I know everyone hates comparison threads, but based on spl and lows, which would be better in personal opinion? Audioque 10" street duty, or 10" fi ssd? Sealed box around .8-1.0 cubic ft. Back of a 98 ford ranger

Hey everybody im trying to decide what to upgrade to. The above listed subs are what im considering, I listen to mostly bass heavy music like dubstep, and swisha house or any other kind of screwed music. I plan on putting the new sub in a slot ported box not 100 on the tuning just yet the sub will have to be dual 4ohm and im going to be powering it with a R E Audio DTS-1500.1 which is rated at 700x1 at 2ohms. Everybody just let me know what u think?? P.S the sub will be in a 91 civic hatch and will be a 12 thanks all in advance D.

Im looking for a sub to replace a 10" IDQV2. I will be running it off a JL 500/1. I like the specs on the Fi SSD and the SSA Icon but dont really see a huge diff between the 2, other than getting the copper coil and BP Power (whatever that is..) on the SSD. Can someone please tell me what BP Power is. I searched but didnt find a clear answer.

I've seen a couple people such as DreDay256, sorry to name drop, running subs from fi or ssa as midbass. So to my question, what are the usable higher frequencies that can produce in a very linear line from your subs in a medium size box (either sealed or ported) fom say 60hz on up to.... What? They would be ran off an aq1200d. Looking for some ideas to think about while I still am thinking about my next build. Would be used between sub (1 18" fi q on a BC2000D, high pass set to 27hz low pass set at 70hz) and midrange 6ND430 that I've ran as low as 100 hz up to 1.5k off an aq1200d. Both amps sending clean signals. 220 amp alt, big 3, and 2 shuriken bats in back. Just loo…

Is it possible to build a fiberglass enclosure out of your whole trunk? I have 2 subs that need 6cft each but my trunk only holds 13cft .Right now my box only has 3.2cft each chamber.so it about half of the correct spec. it slams but it the biggest box i could jam into my trunk. looking for alt to keep both subs.

Is there any easy way to get rid of small dips and valleys in the surface of a fiberglass box besides just gettin' at it with a sander? I just about have the whole thing covered with Bondo body filler and am working it over with my Mouse sander. I notice there are some small dips or valleys here and there (actually all over). If I try to get each individually, it will take a lot of time and I am concerned with the body filler hardening before I am done. Should I just mix each batch in very minute quantities? Is there an easier way that I am not noticing? Anyhow, back to the sander it is. 90 degrees outside and I am in a garage with no fan. Damn addiction.

I've decided to finally install my RE 6.5's after having them for about a year. I have been waiting to take some time off of work, but I haven't since last June so I took two whole weeks off . I tried two different methods for laying the molds. I first tried using painters tape to tape off the whole area for the drivers kick, when removing the mold taking off the tape seemed to be a pain and took forever to get off, not to mention the fact that all the tack on the tape came off on my hands and is still there 4 hours later. For the passenger kick I did the Foil method where I just taped off the edges, this went much faster than laying down 30 strips of tape. Also when th…

Since I have 90% of my equipment for the blowthrough, I have been questioning whether my front stage will be able to keep up with my substage. I have been thinking about finally going active on my front stage. I currently have Alpine Type X 3ways. And I'm looking for mids(or a combination of mids) that have a somewhat good level of midbass and clarity. I'd also like a relatively good tweeter to go along with the mids. I typically like mellow tweeters but I'm open to anything as long as it isn't overly aggressive. My 8445 may not be perfectly suited for active applications but it'll be fine. I will be powering this with my sundown 100.2. I'm open to 2way and 2way suggest…

After a year resisting, I finally gave up and got a 15" Magnum to run in my daily driver. Should have done it a long time ago, but you know how that can be. After the Magnums I've heard lately, I can't wait to get this put in this weekend and rocking in the Stratus. It's going in a little different box than most, so we'll see how it works out, but based on the specs, this flared slot chambered transmission line should work absolutely flawlessly, and be a low end monster while not giving up too much on the top end either. I'll have to ride up to Mooresville and let Nick check it out and tell me what he thinks once I get everything worked out, and I'm happy with the en…

Monday turned out to be nice so I decided that I would tackle the task of removing the rear speakers.I cant believe the buzzing & rattling that was caused by all the bass being trapped in the trunk.Well I must say theres a big difference ,I feel alot more bass coming in and filling the cabin.Just incredible what 1-12 can do if installed correctly and given the right power. It took me 1 1/2 hrs to remove the deck speakers and if I wanted to put them back aleast the process would go alittle faster(I hate molding fasteners).Anyone with a '02-'04 Camry needing help with an installation,Holla,I'm ur boi!.....I think I need a massage :thud:

came home today and found my pg tantrum 1200.1 all fixed and waiting at my door. this time i took my time hooking it up and making sure my posititives and negatives were right and once i did that my ears were treated to some of the best woofers i have heard. i could not believe how loud these are. i have the gain set at about 1/4 up and they are so loud. it feels like my jeep is reading to fall apart. the little overhead thing on my ceiling came falling down. only a true basshead can be proud of his car falling apart. thanks SI.

Im in love with it! its not even broken in yet and it sounds deeper than my two audiopipe 15's! And i forget who said it but its does sound louder and deeper than my two 15s. But the other ones are louder on the meter. Plus its two to one. The magnet on this thing is huge (plus its 54 pounds). Can't wait til the Jan. 30 to order another one. Rusty is awesome. It came exactly when he said it would. Great customer service. i'll try to post pics today. The files on my phone is too large.

So first try at everything failed miserably.....my box sucked, my amp mysteriously blew fuses, etc. But now! I built a new box for my AQ SDC2.5 12" sub.....around 2cuft net tuned to ~38Hz.......and got the sub put in and all ready to go. Now, I was more than a little nervous hooking up my amp. I rechecked EVERYTHING to make sure all the wires were good, and i got some new RCAs (mainly cause i wanted to). Finally, it was time to hook up the power wire.....seriously, I was scared. But for no reason Hooked it up, and nothing blew! Then i turned on my car, and the sub didn't play. I was like, "Of course..." but after double checking the gains, and adjusting the bass…

Sold the sa15s and got a pair of Fi SSDs and must say i'm slightly disappointed. The lows are far better with the fis but the sundowns were far "louder" than the fi's. The box is build to spec and I tuned the amp up and they just can't keep up with the sundowns. I think i'm going to try to trade the ssds and cash for a pair of level 4s.

Well I can't wait! I am finally buying a mag. After seeing the claw basket come out and missing the intial LOW price on them, then missing the 2nd gen. Finally getting a 3rd gen! I have always wanted a mag but always gotten side tracked with other subs (yeah I am dumb) I am finally ordering one. I emailed Nick this morning and I am calling in my order tomorrow! Previously I have owned a 12XXX couple years back, a ED12 A flatcone, and a 13W7 (just did sell it). Hoping to exceed my happiness with those subs with a new 15" mag!!! I am so excited! I sold my 13 to get an 18 of some sort but after reading here and other places and talking to Chad Hicks for a long time last nigh…
