Subwoofers / Speakers

I can't seem to make up my mind what I want to run in the Supra for a substage... 12" or 15"?? Box will be max. ~3ft^3 regardless (fiberglassed spare tire well)...Power supplied from a PG Tantrum 1200.1... The install won't be visible at all, so I'm not concerned about anyone "seeing" it. I guess it all comes down to a question of sensibility? Do I really need a 15" powered by 1500W in a hatchback? Or will a 12" w/ 1500W suffice? LOL I've never owned a hatchback before, nor have I had much experience with audio systems in them...you guys will have to help me out... Front stage, you say? Well...I already have that one figured out...

How much will the subs break my wallet for and do you think 6.416ft^3 @ 30Hz with a Sundown SAZ-2000 would be a good combination for your subwoofers?

i was thinking about putting 2 (maybe 1 depending on price) of them behind my seats on the floor instead of the AE subs http://www.tcsounds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10 i mean if what kyle says is true, this could be my next sub.

i know theyre rated at like 700 - 1000 RMS or so but could 4 of them stand up to 2 DD Z1's @ 1 ohm each gain matched??

I am thinking about getting a 4ch amp a set of mids and tweets and then running everything active. I'll probably get a next 4ch amp that 80rmsx 4 and then a pair of eD eu650 mids and possibly this lgm tweeter http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/in...2.15092&pid=635 The tweeter is supposed to be very similar to one used by jl and diamond on the original hex's that were made in germany. Total cost comes out to under 250 for everything. How do you guys think it would sound? Would everything work fine? Let me know of any recommendations you may have. Thanks. Eric

Been looking at mach 5 audio and heard so much good thing about it. I have a friend that Dj's hip- hop and trance. I was wondering how 2 mj 18 would do in a Bass reflex (ported) box off of 1000 rms? Will these be loud enough indoor and outdoor? Usually djs for like 50 - 200 max of people. I know these arent PA speakers but will they work?

Hello, I bought a Fi Bl 12 "limited edition" with 4 inch vc. from a guy on **** I finally got the subwoofer today, and immedietly noticed that the basket was damaged. Two arms are broke off, and another 3 are cracked. Im in the process of filing an insurance claim. The seller stated he put insurance on package, Im waiting to hear back from him now. Im guessing I will get money from insurance and send the sub in for repair. Would a normal recone process cover a new basket also?

I need help picking a good set of components. I have 125w rms per channel to run them on and I need 6 3/4" size woofers. The amp I will be using is my US Amps USA-300. I don't really care about how loud they get, but I want to have the best sq that I can get. My budget is around the $500 - $600 range. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! Edit: I forgot to add that I listen to just about every type of music, so they must be well rounded.

Anyone have any reviews/personal experience with em? There a new line off JL. Inexpensive and looking into it. I dont want bright tweeters. And I heard a review that these dont get bright.

My subs chirp when my car is started but not when it is off but the head unit is on and i cannot figure out what it is. I checked the ground and that is good. Also, my power is good. Any ideas what it might be?

Has anyone had alot of coil stuck down in the motor gap before? . . Have a customer that im doing a recone for and almost all of the coil is way down in the gap. . . Just seeing if anyone has any advice on how to get it out . Iv got a little out but just coming out in little pieces . . Its an american bass hd by the way

Hey all, Im trying to decide what I want to do for my summer sub setup. It will be going in a 1998 Acura 3.5RL, trunk system with about 4ft.^3 after displacement. I will be using around 3500 watts for either setup and dont plan on more power (not looking for number really but that would be nice). Im looking for more of a daily ground pounder with a great low end response that can be brutal when I turn it up. (2x) Quad L5 Kickers in a 24cu.ft @ 18Hz, For Stage use. Could use L7 or Solo X! Oh yeah, No SoloX in 15" size. But for the L5 with 3,000w@2-ohm x2 with Peavey IPR 6000. Talking weight here so will be rolling Quad Subs. Let me know whats on your mind good or bad.

Considering buying an electronic xover and I've found a nice old school piece that will allow me to set highs/mids/subs but doesn't allow bandpassing the mid. Is that that big of a deal? So I've made it pretty obvious that I was ordering a 10" ICON from SSA for a while, but haven't really put up my impressions of it yet. Im looking at getting 2 SAZ-1500D and 1 SAZ-100.2 Thats enuf power for alot of setups. Is it too much for 2 SI mag 15? What is the max a 15 si mag d2 can handle?

To start off I would like to say I have had a love hate relationship with my 12" zcon from day one and also noticed from day one that the surround had a soft spot in it but never questioned it cause it seemed to play just fine. It sounds fantastic on a handful of songs but lacks to play a variety of music very well which they claim this woofer to not be a "one note wonder". I know your enclosure has a lot to do with things so I thought maybe the zcon needed a better home so I moved it from 3 cubes @ 30hz to 2.5 cubes @ 32hz.
