Subwoofers / Speakers

Which 6.5" speakers put out the best all around sound from 150w max to each speaker. I'll probably only be using two speakers in pvc wakeboard style enclosures. It would be nice to have a little bass as well as decent highs and mids.

I've got a box for a single 12" just sitting in the garage and thought I'd put it to use. I'm looking for some recommendations for a cheap twelve. This is just something to get me by for a while so I'm only looking at spending around $50 max. The box is just over 1 cubic foot (something like 1.12 I think) and the cutout is a hair over 11".

Hey everyone i'd like to hear some opinions on what i want for my sub stage. I want to get rockford fosgate. here are the options im thinking.. 2 12" P3's sealed or ported? 1 15" T1 ported 2 10" T0's ported 1 10" T2 ported Will be getting 1000rms to them. I've asked all my friends and their opinions are scattered lol. What do you guys think I should get? I want good sound quality and loudness as well.. id go for more sound quality than loudness but if i can get loudness too that would be great. Im leaning more towards the 1 15" t1 or p3s sealed but idk.. will be in a honda civic coupe, and in the trunk. thanks again guys cant wait to hear some feedback.

in your (non biased) opinion, which sub would you say, in there optimal enslure w/at least rms power running to them, would sound better/be louder? a few guys on CA.com i was talking to said that i should get the HDC's over the BL's and that they are louder. he said the HDC's are more comparable to the BTL's....of course i have my doubts but i want to know what you guys think thanks

I've just got this sub and at first was very disappointed with it and the lack of output and low end bass it produces, it is in a sealed box BTW, so I thought ok, it need to wear it in.... so I've now had it running for roughly about 4 or 5 hours in total this week. It seems to be a bit better but still sounds just crap and pathetic with poor low end...especially considering its worth a lot more than my previous 8" sub My previous 8" sub picked up lows very well and had pretty good output for a $40Au ($30 approx USD) sub, I'd prefer it over this monster double stacked motored Rockford Fosgate It just isnt right and distorts really easy and the old cheap sub just puts it t…

whay type of mounting should I use to invert my Mag??? I am either going to just build a new box with the magnet facing the rear of the car or, going to build a box in the tire well with the magnet facing up toward the trunk lid. but my concern is how to mount it.

So, i've downed to 3 subs, IA Death Penalty 12", SSA Xcon 12" or Fi BL 12". Will be getting 2 subs. The amp that will be powering them will be the Crescendo Audio BC3500D. Max box size is 52x24x17. I listen to pretty much anything but mainly rap and hard rock. If theres something else I forgot to mention let me know.

This weekend, I will finally get my stuff installed. This includes Iraggi alternator, big 3, new battery, pg tantrum 1200.1 amp, and 2 12 mags sealed in a gnomeaudio box. Can't wait!!! Next weekend, I will make kicks for my CDT comps and sounddeaden the trunk with some secondskin. I'll let yawl know how it sounds.

Need Amp recommendations for 12." i have to be energy conserved because i drive an S2000 and it doesnt produce Much power from the little engine. So can i get The best amp that i could use for this sub and car without draining the battery. Thanks

so I was looking at my MJ-18 and what do I find? a 2 1/2" rep in the basket! the ripped edge is painted so it happened before I got it my guess is that when they stamped the basket out that that's when it happened so I glued it shut pics in a LIL bit

Hey since you guys are planning on them new kickass amps. which would u mind droppin some minor specs?? wink wink. i waswondering since the xs lineup simply got a new chrome basket if their would be a new line up coming out or nething new. Have a question some of the old-school guys might be able to help out with. A friend of mine has no bass in his 98 Explorer right now. He wants something, but is on a very tight budget. I have had a new pair of old-school 15" MTX ThunderPro 750 watt subs tucked away in my laundry room. The ones with the red rubber surround. Don't ask me how I obtained them. LOL. I offered them up, and of course he accepted. My problem is, even though they are new and still taped up in their original boxes, there was no paperwork/specs with them. Does anyone know anything about these subs? How much box volume do they need? Do they like a sealed or ported enclosure? Etc. Just trying to help…

Since I only have room for 1, thats what I would have to work with. Again, I have 1200 watts to feed it. Box can be up to 3 cubes externally measured. I can give dimensions later because I will need help designing the box.

Ok, I'd like to know something.. I read a recommendation of using a 25in^2 port tuned to 34hz. So I understand how to figure out the port size, what is meant by "tune to 34hz"? Or is that a statement, that a 25in^2 port will be tuned to 34hz.?

So I'm going to be using these little monsters in my dad's stereo & possibly in my own. I figured I'd show you guys some pics of them & ask for any ideas. I'm going to give my dad 2 & use 4 for myself. My question is what kind of enclosure should I use. Mainly asking about the 2 for my dad, I have never built for home audio & am working with a fairly large room. The rooms 20 x 14 with a 17 ft ceiling. I have narrowed down to 2 options 4 sundown E 8's off a sundown 1000 or 1 12" Fi BL off a sundown 1200 Looking for LOUD SOUND QUALITY This will be going with a active setup with hertz hsk 165's, alpine 9887 and a sundown 100.4 What would you guys recommend? 1 12'' or 4 8's
