Well I have a SI 12" sub thats been in my room all winter waiting to be installed. Well then early spring I decided to change almost my entire system. I now have a Arc Audio 2500XXK to run my sub. This is one sick powerful amp at 1 Ohm which I plan to run that way for 1050+ watts. Anyway, I entertained the idea of putting 2 12" subs in my car, but then realized due to space problems in my trunk, that would not be a good idea. So now I am wondering with that amp, should I go with a single 15" instead? I assume the box would be a little bigger, then the box for the 12" but not nearly as big as what two 12" would take up!

  6. Hello all, A few years back my subwoofer and head unit was stolen so I've been out of the bass game for some time. Luckily, my amps were left behind as they were in the false floor in my Xterra. Am looking to get a new head unit and subwoofer/box. I currently am using an Alpine MRD M1005 amp and want to wire at 2ohms to deliver 1k watts rms. I am looking for something that slams hard and clean, and I listen mostly to hip hop/rap/rock/alt rock type of music. I am also open to building a ported or sealed box - although I may prefer sealed for ease of construction and to save space in my Xterra. If I go ported - I am not sure which direction to fire the sub as I've…

I guess I don't know much about this subject. I did a quick search on here and didn't find all the info I was looking for on the questions that I've had lately. To my understanding, it's just the natural frequency of the sub. I'd like to know a little more than that. Recently I saw a topic where some 8's with ~38hz FS were for sale and someone described them to play really low on music, how nice they are for music, on and on. I didn't know if these subs were meant to play lower than 38 hz or if those people just called +38hz 'low'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the FS is 1 frequency and not including the + and - frequencies (to some small extent) meaning that the sub can p…

So I will be in the market for new sub woofers and I need some help narrowing/making a choice. They will be 2 12's What I'm looking for out of the sub is some thing that will play nicely with the front stage, which will consist of Mach 5 mli65's in the doors and seas 27TFNN's in the pillars being ran active by an 880prs. I'm sure 2 12's will have more then enough output for me so that is not being considered. The subs will start out their life in a sealed enclosure but I would like them to be versatile enough to experiment with different enclosures. Power available is 1400 ~ 1600 @1ohm and I have no idea at other impedances its a sundown Audio prototype. Price ran…

Hey all, I just put two DD 1508's ported in the back of my extended cab f150, and to be honest they sound like poo. They do get loud, but notes just run together, no definition. That being said I'm thinking about offloading them and trying two maw15's sealed. I'm curious if these are more of a SQ driver, for the price they are hard to say no to.

The SI website says that it recommends 3.5ft^3 tuned to 27hz for the 15" and that the RMS is 975w. Would it be ok in a 4.06ft^3 enclosure tuned to 34hz running off of a solid 1200w rms? Oh yeah....wuddup Denim?!
