As of right now I have 2 dd1508s on a MB quart discus 1.5k. I'm looking to get rid of my 8s and upgrade to a single 15. Power output of my amp I'd 4ohm=375 2ohm=750 and 1ohm=1500. I have plenty of space to work with (olds bravada(blazer)). 2 agm deep cycles, and a 200a alt. Depending whether I sell them or trade them I was seeing what people would recommend on my power supply that is reasonable. Like I said I might not buy new if I can get a decent trade for them. Any ideas? (I know daily or spl will be asked and it needs to be all around. This is a daily driver but I do meca on weekends.)

this may be in the wrong section so mods plz move it if needed ok. substage sounds absolutely amazing but i'm tired of turning the sub volume down so i can hear my frontstage. which is bose btw (ftl!). sooo.... time for an amp and some comps! i am getting around 1200 clean watts to my Q. what kind of power should i need up front to match or at least keep up with my sub? no real budget here... just because i have no idea what kind of money i will need to spend. once i figure out what power i should need, then i will figure a budget lol... i can see the answers now... "its all in the application" or "i cant help you unless i hear the car" or whatever.... just humor m…

I just made a deal on a PPI PC2350 (thanks tirefryr for the heads up) and am going to build a new box for my mag to go with it. Right now my 15 is in a 2 cuft sealed box and I can hear that I need it in a little bigger of a box to get lower. Would 3 cuft be too much sealed? I can't wait to hear how this baby sounds with 1400 watts being thrown at it.

So I noticed Mach 5's got something in the works with the IXL 8". Was wondering if there's any updates on these?? I'm going to run a quad 8" setup and am down to my final choices of subs; DD 1508 and the RE RE8. I'll highly consider the IXL if it will rival these. ps It's great to see a Canadian company making some waves in the audio world. CHEERS FROM RED DEER!!

Hi, I'm new here / don't post on forums much (too busy!), but I have a question... I am trying to find out if anyone makes a "Marine" woofer / subwoofer that is fairly efficient / would run reasonably well off a 100 watt (actual total RMS watts) amplifier. Very few manufacturers seem to give complete specs, and the few that do seem only to make very inefficient woofs. One 10" we looked at had a Mms of 186 grams and is ~ 85 dB sensitivity. Our target is 92-94 dB/2.00v/1meter. Other considerations: These are for a friend's pontoon boat. The "enclosures" available are approx. 2.5 cu. ft. A low end cutoff of 50 Hz would be plenty low. 10's might "do it", but a good efficient…

For those who have bougth DC Sound Lab products. I am a witness to the dedication to keep us happy w/ their excellent service. Due to clipping from my amp my tinsel leads on my lvl4 12's had burned. Emailed Rusty Flowers, he told me to send them back, to be reconed. Shipped them off and they were back in no time, w/ no cost to me. Just thought I would point this out to show my gratitude and acknowledge a job well done' along w/ a good sense of business held by this company. Thanx Rusty and big upps

  8. Hi Guys I'm also planning to do the door speakers (With an Amplifier) in my car and I have never done this I've always only added a sub. So I may have a lot of questions and I'm looking for some direction. This will be hooked up to factory Head unit Via LC6i (unless directed otherwise.) My car has 8 total speakers. Front door has 6.5" speakers and then tweeters in the dash. Rear doors have a 6.5" at the bottom and then a tweeter next to the door handle. I have added pics below for reference. I have no idea what the depth would be or if spacers would or could be used? Not sure how to find that out. Now I don't want to go crazy but I'm willing to flex my bud…

  11. I've been browsing speakers to replace in my doors as my project is finally coming together and I came across the "Vipera f6." http://lautsprechershop.de/pdf/audiodevelopment/f_line.pdf 26mm xmax... Wow that blows away the exodus anarchy. I highly doubt I would buy them (at around $280 each) however I was wondering if anyone has ever used this midbass or their other products? Interesting product to say the least.

Currently I have a 15" Fi SSD in a ported enclosure with almost 4 cu. ft. It is by far an amazing subwoofer hitting very low notes and hitting them hard. Recently however, I bought another 175 x 4 wrms amp and 6.5" component set that I am currently installing. That leaves another two channels that can be filled up with two more speakers, and I'd rather not use it on rear door speakers. My current subwoofer, does not give the desire punch that I want, and I was wondering if I should buy two woofers or mid-bass/mid-range drivers. Will these give me that punch fill that I want in my system, or should I instead go with two 8" subwoofers for punch. Another question is what cre…

  15. I am asking this for a co worker of mine wanting to get a single 12 Skar Audio VVW12. It is rated at 600RMS and I know it can take more power easily. Now my question is that he has a all JL setup and has 2 12 W0's in a JL ported box. That box is huge and doesn't sound to good to me. I would like to replace it with a single Skar and run it off his JL J2 500.1 amp. It is rated at 500RMS @2ohms. Will this be enough power to use with the Skar? He is doing this because in his 2006 4DR Civic the other box is taking up all his space, I am thinking being custom built box the single sub will be less space and sound alot better. I am running a single Skar off 800-900rms and is mor…

Ok so my sub stopped playing today; neither coil will measure either. The only thing that is bothering me is that I cannot understand why. I do not think I overpowered it in all honesty. I've had the same amp on it for 2 years. The coil visually looks brand new: no melted former or discoloration. I cannot see breaks in the tinsel leads or wire ANYWHERE. There is no evidence whatsoever that the bottom of the spider crashed into the top plate; none that I can see. There is no rubbing when I push down on the cone. I've tried the sub on multiple amps. Any ideas what broke on me? Tinsel leads broken inside of the spider? That wouldn't make a lot of sense, though. The spider is…

I have a really big van. Plenty of space for a huge ported box, so i should be able to underpower the subs a little. I'm hoping a bunch of MJs will be louder than the (4) 15" FI SSDs i have now. A pair of saz-1500 strapped were tested to do 3740 watts at 12.8 volts. A single MJ-18 is rated 600 watts rms (6) 8 ohm MJs could be wired to 1.34 ohms (8) 8 ohm MJs could be wired to 1 ohm Can I do more in a huge ported box or should i just keep my SSDs?

Okay DEI Viper 12's in a ported box. Is like .2 cu ft bigger than specs. suggest. Tuned to 28 htz. When in the Mountaineer I could put the bass to positive 3 and it slammed and sounded awsome. Now I have to have it at like -1 or 0, or else it sounds like ass. The box is now in a 1995 Dodge Intrepid in the backs seat. Reason it's not in the trunk is beacuse the trunk rattled like hell with the old subs and these murder my old ones so the trunk would be all I would hear. I want it to slam like it used to and sound good again. Got any ideas??? BTW Subs hit towards the roof and ports towards the front of the car. J

I used a pair of Skar IVX 12's for midbass? I came across an extra Two Channel amp, and bought two fifteens before my Skars came in, because I'm the worst impulse buyer, ever. Would it even work? I mean, setting my HPF on the fifteens to like, 60 hz, running the skars from 60-100, and then my components 100+? All of them on different amps, of course.

  25. I just sold my SA-12, and i'm currently looking for a new sub, I have a couple ideas. I want a 12' or a 15', i've been looking at several 15's, and i have about $600 to spend on it, i was powering my SA-12 with a Hifonics BRZ2100.1D. I want my next sub to be able to take that with ease. I've been looking at an Fi: BTL N2, Xcon 15' or 12', IA Death Penalty 12' or 15', or maybe even a warden 12' or 15'. I'm really just looking for a sub that will hit harder than my SA-12, its in the trunk of a hemetically sealed bmw, so it has to be loud in order for the sound to carry to the cabin because 80% of the sound stays inside of the trunk point is, I'm willing and open to all sug…
