Hey guys - I wanted to take just a second and say hi and tell you a little about me, Daber Audio, and planned future products. I'm an audio junkie, drag racing fan, father of two, married, guy from central Illinois. When I was a little kid (probably about two years old) my dad had an Pionner/Technics/Marantz home stereo set up. I loved to sit and watch the equalizer (digital display) and thought the lines moving up and down were stick people dancing. I then figured out there was a correloation between what sound was being played and which "stick people" danced. So there it began, the obsession. As I got a little older I started getting in to home hifi, then a natural prog…

well i have decided that it is time for a switch up in the system. i curently have a RE sx 15", with a american bass 100.1, but the sx is being sold today. after reading many rave reviews and talking to sean (ibander on most fourms) i am pretty set in that i want to get the new mag. the only thing is if i want a 12 or a 15. my dilemma, i would like trunk space. but no big deal if i dont have any. ibander said that with too big a box none of the sound will make it into the cabin, i believe what he says being that he knows more than me and has more experience. i will probally just go with a 12" ported i dont really have a question, or a point. just wanted to say hi and yo…

I just got a 2002 police interceptor for 2k and want to put a system in it. I listen only to rap and love deep clear bass; I want either a single 15 or dual 12's. I want to spend $1500 or less Should i get a single 15 or 2 12's? What brand should i get? What should i power it with? Why? I know i didnt provide a lot of information (i dont know what other info to provide) and this is all personal preference but any help is much appreciated. I don't know trunk dimensions at this point (car's in the shop)

I have a ssa 15" xcon in a 4.0CF box tuned to 29hz in the back of my wagon. Its hooked up to a hifonics 1610d amp which is rated at 1600rms at 1-ohm at 14.4v. I want any advice for adjusting this so my sub stops bottoming out on deep songs like bass i love you. I have tried the sub-bass filter but if i turn it up anymore those deep songs lose the deep bass that it can hit fine without bottoming out. its those notes below 25hz that bottom it out, but the sub-bass filter only has a 12db slope and it lets to much in. So what do I do? I don't want to wreck my xcon.

I've just bought a new Pioneer TS-W308D2 dual 2 ohm VC subwoofer. This is the first sub I'm building an enclosure for so I wanted to keep it simple the first time around and stick with a sealed box to keep things easy and relatively foolproof. I may go ported in the future but that's another build for another time. I have two different 2 channel amps (Kenwood KAC7204 ~500 RMS bridged 4 ohm for the subwoofer and an Earthquake T1000W/2 ~200 RMS x 2 channels 4 ohm for the 6.5" comps that I'm putting in the front doors (I'll keep the gains turned well down on the amp to the 6.5 comps). I've looked at the Pioneer manual for the sub and it has the following stats for a sealed…

So ive decided on my new driver set being a seas CA18RNX 7" and the H1189 tweet (27TDFC). with the advice of ///m5, im going to run the CA18 full range and just do a crossover for the H1189 until i can finish my active setup. well after looking at madisound, i came across a prefab xover for the tweet and another driver. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=8232 not wanting to spend an extra 60 bucks on xovers that i wont use very long, i decided to make my own. so far on my list are the 4.7μF SA Range Polypropylene Capacitors, eagle 4 and 20 ohm resistors, and 0.4mH 20AWG Air Core Inductor. im pretty sure theres nothing else i need except a board…

I tried my hand at designing my ported box for the MAW 10 that will fit behind the seat of my RCSB truck. I have decided to go to 1ft^3 as it recomended to keep things comfrotable. According to my figures using the formula on JL Audio site I reached these figures. Port is a piece of 4" PVC. Box @ 1ft^3 28" port 33.08 Hz 27" port 33.63 Hz 26"=34.20 Hz 25"=34.81 Hz 24"=35.46 Hz Is this right and which one would should I go with for my purposes as a daily driver? And also what should I use as the displacement for the driver? Thanks for yalls help in advance, Aaron

Car is a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire, I'm gonna drop an FI Q 10" or 12" (prob 12") in the trunk powered by a Sundown SAX-1200D or if not then an Audioque 1200D. I need to upgrade the 6.5" speakers and tweeters in the doors and was looking for some feedback from people who have some experience with them. They will be powered by the stock 6-channel amplifier. I will be disconnecting the stock 6.5" sub woofers and I can (hopefully) bridge 4 channels into the 2 speakers and the remaining 2 channels will power the tweeters. Im aiming for a SQ setup. Also I will be putting in a Pioneer MVH-P7300 head unit. So with all that information which of these speakers is a good choice: …

I cooked the voice coil in one of my Aura 10 inch midbass drivers So now I need to replace them with something more heavy duty. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/PDF/aurasound/NS10-513-4A.pdf I know the t/s parameters should tell me which driver should be a good candidate but don't understand all of them to the fullest yet, SO this is where I am asking for help. The Drivers will be mounted in my doors IB and will be getting 300 watts RMS. They will be bandpassed 50hz to 400hz, give or take whatever it takes to blend them. Based on my installation I ASSUME that I need a driver with a total Q value of around .35? I ASSUME that because I burnt the voice coil in the Aura I s…

my car has stock 5.25" speakers in the doors and i really wanna KISS on the front stage, with a 2-way. of course i will be deadening and sealing my doors as much as possible, but right now, i dont wanna spend too much on the mids 70 per will probably be the max for me. I have the seas neo metal version sitting here next to me and a set of aa poly mids. the only problem i think will be the fact the stock grill will ONLY fit a 5.25 speaker and i don't want any bad reflections off the inside of the door panel. I wanna HP the mids over ideally around 80hz, but if i must go to 100 i must. For the amps, i will have an Usamps md42 bridged at 180x2 @ 4 ohms so power should…

Im having a hard time weeding thru everything to find the best of the best woofer for my application. It seems as if i get a different answer from everyplace... So ive decided to ask seperate questions and be more specific in my application goals (and poll as many peeps as possible). Box will be ported using 6" areos. I want a pair of 15s that can accuratly reproduce all bass (especially the lows) @ a 4 ohm load on my amp. At that power i want to be able to go to an sq comp and win. But i want to be able to take it down to 1 ohm and run like meade... subs must be able to handle the power at 1 ohm and sound as good as possible. Daily is where im mainly concerned with but i…

Hi all, I am looking to get a new subwoofer for my car. I have narrowed it down to the following based on reviews online..... All 12" speakers FiQ, Fi SSD, ICON, or maybe go with two DCONS or FiX's. I will have to get a box anyways, so one or two subs is an option. I have 1000watts @ 1ohm / 750 @ 2ohm to power the sub(s). I want something that will play tight, clean bass with a good kick but at the same time get a little loud if I want. Mainly rock music and hip hop, some jazz and classical. No country From past expierence I prefer the sound of sealed enclosures, however I would not rule out a ported enclosure if it doesnt get muddy or boomy. Oh, budget is around 300 f…

From a lot of help from many folks here at SSA, M5, jim, neon and acidburn come to mind(thanks dudes), I decided to go active. I ordered my pio 880 here from SSA because in the end, i've been helped here more and would rather give my hard earned dollars to this place when they are an option. I will be deadening the whole vehicle at some point and doing the doors when I start on the speakers, I cant even figure out how to pop the doors off on this vehicle, and as it's cold as chit I haven't spent anytime on it yet. Future plans also are to add a car-puter, and bass at some point I now need help again for going active with the drivers for the front stage. Right now I am …
