ok...soon i will be gettin two memphis 1500d's, so new subs will be in order as my treo ss's won't take that kind of abuse. i am thinking on getting the treo ssx's..so here are my questions.. 1) how does ur sub, in your opinion, stack up to a ssx? will they take 1500 wrms? ssx link<---scroll down to the specs link, plz 2) currently i am running two 15" treo ss's, each in their own box, 2.5ft^3, 25in^2 of port tuned to 34 hz off a memphis 1000d...how would the d2 work in similar enclosures? this is the set-up i will be competeing with in usaci, maybe db drag...would i benefit from ur d2? i know i can go to ur website and read up on the sub, but i would like to hear ur o…

Hey guys. I' m going to be buying a new sub in a couple weeks. I can't decide between a 15" DC Level 4 or a 15" Fi Bl. I will be running it off of the AQ1200D. My goal is to get the loudest/hardest bass. Thanks for the input!

So i just received my BTL about an hour ago, and since i just bought myself a nice touchscreen sony camera, i thought i would document the unboxing, install, and everything. But since i am a little frusterated with FI right now, i figure i would vent. I purchased a 12" btl back in December, and was 105% satisfied with quality and everything about the sub. I got bored of the 12" so i sold it and now moving up to a 15". But this time around, im left feeling a little doubtful about FI product. Ill post specs and then vent: BTL15 DUAL 1 | DUAL 2 Fs: 35.6 Hz | 34.6 Hz Re: 0.7 Ohms/coil | 1.4 Ohms/coil Qms: 5.72 | 5.90 Qes: .24 | .22 Qts: .23 | .22 Mms: 256g | 272g …

Quick little background..... I'm 19 and own a '05 4runner. I started with (3) 10" mtx's and thought that was the sh*t! Soon I learned about JL,RE,RF etc.. Soon after learning about these brands and their reputation I ordered a 13w7, but soon after purchasing that sub I was introduced to FI Audio. After watching many video's of FI making many customers satisfied I decied to ditch my W7 and order a pair of 15" BTL's. I know some what about car audio, but nearly nothing compared to some people I've seen on these fourms. Soon I will be ordering a pair of 15" BTL's, but I'm not totally sure what options I should pick for the subwoofer? I would be using the subs as a daily…

I'm looking to get either a Fi SSD 15, or an SSA Icon 15... Which ever one I get will be in a ported enclosure, tuned to ~30hz. What are the pros/cons for each of these subs, and how do they differ? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi, all... I'm currently running a TC-3K Dual 2Ohm on a Sundown 1500D and looking to make a change. I like the single 15" setup so I'm looking at the Havoc 15". The enclosure would be sealed, net 2.5 cubes, 1.5" mounting baffle for the sub. Looking for LSQ setup. Any of you have experience with both of the subs or how the Havoc would compare. The TC-3K hits incredibly hard down low but it's just not as "tight" as I would like and doesn't have much of a top end in my opinion. Also I'm open to other subs as well. Budget less than $400. Thanks...

Does anyone know why ID never made one of these? Its seems stupid that they havent, seems like it could have been a good money maker if they would have done it years ago when they made the 10 and 12.

Man, I'm impressed by the looks of this thing...I saw pictures and all, but in person is just that much better. Dig the look of the spoked basket b/c you can see a lot of the cone...just gives it a better look, IMO. Chromed motor = I'm surprised by the suspension stiffness, though...seems to me fairly soft compared to the old one? Maybe it'll make the cone move "faster"...help out transient response... It's just too bad that all I have is ~300w @ 4ohms right now...waiting on my Tantrum to arrive. Must...go...install...

trying to figure out what went wrong with my brother sub. box is 3.85 cubes net turned to 30 hz. (2 4" diameter pvc pipes... yes i know that not enough port area.. was suppose to be a temp box). amp is a kole qx1 3000d wired at 2 ohm but turned way down.. i was planning to redo the box and everything. i measured voltage to be 17v at amp terminals with a 55hz test tone recorded at -3 db. you can do the math on that if you like but its not much power at all.. its in a mercury sable with stock system. installed ----------> stock head unit - stock amp - mtx req - amp (i told him to not turn the headunit volume past half as it starts to clip and distort) current condition i…

So once I get everything else EVER done to the car I would like to get some mags. I hear too many good things. I'd like to stick with 15s but they're so big, and my trunk is not. My question is how much air do they need behind them in a vented enclosure? I'm not sure how much i can squeeze out but it would probably be 4-5 cubes if i really try. I'd like to stick at that for a pair of 15s. Obviously thats right where i should be for 12s but...aren't 15s so much prettier . So will there be a huge decrease in my low end or output? Would it be enough to justify just using 12s? Whats the minimum volume ported you would use for two 15s?

I haven't bought this sub yet but, i do plan on buying a 15" mag and plan on having a JL 500/1 feeding it. I really don't want to go over $1,000 and still have a bad ass system. I might even save up for the JL 1000/1 but its a bit more than i want to spend. I am shooting for SQ and still want low's. I'm guessing 3^3 seal box will have slightly better lows than 2.5^3? This install is going into a Crown Victoria 89'. So i got plenty of trunk space to deal with. Also curious how loud this speaker would get with just a JL 500/1 feeding it instead of having a JL 1000/1.

Today I picked up my 15" MAG and found it to be in excellent condition. Bought it off CA for $200!! Anyway for the next couple weeks I'll put it in a sealed box until I get the chance to talk to Woodlawn Cabnitry (Phil Salisbury) in person about fitting a ported box in my trunk. SI's site suggests 2.3-3 cuft sealed. I couldn't find driver displacement on SI's site so I'm guessing its around .19 (using Fi Q's displacement, fair assumption?). For those who have used their Mag in a sealed box, I was wondering what size the enclosure was, how the results were and if you would suggest it being a little bigger or smaller. Right now I'm thinking of 2.5cuft after driver displacem…

Well after running my 15" mag for a while I noticed recently that it seemed like it was running out of juice when I'd turn it up. It was like it wanted to get louder but couldn't. My lights at night seemed to dim really bad. Then a few days ago I go to turn my car on and the battery is almost completely dead and the engine won't turn over. I didn't leave any electrical on overnight. I got a jump and the battery seemed to work to start the car two more times that day but I left my stereo off so there was no strain on the electrical system. I lifted the battery out to replace it and there was a large puddle of battery acid in the battery tray. I had to use all kinds …

I was wondering how a 15" mag sealed with 1000 watts will sounds in a 2.8 box. I was hoping to achieve a LSQ setup if that is possible. I would like to know if in a sealed setup the mag will be able to put out a fair amount of volume becasue i already know that no matter what i do to it it will sound great i am just wondering about the volume? Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought 2 - 15" Memphis M3's recently, but at different times from different people. This was the first one I bought, I have yet to start on the second one. This one was sold the day after I finished it... Anyway, when I got it, the bottom plate was shifted. (almost every motor I get seems to be shifted) So in order to fix it, first Ihad to pull the bottom plate. Here is the method I came up with to do it, w/o hurting the ferrite. I start with a putty knife, and 2 butter knifes. First I gently tap the putty knife in between the plate and magnet. Then, I gently place each butter knife on each side. Then I remove the putty knife, but leave the butter knives…

i loved how it performed off the rear channels of the tru 4.65 and was excited about the potential. i finally get around to giving it enough power (1000-1100w off US Amps 300X) and im just not that impressed with the lows. everything else plays like a dream and the sub/amp combo is insanely clean. its sitting in a 2cf right now and im wondering if polyfill will do the trick (and if so how much?) or if i should just make another box. i hear people favoring 2.5cf or so... what do you guys think? i wish i had a car to run it IB but i drive an xterra... ah well

okay, i know a lot* of people are talking about Resonant Engineering nowadays and i could honestly say that i believe the praise that they get. however, i like being different and i always try to find that 'sleeper' brand. i wanted to know how these 2 subs compare. i'd like the most SPL possible without sacrificing much SQ. Hitting the lows hard is a must too. I plan on running 800watts one of these, ported. Anybody got experiences with both? Im kinna torn between these 2 subs and i need something to stand out from the other. any help is greatly appreciated. thankss

well i just got my first listen to a 15" SI-D2, and i must say that i am even more impressed than i was planning to be. i was expecting nothing less than spectacular, what i got was slightly beyond amazing. the box i was using is a 5 cube box tuned to 43 Hz. it is a CRX style box being used in a sedan with the woofer firing upwards and the ports venting to the rear of the trunk. i know that this set up is less than ideal, however it was what i had on hand, and i dont have the time to build an appropriate box for it right now. even with this minor set back though, i am still very pleased with the result. the SI D2 delivers very taught, punchy, intense, and chest poundi…

Which would have deeper and louder bass, which would you choose? I just can't decide on which subs to choose. Either would be in a ported enclosure, also will a 15" sub respond fast enough for classic rock music? Thanks.
