  2. I know this may be a dumb question..but i believe a dumb question is one that was never asked!! so if someone would clear this up for me i'd appreciate it! ok my buddy just sold me his 15" fi Q dvc 1ohm... i already have a kicker cvx dvc 4ohm now i am gonna buy another fi Q but money is an issue right now and i need some knock right now so the question is if i wire the fi q down to 2ohms and wire the cvx to 2ohms will it be a 1ohm load or not? and why? i know they are different voice coils but 2 subs dropped to 2ohms=1ohm and my amp is 1ohm stable, would this work or will it fry my amp?

Hello, i've been looking around on these forums trying to find a decent 5.25 component set. I found a guy that decided about the dreamline and have heard people praise these before as well (people seem to really enjoy rainbow). I will be unable to make my own kicks(no faith in myself), and do not have anyway to have them made by someone else near me (sucks). I realize putting these speakers in kicks are going to be my best option of placement. So therefore i'm going to have to go with q-forms ( i will be putting sound deadening in them, i heard it helps ) and the max they can hold is about a 5.25. The speakers i put in them will also need to work well IB, obviously. I wil…

so,right now i have 2 12" kicker cvrs in my back seat because the box is too big for the trunk. i went to the shop to ask ab out getting a box made, he said 150. but he also said i should get rid of the kickers and get a 10" brutus, or orion, with a custom box and itd be way better than the kickers. so should i pay 150 to keep the kickers, sell the kickers and buy a brutus 10 and custom box for a lil over 200, or an orion 10 and custom box for a lil more than the brutus? i listen to mainly more rock, but lately ive been listening to rap cuz i like the bass. but still, i listen to way more rock. so what do you think?

  7. hello everyone. today, i have been beating up my sub pretty hard.when i finally got home, i felt the basket of the sub and it was pretty warm. is this a sign that somethings wrong? the only part i felt was where the outside mounting holes are. i wasnt sure if this was a early warning of something going wrong so i thought id throw up a post and ask. here is the specs of the set-up for those wondering if it may have to do with my amp or something.... 1 12" orion hcca in a 2.0CF ported box tuned @ 35Hz 1 MTX 1501D elite series amp all 4 gauge wiring. let me know what u all had in mind!! Hi guys, I'm from Puerto Rico so my english is not that good, but I want to try to communicate with all of you. I know this questions is ask sooo many times. But I want to know your opinion on this. My car is a 1994 Corolla, the amp is a Soundtream Rubicon 400.1 mono, and the sub would be in a .75 birch ported box, about 2.89cuft including port area and tune to about 38hz and I listen to a lot of hip-hop, electronica, and rock(not at high volumes). The 15" subs I been looking are: Mmats P2.0, IA 187, Treo Tsx and Mtx TR75. All of them dvc 4ohms. I want the best ""SQL"" possible because I know that with just 400rms I'm not going to reach high SPL. I want …

What are the advantages of running 1 8" mid versus running 2 6.5" mids up front? I'm looking for clarity, loudness, and width (of the stage I guess? I don't really listen to much that requires great staging). I can do the work to fit the 8 behind the panel but it will be up high. If I do 2 6.5's then one will be in the door and one in the kick. One 6.5 isn't giving me the volume I need...well it is, but only when it's crossed at 120+hz which sucks. Doors will treated and sealed minimally (Not keeping the vehicle for long.) Right now I'm not looking at any drivers in particular. I'd rather use passive sets (using only one tweet) because I don't have good enough x/o's. I ha…

Hi guys and gals first post not new to the car audio world but been out of it for a long time . I already have a system in my 2010 Silverado crewcab . I'm running the JL audio stealth box with 2 JL 10w3 subs that came with it . About 800 watts rms . I had the same amp with the same subs in my other car but with a custom ported box . Wow I loved that system . But in my truck I was limited on space and the JL audio prebuilt sub box was just very convenient and ready for installation so I went that direction. Yes it very nice and decent but after 6 years I'm ready for more . I want to keep the box under the rear bench seat but I know that running my 2 JL 10"s mig…

What's up all I have a Fi Q12 that needs to be recone. I read you can use a different brand recone kit as long as specs are right? Or Is it better to use a Fi recone kit made for the Q12 from Fi or does another companies recone kit work just as well? I've never reconed a sub before and as long as the same specs are used to recone the sub everything remainds the same (rms power handling enclosure sizes ect.)? Appreciate any feedback thanks

Hey guys, i've been thinking about upgrading to a different sub, but i cant decide what i want. Right now i have a SSD 12, which i am very happy with sq wise, and it does get decently loud, but not as loud as i would like. Im looking to stay with the 1 12 set up, or possibly 1 15, so what would you guys say would be a good choice to get as loud as possible. I've been thinking maybe a BL or something similar. I would like to keep the price around 400 or under. Thanks.

Wow, Sorry for the blow up on my last post lol I was trying to find out a little more about the SSA woofers. I read great things about them on these forums, and what Fi has to do with manufacturing couldn't matter less to me. I joined this site after I placed my order for my SSD 10s. I was really not familiar with either companies, but I just happen to stumble across both brands while looking for drivers for my new vehicle. Now, all that aside, not looking for another locked topic. My original questions was how the new G-Cons would compare to the SSD drivers. I know they are new, and there prob isn't much for customer reviews. My main question I was looking for was where …

  23. PRV AUDIO Vocal Speakers.... This may not make sense initially, but a high-quality speaker will have less bandwidth than a lower quality speaker... (for the most part) Just like a 3- or 4-way system is always better than a 1- or 2-way system. The narrower the bandwidth the speaker must play the cleaner it will sound. This will also keep you from asking the speaker to play up to its upper and lower frequency limits which are where it starts to sound "forced" to play those frequencies Pro Audio speakers are nothing new to car audio, but I see consumers not really knowing how to properly use them and having some issues which is understandable. These are totally di…

Are there any reviews for the Hybrid Audio products? I was planning on having a set of SEAS Lotus Reference components installed at the end of this month and was wondering how the Hybrid Audio drivers compare. I was planning on running the RW165 mids in kick panels and having the RT27F tweeters molded into my A-pillars. I'm open to the idea of a 3-way system, particularly The Legatia Pro L1 tweeter, L4 mid, and either the L6 or L8 midbass. I'll be honest with you and say that I've demoed the SEAS and I personally thought they were the king of components so I'm wondering how the Hybrid Audio's compare. As far as amplification, I was originally going to run a Sundown S…
