im looking for a good pair of components for an SQ install 6.5" for around $200 shipped, going at around 65w at 4 ohms or 180 at 4 ohm. do yall have any suggestions? and if so where to purchase them as well, im going 2 be playing them with a US Amps merlin md-41 amp.

So I'm about to build my second sub, but I'm stuck on which dustcap to use. I originally ordered the Carbon Fiber dustcap, but ended up getting the Poly dustcap as a freebie with an order I made. After placing it on the cone just to see what it looks like, I'm starting to wonder if the Poly dustcap actually looks better? What do you guys think? Go with the Carbon Fiber dustcap, or the Poly dustcap?

I've been browsing speakers to replace in my doors as my project is finally coming together and I came across the "Vipera f6." http://lautsprechershop.de/pdf/audiodevelopment/f_line.pdf 26mm xmax... Wow that blows away the exodus anarchy. I highly doubt I would buy them (at around $280 each) however I was wondering if anyone has ever used this midbass or their other products? Interesting product to say the least.

Just hooked my amp up to mids and highs and the white rca end into my amp is only coming out with sound very quiet and static as hell?if i got new rcas they dont come with the ground wire that came with the ones i got wiith my kit. What do you guys suggest i do? Thanks.

So I'm looking to go bigger (who isn't? ) and I was checking out obsidians. They look pretty nice, I'm pretty sure that the product is going to be great unlike some brands that are just starting out since obsidian was established by some reputable people. I've been wanting to do a big build for a while now and I've been hopping between brands, doing price checks and just seeing what I like most. I currently have an RE SX15D4 in a 4 cu ft net box tuned to 31 hertz running off an SAZ-1500D. I want cleaner bass with equivalent output or more. So I was thinking about just buying an XCON 15 Dual 2 and putting it in my current box. Then while i was looking at the classifieds forum i found 2 XCON dual 1 15's for sale for just over $500. Basically $100 more than buying 1 new XCON. If i bought them i'd put them in a sealled box 6 cu ft net. So i guess i'm asking what would you do? And i'm also wondering about power. hey, posting this up for future reference for people that might need the info i have an old 12" claw basket mag and the surround is torn on it. i am wondering: 1- is it possible to get a recone on it? or do you guys only do the new subs 2- if it is possible, is it possible to keep the same look of the old mag? or would it look like the new ones after the recone? 3 -and how much would a recone cost thanks

Hi everyone, i started to describe my plans in the noob section but i figured i would bring it over here so it would get some more attention and i could begin ordering some parts. The car is an '07 G35 coupe, and i am looking for a system that can get reasonably loud, sound good soing it, and add the least amount of weight as i don't wanna kill the weight distribution on the car. Ok so my sub stopped playing today; neither coil will measure either. The only thing that is bothering me is that I cannot understand why. I do not think I overpowered it in all honesty. I've had the same amp on it for 2 years. The coil visually looks brand new: no melted former or discoloration. I cannot see breaks in the tinsel leads or wire ANYWHERE. There is no evidence whatsoever that the bottom of the spider crashed into the top plate; none that I can see. There is no rubbing when I push down on the cone. I've tried the sub on multiple amps. Any ideas what broke on me? Tinsel leads broken inside of the spider? That wouldn't make a lot of sense, though. The spider is…

I'm just curious is all. Looking at these for my application they don't look back spec wise. $ wise is really good for me. I'm broke as a joke right now. Sealed box like .8ft^3 ish depending on where I buy the box. Could be .5 could be .65 could be .85. So this 10" wants .75 so im in the ballpark. I've just never heard of these. Tried the search and 0 results found. Gotta be an error. Are these as bad as the price reflects?

I got this off of caraudio.com and I couldn't find anything close to all this news on the "official" SI site. I understand this may not even be the chosen driver, but this IS the driver I want, specifically the Shollower mounting depth (by a full inch!) and secondly but not as important - smaller, more specific enclosure requirements. If this ends up being the new Mag, it means I'll be getting this to stick in my Rav4, which my current Mag was supposed to go into be can't because of mounting depth issues. like the topic says, i'm looking to do a budget build. I already have an old 500/1 amp. I'm looking to pick up a used 10w3v3 on ebay for like $110. I want to build a 2.0cf box with a 4" port tuned to 32hz. Question is: is the 2cf box and 4" port too big? or am I still within the realms of "should be ok". I'll be giving it 500 watts.
