Subwoofers / Speakers

Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

Okay. The sub system is powered off of 1 JL 500/1. I have already asked you guys about a Dcon setup.. I figure these are my options: 1. I can install my 04S15L7 which is a 2 ohm DVC which I would wire to 4 ohm. This would require that I get an enclosure for it, which would run me in the $200 range. 2. Next is a 12" Dcon in a ported enclosure to spec which would run me about $300-$350. 3. Lastly, I was thinking dual 12" Dcons in a sealed/ported enclosure which would run me about $405-$500. Add another $400 on top of that because their is a big chance I will be get a DC Power alternator during this process. What do you guys think?

Hi Guys, I recall seeing something like this before but I can't place my finger on it. Speaking with the firm, they said they haven't sent any of these to North America in over a year. Perhaps I'm thinking of a European company.... What's your take?

I am running a Pioneer DEH P7200hd and two Diamond Audio D1 6.5 components in my 2002 GMC Sierra. I want to run two 10"subs in a fitted down firing box under the rear seat(extended cab). I'm planning on using a Sundown SAZ1000D at 2ohms. The box I would like to use is only .77cu ft., which subs do you think would perform better in that limited airspace; 2 Incriminater Audio 10" 187series or 2 SSA 10"DCON or 2 Resonant Engineering 10" SRx or 2 Diamond Audio 10"D1 ????? Please help, thank you. p.s. any other suggestions would also be helpful, but I'd like to stay away from mainstream brands if possible

  7. First off is how i feel right now. I haven't been this happy in quite awhile (been bassless for nearly...well....its been awhile. i blew up my temp sub on loan from a friend) so...i am working with this. 1994 maxima as in the sig with a memphis 16-MC1000d. my car right now has NO sound dampening products installed as of right now because i wanted to do a before and after test. ive got 30 sq ft of damplifier and a bucket of spectrum waiting to be installed along with 40 sq ft of overkill and some rattlepad. i had a 15 from the first run of drivers installed in my car before i received my new mag. i loved my first driver, but unfortunately had some issues with my setup an…

  9. Well...I've never heard the SI Mag D2...but from what I read it sounds amazing. Help me imagine it. Compare the sub to an IDMAX or SoudSplinter rl-p or Alpine Type R or 12W7. Thanks in advance...I look forward to the replies as I am a bit excited by what you may say about it.

  12. Hi all, I blew my old POS Kenwood after 3.5 years of beating the crap out of it, so its time for a new sub. My amp is a eD Nine.2 giving 400x1 @4 ohms or 200x2 @2 ohms. I need help choosing a new woofer that will work for my set up. I will be building a new box so ported vs sealed does not matter. Price is up to $250 for the sub. I would like to focus on SQ, but would like a lil SPL. I listen to hip hip/rap music so I need some deep bass fill to keep me happy. So far I am looking at the Image Dynamics IDQ, the Diamond Audio D3 and also the Sound Splinter RL-i. What are your thoughts on these subs? Are the others that you would recommend? Thanks in advance for any h…

Ok..My original plan was to go with a single 12" Q sub. However in my intro thread I was informed I would probably want to look at the BL instead. This is waht Ihave to work with: 1999 Mercury Cougar Looking at about a 1.1ft^3 Sealed enclosure. Amp: Kicker XS100 1200watts I'm aware the Q is rated at 1000w rms. I didn't think the 1200 would be that big of a difference. I read the BL is not a sealed enclosure friendly sub which kind of steered me on a differnt course. Any recommendations are welcome. I'm trying to keep it in the $300 and below range if possible. Thanks

Hey guys, Recently I have been really unhappy with my subwoofer. After my install of the HAT I haven't been using my sub. I have it all the way down on 0 just because it sounds so sloppy. My amp pushes 400 watts at 2 ohms. Give me a few suggestions on a good sub to blend with my hybrids... Edit: Oh and I'm gonna go sealed Thanks, Mike

My current box is 16cf net. with 232sq inches of port area, it was built for four 18's The first set of subs eD 19ov.2s [ pros] accurate, clean bass deep impact [ cons] weak suspension second set up audioque hdc3 18's [pros] durable, and veryloud [cons ] sounds like horse ass, lowend sounded hollow. Now i'm lookin at SSA X con. Just wanna know should i swap out 18s or build a new baffle and step down to 15's since my air space is limited for most 18s. I'm not an spl fiend nor an sq purist i just want a daily set that pounds hard and sound great at the same time btw my ports on my box is tuned@33hz

Hi All, As some of you have mentioned, I threw up some snaps of a 12" prototype sub on the site. I have just added another one - a 20" unit. I'll be spending a bit of time with these in the near future. Head to this link to see them: http://testbed.mach5audio.com Best regards, Mark

  23. I currently have an RE SX15D4 in a 4 cu ft net box tuned to 31 hertz running off an SAZ-1500D. I want cleaner bass with equivalent output or more. So I was thinking about just buying an XCON 15 Dual 2 and putting it in my current box. Then while i was looking at the classifieds forum i found 2 XCON dual 1 15's for sale for just over $500. Basically $100 more than buying 1 new XCON. If i bought them i'd put them in a sealled box 6 cu ft net. So i guess i'm asking what would you do? And i'm also wondering about power. I don't want to get a bigger amp than i have now. So if you don't think the 1500 will be up to the task of 2 15" XCON's @1 ohm sealed let me know. I'm not lo…

Hello. I really have a thing for sealed subwoofer setups, mainly for how well it produces all the details of drums. I understand how going sealed sacrifices output, so I was considering dual 15s sealed in the trunk of my Saturn, so as to attempt to have extra output with sealed SQ. I have around 5 cubes space available, and a Rockford p1000-1bd (I want to run it at 2 ohms @ 500 RMS). Any suggestions for a good pair of 15s of this criteria? Peace.

Okay, so I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with installs on a toyota prius. I've researched a little bit and can't find all that much. I'm looking to maybe get two SSA GCON 12s. And I'd like to get around a 1300 watt amp to power them. But I'm not sure how much a Prius can handle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
