Hello everyone I want to get your opinions on wich to go with. The sub will be in 1.25 sealed powered with 1500 watts. I listen to all music however lean more towards rap. Looking for a loud """SQL""" setup. Is there really that much difference between the two?

I've got a box for a single 12" just sitting in the garage and thought I'd put it to use. I'm looking for some recommendations for a cheap twelve. This is just something to get me by for a while so I'm only looking at spending around $50 max. The box is just over 1 cubic foot (something like 1.12 I think) and the cutout is a hair over 11".

What are the advantages of running 1 8" mid versus running 2 6.5" mids up front? I'm looking for clarity, loudness, and width (of the stage I guess? I don't really listen to much that requires great staging). I can do the work to fit the 8 behind the panel but it will be up high. If I do 2 6.5's then one will be in the door and one in the kick. One 6.5 isn't giving me the volume I need...well it is, but only when it's crossed at 120+hz which sucks. Doors will treated and sealed minimally (Not keeping the vehicle for long.) Right now I'm not looking at any drivers in particular. I'd rather use passive sets (using only one tweet) because I don't have good enough x/o's. I ha…

Hi guys, I need 2 12" subs for a friend of mine. He has an MTX TE 4000 to run them. He doesn't really know what to get. He drive a small car (renault Clio) with a hatchback. He will be able to fit a 3 to 3.5 ft3 ported box in his trunk. He's still undecided ! AA Mayhems are his first choice, but I asked Some info about the DC Level 4 xl, and he saw the Orion HCCA. He seems to like the Orion. But we never listened to any of those subs. What do you think about those 3. I think the Orion is not the best choice, but when he reads the specs, he likes them : low Fs, high sd, big motor !!! What can I tell him to choose? All those 3 are in the same budget , with shipping.

  5. PRV AUDIO Vocal Speakers.... This may not make sense initially, but a high-quality speaker will have less bandwidth than a lower quality speaker... (for the most part) Just like a 3- or 4-way system is always better than a 1- or 2-way system. The narrower the bandwidth the speaker must play the cleaner it will sound. This will also keep you from asking the speaker to play up to its upper and lower frequency limits which are where it starts to sound "forced" to play those frequencies Pro Audio speakers are nothing new to car audio, but I see consumers not really knowing how to properly use them and having some issues which is understandable. These are totally di…

So I'm looking to go bigger (who isn't? ) and I was checking out obsidians. They look pretty nice, I'm pretty sure that the product is going to be great unlike some brands that are just starting out since obsidian was established by some reputable people. I've been wanting to do a big build for a while now and I've been hopping between brands, doing price checks and just seeing what I like most. I think I've decided that this build will work pretty well...though like I said it is a decent sized build so I was hoping that some of you could give me some tips on the best way to set it up. I know that's a really general statement, but hopefully you know what I mean. Anyways…

Hey guys. Just trying to get some quick help. I have Eminence Alpha 6 4ohm drivers in my front doors. One is buzzy, and I want to replace the pair. I am torn between the Cresendo PDX-6 , or the Incriminator dpx-6. They are running on an Alpine PDX 150/ch. Is there another option I should be looking at? Or are those two options good? Is one preferred over the other? Thanks!

  9. if your current set up was giving you around 600 watts per sub into a sub with 1000 watts rms handling, but for $550 you could upgrade to a different amp that would put around 844 watts into that same sub would you spend the extra cash to do it? i mean can one even tell the difference by listening to a sub with either power going to them? not sure if it matters but the system consist of 3 18's..im looking for opinions to see if its worth me spending the $550 and only adding about 200 watts per sub if even that..

I'm doing a bit of work on my front stage in my 03 mazda and need some ideas on what drivers I should uses for pillars. I built door panels that house rockford P1652-S components running off my old Pioneer GM6000f rms 125watts per side. Sound is crazy clean but I want a bit more. So, I've got plans for building some new pillars that will either house some coaxials or components. I've got a new VIBE DEATHBOXS4-V1 that will rms125watts x 4 channels. idealy, I want to run my P1652-S's and whatever i put in the pillars off the VIBE and my rear speakers (cheap coaxials from princess auto) off the Pioneer. SO: For 125 watts rms, what should I use in pillars? coaxials or compone…

OR two sundown audio e10 v2's so... 1- does a mag v3 work well sealed @ 1.5 cuft ? the subs web site recommends 1 cuft. will i get more output with the extra .5 cuft ? 2- which will give me deeper bass ? the e-10's or the si mag…

Well i have been bumping the maw for a couple months now, and have just recently been being hard on it. Today on the way home i was listening to late nite tip, when the whole sound changed. literally like night and day instantly. never saw, or heard anything like this before. now it gets right down and plays the low low note in that song like the others. at first i thought the sub was screwed, cause it sounded so different. then i realised it was playing clearer and louder than before, plus hitting lower. anyone ever experiance this with any sub? pretty crazy huh?

Don't hate the BOSS... gf wanted a small system, I'm building her one lol. Regardless, I can't find much info on the sub besides what's listed on the main site and sonicelectronix. BOSS AUDIO SYSTEMS | ENTERTAIN YOURSELF and Boss CX8 - 8" Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix Sub will be powered by only 70wrms at 4 ohm. so question is: what tuning should I do the enclosure for the sub? anyone have any ideas on port length? also airspace recommendations on an 8? She listens to gaga/la roux and ke$ha a lot. I'm honestly not that experienced doing my own enclosures and would prefer help of the forum over me trying to do it myself haha. just an fyi, I am always open to free enclos…

Ok, currently i have a set of Focal 165 3-way components in my yukon and i think they sound great! I know some say that they are harsh, and at first i agree, but after a little eq'ing i got them sounding great imho. I am doing an install for a friend in his Voltswagon gti (nice car:)) and am trying to choose a good (under $350) 3-way component set for him. I am considering the precision power PC.3.65. I will buy an amp according to the speakers i choose. I would recommend my focal set but they might be a little "harsh" in his small car. Those aluminum tweeters in the focals are sharp haha! Anyway, i would just like ya'lls opinion on good 3-way components. they need to hav…

  19. Currently I have a Boston Acoustics G512-44 on a Rockford P1000-1bd. I have it sealed, running at 2-ohm, I like the way it sounds. I listen to mostly rock/rap, with the occasional classic rock and R&B. My goals are to have more output, but still keep accuracy. I really enjoy a tight double bass, and love the deep bass from rap. My G5 plays double bass really good, and hits lows alright. I know I could build a ported box and try that first, but I would like to try something new. Height wise, I cannot fit a 15 inch sub into my trunk, but do have quite a bit of room in there. I would like to stay sealed box, and maybe run two 12's or something. What would be yo…

At high volumes my 18 makes a hollow pop sound. It sounds like someone is flicking the dust cap of the woofer but louder. First I thought bottoming out, but it happens at frequencies where there is not high excursion. This problem also happened on my sa12s I had previously. So now I'm thinking it is my amp, but why would the amp make such a noise? Any ideas? Coils read good, no clipping, constant voltage.

I currently run a single 12 inch zcon and don't really have the room for multiple sub's or any bigger. I'm looking for suggestions on a sub that will get louder and lower if there is one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I could fit a 15 but I don't really want to build the box inside the trunk.
