Subwoofers / Speakers

I've been looking between an XCON 15 or two Sa-12's. XCON being in a 3.5 tuned to 33hz and the Sa-12's in a 3.5 tuned to 35 hz. Either choice has the same power Saz-1500dv.2. I'm just having a tough time deciding. Both choices are around the same price. I just want an average daily system that gets very loud and sounds good doing it. It will be going in a trunk car though. Any input/personal experiences with either of the subs are greatly appreciated.

  3. I got shafted by robotunderground with a dank adire audio brahma 12". It died after about 6 months of use running it on an Arc Audio 1000.1, 800w @ 4ohms. I researched about his frankenstein subs after the fact unfortunately. So to the point at hand, I haven't really kept up with what current drivers are out there and what is quality since I would say 2007 or 2008 when I got a Fi BTL 15". I've been looking at their 12" BL, RE SXX 12" and the SSA ICON 12". With all the objectivity you have, can you say I'm making a sound decision picking up the ICON? I keep hearing when US Amps bought out RE, their product quality diminished. I loved the Fi sub I had, so I poked around th…

My next setup is going to consist of a single 12" driver in a Khaotik ported enclosure. My question: As far as output goes, not SQ by any means, which is better suited for my situation? A Fi SSD 12" or an SSA ICON 12"? The sub will be seeing around 1500 watts, probably not the full 1500 but that's about RMS on the amp. I'm looking for strictly output. I have all electrical necessary for the setup. It's just that after shipping, these 2 subs are about the exact same price, and same RMS rating. Just needing input, on the output of them lol. Thanks ahead, -Shag

Well, I have 2 RE SE 12's on a Us Amps XT4000DEV2, heres the problem my stock speakers can't hold up for shit.......And my max budget on Speakers is 100$ and as for an amp I'm pretty set on the Us Amps XT800.4V2 for the price(50)......So my decision is on what components i should get....Was originally set on some Type R's to match my rears, then SSA has the bravox group buy and all this happening I can't decide i just want to hear my mids and highs over my subs. I well deaden the doors and make a little sealed chamber for better mid. Might go active but I'm not so sure. I also plan on getting an EQ so just need to decide on which things to get. Oh BTW my speaker hole is 6…

  6. I am running an Audioque 3500d.1 to 2 DD3512e d4, if I run both pos and neg wire (with 8 ga.)one direct to each woofer (parallel) will this get me a little more wattage to each woofers? Currently I am running just one pos and neg wire (12 ga.)to the box and the woofer are ran parallel from there.

I just got two Audioque HD 12's and I need to know if they will perform well using the SSA XCON dual 12 box design. They will be powered by a 3000d in a 90 Mustang. I sent the box designs to a builder but he is not familier with Audioque. What do you guys think? Need feedback ASAP!!

Hey all I just bought a new truck and I'm starting to build/price a new system for it. First things first I'll be getting 2 10's to fit under my extended cab seat. I already have the box so I'm just looking to find the right subs now. What I'm looking for is something along these lines-: -Maximum mounting depth of 6 1/4" -Quality>sheer volume. (but being able to pound would be a plus) -They will be in a sealed inclosure with approximately .95cf of air space total. -power handling can be about whatever. I'll be buying a new amp based on the power required. -I'm wanting to spend around $100-$150 per sub. So nothing too fancy. (and if you know of something cheaper t…

My JL XR tweeters finally gave out on me after 5 years of service and I am looking at upgrading to a 6.5" set of components from my current 5.25s. I am looking at the Bravox CS60K's on the group buy due to the phenomenal price and what appears to be some serious quality speakers. Does anyone know what the mounting depth is on the 6.5 mid? Also, does anyone have any feedback on this component set? Good punchy midbass, crisp clean highs? I have a good deal of power to send to them (MTX 4160, I know REAL old school) and an AudioControl EQS to clean up the sound.

Alright peeps its almost rebuild time in the work truck. If you dont know, im running 4 sa8s on a saz3k @1 ohm in 2.2 cubes @35 hz. it sound pretty loud but im just not satisfied. I want it louder. I have about 2.5 cubes to use but im limited to the 4 8s or 2 10s because of height restrictions. any suggestions?? Im thinking maybe 2 Nightshade v2 10s on a saz3k or maybe even 6k if needed as i have a few saz3ks stashed away. Dose anyone make a louder 10 that would work in my space? im pretty sure i have the loudest 8s out there. any thought?

I have a 90 GT Mustang and I am stuck between two different set ups. I either want to go with two ICON 12's or a single XCON 15. I have never heard either set up. I am using a 3000d for power with good electricals. My question is which will be better from as far as output? I know two 12's is more cone area but with lower power. The 15 would be less cone area but is rated for 750 more watts. I plan on using the box specs on the SSA forum. Any ideas or advice?

Ok. Here's the story. I got a check for 190 bucks. I figure, I'll buy my first sub. (Sold the RE SE-x to a buddy, change of plans) I'm doing 2 12's, so I buy a IA Lethal Injection. Couple days go by, no updates. So I email, and the guy at Vertexaudio.com tells me he's gonna shoot a call to Nick. (great guys to do business with btw) Turns out, they're out of stock on a certain part of the sub and Nick estimates 3-4 weeks on a restock. Now I read about his recent health troubles so I'd take his word for it, but in the meantime why not play the market. But lets backtrack now. Before I ordered the Lethal Injection, I was dead set on two SA-12's, however I heard that my measly…

As the title reads: Can a pair of midbass speakers be used on a monoblock amp? I understand they would not be in stereo mode, but how much will/will not affect the 80/90 to 250hz range. Has anyone tried this or am I just pissin in the wind? Asking questions as I plan a new front stage to go with my plans for a wall setup. Thanks

So I was looking at my new Crescendo Audio CCX65's and I noticed 2 possible issues I'd like feedback on. Issue 1. One of the crossovers is loose in its case and rattles around and can be moved around inside the case by pushing or pulling on the block. The other one is rock solid. Will this cause any issues other then an annoying rattle? If not I will just open the case and adhere it down like the solid one. Issue 2. One of the mids is not centered. I am not sure if this will rub or not during use since its not like these things have subwoofer excursion levels. I pushed the cone up and down a bit and didn't see or hear it rub. But I have a damping factor of about -6. So I…
