on the same side as your subwoofers. looking around on forums i see ports being put on all different side what is the best way. does it even matter i have a van and i want to put the subwoofers facing the front of the car and van the ports facing the tailgate what is best

I'm trying to decide between a 15" SSA XCON or a Fi BL 15"... My goals are just SPL. SQ isn't a big enough concern to alter my decision. I will be running it in the trunk of a Grand Am in a 4^3ft(ish) ported box at 32 hz, off a memphis 16-st1000d for now at 1 ohm. I've got all my electrical ready.. Just trying to pick between these 2. I've never heard either one personally, so I'm looking for opinions on which would produce higher SPL in this situation. If you have any other opinions on a differen't subwoofer, I'm open for those as well. P.S. BUDGET - 400$

Hey everyone, Had some diamond d612's when i got out of the game. It looks as if diamond audio has fallen off the map unfortunatly, so i am having trouble finding a set of new d9's. Everyone has recommend the ssa xcon which looks to be a great sub. The reason for posting is i like for them to get loud and my wife likes for them to be accurate. Is it safe to assume the xcon can do this? I bring up diamond just because i know from experience they will do both and do them well. Any ideas or comments? They will be 2 12s running in trunk of buick regal powered by an rf-t1500bdcp per sub.

Hello guys/ladies, I have been buying peice by piece for a Diy active component system, Right now I currently have: Headunit- Sony Cdx-Mp70 ( yes its sony but it will work for now) 4 Channel- Power acoustik amp Mono Amp- lanzar Vibe1800D Electronic Crossover- Coustic XM6 Okay so for so good I guess, I am not too sure what to get for mids I am looking into Dayton RS series as well as Mach 5 Mli-65's. Mark at mach 5 is sending me some Mli-65's to test and do a review, I'll have to see if I like the way they sound.. As for the tweeter I have a pair of Dayton ND20FA's coming from partsexpress on Wednesday the reason I ordered these was becuase of all the reviews they recieve…

I have two 15" L7s and im not very satisfied with them and im getting rid of them. I listen to all rap so i want a spl setup but i think i either want two 15" or one 18" sub. Price doesnt really matter. but i dont want to redo all my electrical because i dont plan on keeping the car i have. I was thinking maybe an icon or fi or re or mayb alpine type rs. and i would need suggestions on an amp as well. thanx

hey guys on Fi's site I was lookin at their 12 inch IB3's and its not showing any cubic feet spec's for a ported box...... why not? I was thinkin about gettin those instead of the SSD's because they call for a lower rms and the xmax is more..... and they're a lil cheaper too.

I am getting back into audio after a long layoff. I wanted to know what you guys thought would be the best speaker setup for mid and highs. I am planing on buying the new Zed Audio 6ch 150w a ch when it's released. I have been thinking of such brands as morel, focal, dbl, and polk. Price does matter would like to keep it under 1000. As the title reads: Can a pair of midbass speakers be used on a monoblock amp? I understand they would not be in stereo mode, but how much will/will not affect the 80/90 to 250hz range. Has anyone tried this or am I just pissin in the wind? Asking questions as I plan a new front stage to go with my plans for a wall setup. Thanks

hey everybody, I've been debating over some time what my next set-up should be. Right now I have 6 JBL GT5-10s in the trunkspace of my Golf. I'm looking for something louder; I'm thinking of 2 15s...I have around 7-8cu-ft to use. I want something that will shake the ground, not buzz the ears. So I'm looking to tune them around 28hz. I've been looking at the Fi BTL's but I have never received any e-mails back from anyone there for over 5 months... any body have any ideas as to what sub I should look into? I want to have a port that is out side of my box but I also want a port that runs along the contours of the side of my hatch. This will make for a port that is shaped like "~". Is this a problem so long as I make sure that the port is exacly "x" cubic inchs? What sort of problems could I encounter? Thanks Jerry

I've got a 15 passenger van and am looking to install a low budget system (anything is an upgrade to the 2 front door speakers I have currently) I have a pair of 6 x 9 speakers at each row of seats in enclosures and the 6x 9's in the front doors for a total of 10 speakers. I also have a powered bazooka sub I want to use in the rear. I have a 4 or 5 year old Pioneer Premier head unit that I plan to connect to. I've got a box for a single 12" just sitting in the garage and thought I'd put it to use. I'm looking for some recommendations for a cheap twelve. This is just something to get me by for a while so I'm only looking at spending around $50 max. The box is just over 1 cubic foot (something like 1.12 I think) and the cutout is a hair over 11".

so I was looking at my MJ-18 and what do I find? a 2 1/2" rep in the basket! the ripped edge is painted so it happened before I got it my guess is that when they stamped the basket out that that's when it happened so I glued it shut pics in a LIL bit

does a Magnum D2 12" come in dual 2 ohms or 4 ohms? P.S. just something thats been on my mind ever since i found stereo integrity forums... With the Mag being such a good subwoofer how come stereo integrity isnt up there with JL audio, Rockford, Kicker, and the other leading brands?

I have a pair of Orion HP12s sealed in 1.2 cubes per chamber powered by a JBL 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2ohms and one of my Orions tore the surround recently and I'm trying to decide whether to get a replacement HP12 or upgrade. The Orions hit hard and clean. However I may upgrade if I could find an efficient pair of subs that could get louder and sound clean. The poll options are what I'm trying to decide between.

Ive posted about this subwoofer on a few other forums, well it took me a couple weeks to even get the guy to tell me the shipping and send me a paypal invoice, well he said the subwoofer was $250 for 1 Oz audio 15" ME15.2 ......which is a good price, but hes trying to charge me $55 to ship that seems to high to me even if he is insuring it and using their packaging...the reason is, is i just shipped 2 RE SE 15's UPS ground to a guy in the same state where he lives and it was only $38 dollars....and he is using UPS ground too. At the moment I'm in the market for a new sub. I've narrowed it down to the ICON or a SSD. I read a really nice review on the ICON on DIYMA that fell into my power range. Now on to my question. With stated power which would be a better choice ICON or SSD+copper coil? Box is dependent upon driver selection.

Hey guys i am looking for a single 15" setup, the amp i have to power either sub would be a mtx thunder elite 801d it puts out 851x1 rms at 2 ohms, i listen to about 70% rap and 30% rock i am mostly interested in getting loud i know that that is totally install dependant, so either sub would be ported at around 32-33 hz and in about a 3.5-4.0 cu ft enclosure.
