Okay so I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu. I just want to get a few ideas on how big of a box you guys think I can fit in it. I want to try to fit some xcon 15's ported and firing into the cabin sealed off from re trunk but I don't think that is going to be possible. Lol I would like to do them ported. I think 2 15's sealed would probably fit. Or should I just fit 2 12's ported with the same install, trunk sealed. What do you guys think? I have only owned a sealed prefab box, under powered, kicker L7 15's. I want to feel the lows alot better and have it sound better. Probably tune the box to 28 for 15's and 30 for 12's. I just don't want to get 12's and not be satisfied? But I'm…

I am looking into getting a new set of components and was wondering what all of you guys like. I am currently trying to decide between edi 6500's, jl XR's and diamond hex s600s, but Im up for any other suggestions. I have a budget of about 450 for speakers and an amp to power them. BTW, I prefer more of the smooth sound of a soft dome tweeter, but when i heard the aluminum dome jl I actually didnt mind it all. Thanks in advance. Eric

Hi, I'm building a box for a 15" BTL. My concern isn't neccesarily the box, but more technical things rather. For example I would like to know how much wattage/rms I can pull from having only one of the 15's. What would be the best way to eliminate distortion when running the speaker? I plan on running a xover so besides that I need help. I'm selling most of my old handmedown stuff and starting fresh. So, Since I don't have anything put together yet, I would like to have some suggestions on the best setup for having only one of these. It's going into the back of my Jeep Cherokee 92'. I have a few box designs up and if I can xfer them to my computer I will post them as soo…

I am making my first attempts at subwoofer building. I never reconed or built a subwoofer so I am learning as I go. Top priority for these subs is to have a low qts since I plan on using these with passive radiators. Suspension compliance is really a stab in the dark at best. The motors I am using are built by TC Sounds for Lightning Audio. They have a cool neodymium slug and a huge top and bottom plate. The baskets and cones are made by TC Sounds as well. The baskets accommodate six hole mounting points. I needed to drill mounting locations for the four hole motors. I sent the baskets out to be powder coated. I should have them back in the next co…

Hi there. Just joined you all the way from a rather cold England. My name is Erskine and I have a very strong working interest in Bass Box Designs, anyway I have just been given two nice new Magnum D2's which I shall be putting into one of my tried and tested Three Chamber Internally Ported Reflex Boxes. As the D2's are two ohm per coil, have previous owners got a preference for the wiring options. Both coils in series or parallel and then both speakers in either series or parallel. I will be using a Genesis Monobloc rated at 1650wrms [1200wrms with my current electrical set-up] into one ohm and I am more of an SQ guy rather than out and out SPL. Just interested to hear …

Just finishing my first recone, changed my 12" icon to an 18. Everything is done except soldering the leads... They're not sandwiched leads; but the loose leads with the pad on the cone to prevent tinsel slap. The tinsel leads seem really long. How much slack should I leave?

Listening Equipment list - Sony XA-1 ES CD player, Outlaw 1050 receiver, Crown K2 amplifier, Monster Cable Interlink 250 interconnects, Monster Cable 12 awg speaker wire, and Stereo Integrity Esprit line arrays. The Magnum 15" is in a 3.6 cubic foot sealed sonotube enclosure being driven by the incredibly relentless Crown K2 that is capable of 2,500 watts RMS. "Spies" 1988 Telarc CD is a must-have for any audio enthusiast who enjoys deep, powerful bass lines. Coupled with the CD's great recording quality, the Spies CD was the first to find its way into the CD player. Track number one opens up with its solid up-beat bass line that will quickly show any subwoofer faults…

I drive a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire and in the front doors the speakers are 4x6" and in the rear 6x9". My current setup is Sony Xplodes in both locations so I'm looking to upgrade. I' ve already decided on getting a 12" Icon and Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D, but I'm unsure what to do about the rest of the setup. From the looks of it there really aren't that many options for 4x6" speakers that would be any better then my Sonys. What would you guys suggest in my situation? I'm just trying to price everything together for the setup to get an idea of the price and make any adjustments to make it more affordable if need be.

so a friend of mine is looking to add a sub to his car, but he cares a great deal about weight (yes, contradictory, but to each his own). He's looking for a 10" driver that weighs less than 20lbs, preferably around 15lbs, that has awesome SQ and lets you slightly feel the bass. So far, he's looking at the eD 11Kv.2, Adire Shiva (having a hard to time to find this thing online), and the Seas Lotus SW250 (isn't sure if he wants to spend this much money, unless its 200% worth it). any other suggestions? Thanks in advance

I have been running 1 12" Soundsplinter RLP for the past 6 years. I used to play around and try different set ups pretty frequently, but buying a house and having a child put a damper on some of that stuff. Driving a Mazda 3 right now and I am looking to get the best and cleanest output(on a budget of course), so I am looking at either building a new box for my RLP and having it fire into the cab with the backseat down, or get 2 DCON 10s and building a box to fire into the cab the same way. I listen to all kinds of music and I am limited at what I can put in the car because of the size of the trunk. I have about 700-800 watts rms, which is why I was looking at the DCO…

After hearing many good things about eD on certain forums (cough ICIX) I finally broke down and ordered a 13Ov.2...luckily I caught one during the $70 promotion, so I definitely didn't pay full price. It arrived today (still waiting on the sealed 1.25cu box) and I decided to look into the company some more...came across this forum after looking at some ascendant audio products-lets just say that I know why you guys hold a grudge against eD now. I haven't listened to the sub yet, but I'm sure it'll be a HUGE improvement over the generic 10" that's in my car right now...are these things really that bad? I would have bought an assasin 12" from AA had SSA not stopped carry…
