I got bored today, so I took a movie of me putting a Magnum through its paces. It's 20 Hz, and very cool.

So i ended up giving away my system to my sister in hopes to build a new one (: my goal is 145dbs give or take. i have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee. i have plans to do the big 3, a 250a HO singer alt compared to stock 136a d6500 under the hood, and two d3100s in the rear. i thought about getting a dc 3.5k and dc lvl 3 or 4 15s or 18s, also thought about a crescendo 2k or 3.5k. but idk. if anyone has any suggestions, ideas, input. pleaseee let me know. looking to run between 2k and under 4k. old sub was a 15 skar vvx, it played low and it was nice, but id rather get a sub that plays higher than that, and tune low if i wanted to. . . budget is 750 for the amp, and 700-800 fo…

Currently I have a 15" Fi SSD in a ported enclosure with almost 4 cu. ft. It is by far an amazing subwoofer hitting very low notes and hitting them hard. Recently however, I bought another 175 x 4 wrms amp and 6.5" component set that I am currently installing. That leaves another two channels that can be filled up with two more speakers, and I'd rather not use it on rear door speakers. My current subwoofer, does not give the desire punch that I want, and I was wondering if I should buy two woofers or mid-bass/mid-range drivers. Will these give me that punch fill that I want in my system, or should I instead go with two 8" subwoofers for punch. Another question is what cre…

I have an issue with my amp protecting at a high output. The subs are wired to ohms in an 8 cube enclosure tuned at 38. When I take it into high volumes it gets louder without distortion. When it starts getting to its peak my amp throws a short circuit protect. Is it possible that one of the coils have an issue? Or possibly amp? The setup is four fi ssds on a stetsom 7kd. Also coils read exact same on each eight coils.

I am putting together a system, and i hear the pro's and con's of each box. My questions is a two part question, the first one is: seeing that a sealed box is more for sq, and covers a wide wavelengths, and the vented box is louder but does not do well in many of the wavelengths or you might call it hz. why not do one side sealed and one side vented 12"S ? is there a reason why it would not blend like a two way sub box? and if it is posiable would two mono amps be better then one amp the yields the same wattage?

2x Level 3 12's with an AQ 1200d amp, the box is little more than 4 cubes tuned to 39.5 hz, off some tones i was able to do a 139.9, and then some tuning bumped me up to 140.0 db, sealed with TL on the window. The hard part is its in a 4 dr car which are f*ckn hard to get loud, but we shall see what this setup can do when tuned to 43-44 hz, should have results Thursday with some pictures.

I'm doing a bit of work on my front stage in my 03 mazda and need some ideas on what drivers I should uses for pillars. I built door panels that house rockford P1652-S components running off my old Pioneer GM6000f rms 125watts per side. Sound is crazy clean but I want a bit more. So, I've got plans for building some new pillars that will either house some coaxials or components. I've got a new VIBE DEATHBOXS4-V1 that will rms125watts x 4 channels. idealy, I want to run my P1652-S's and whatever i put in the pillars off the VIBE and my rear speakers (cheap coaxials from princess auto) off the Pioneer. SO: For 125 watts rms, what should I use in pillars? coaxials or compone…

  23. So Im about to change my factory speakers to a 2-way component set. Right now, I will be running passive (HU->crossover from components->woofer/tweeter) but in the future, I plan on adding a Sundown 100.4D Will this be right? HU->Amplifier->Crossover from components->woofer/tweeter) Also, is this considered active? The reason why I ask is because I plan on buying Morel Hybrid Ovation II components, and the dealer Im getting it from told me they put a lot of work in the crossovers. At that price, I wouldn't like to put those crossovers in a box in the closet, but I wont use them if you guys tell me its better not to have them if there is an amplifier already…

So I'm going to be using these little monsters in my dad's stereo & possibly in my own. I figured I'd show you guys some pics of them & ask for any ideas. I'm going to give my dad 2 & use 4 for myself. My question is what kind of enclosure should I use. Mainly asking about the 2 for my dad, I have never built for home audio & am working with a fairly large room. The rooms 20 x 14 with a 17 ft ceiling. Just looking for any help or links at all. thanks, nate the army!
