Im trying to decide which 12" sub i want in my car (its a 75 Chevy Nova hatchback). I listen to almost nothing but rap and i want to be very loud with one 12. Amp is a sae-1200dv1,im going to do the big 3 in 1/0 gauge, and i replaced my alternator when i rebuilt my engine but i have no idea how many amps it is. My budget is $350 so ive been looking at the Mach 5 spl,fi bl,and aq hdc3 copper...open to suggestions,i will make the optimum enclosure for whichever 12 i get. Im leaning toward the mach 5 or aq for when i want to upgrade my power instead of having to add another sub and amp.

I'll probably get flamed for this question, but here goes. I'll be purchasing a new sub in July and am having some trouble making a decision. I had originally planned on using the current box I have (1.21 cubes sealed) and getting either a SA-12 or Level 3 12" (the cutout is only 11" and those two are about the only ones I've found that will fit). But I've been doing some thinking about it and have come up with another idea. Getting a cheaper sub like a 10" DCON or a SA-8, and getting a really nice ported box built for it (I'm thinking Argent Audio). I'd love to do a IA 187, but I don't know enought about what I'm doing to put 600 watts on a 300 watt sub. Either …

DD post their excursions in "suspension". Does this mean the total distance the sub can travel as opposed to xmax which means the greatest travel in one direction? For example, their 9500 series has suspension of 80mm... it doesn't seem like this can be xmax.. so would the xmax be 40mm ??(half of the total distance traveled)

I've been looking for some 8s that have a very shallow mounting depth, to use in my doors to get some good midbass. So far all I've come up with are the JL TW5, and they're 13 inch. I'd really like to find something closer to 8 inch. I know that I could use deeper ones and glass the doors out, but then I think I would always be rubbing on them with my leg while driving. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate them.

I have a spare set of tweeters and crossovers from a 4" mb quart comp set. My question is, can I get any set of 6.5 midbass speakers and use the mb quart crossovers with it? Or are there certain factors that have to be looked at for one to be compatible with the other. I could just get a whole set of 6.5 comps but I remembered I had some extra parts and wanted to see if I can just get some midranges and use what I have.

New to site and need some help with sub choice. I just bought a '08 Silverado Crew Cab with a SubThump single 12" sealed box and currently has a Kenwood KFC-W3012 in it and I am definitely not happy with it. I have a hair less than 6.75" of mounting depth and .95 air space before sub and it doesnt have any filler but could get some if need be. To power it i have a 600w Infinity Ref mono block. I also have ID CTX65 Components and a Pioneer 4200dvd deck and listen to everything....I would say rock and rap more than anything else. I am more into SQ but want something that can hit low and fast and sound great doing it. Budget wise I would like to stay under $300. So.....wh…

To start off with, I have a 2000 Silverado ext.cab with RF 400.4 on mids/highs. Diamond Audio m361 components in the front doors and m341 components in the ream so I have quality mids/highs to hang with the subs I choose. I want to go with 2 12" subs in a 1.15cub ft box per sub(sealed). I will be running a RF BD1500.1 on the subs, at 13.8volts it puts out 1,627watts @ 2ohms. I was dead set on the IA Lethal Injection's, but I wanted to know what was everyone's impression of the FI Q. How does it compare to the LI in the air space I have and what are the pros and cons of each? I know the LI's come fully loaded, but you have to pay for the extras in the FI Q. I want s…

I'm trying to soak up as much information as I can for my next upgrade. But having difficult making a decision on my new sub setup. Too many different subs to choose from and then do I go ported or sealed. So far all I have ran is sealed Pioneer and Alpine amps/subs. But now I am looking to broaden my horizons and try something new. I took the first step and went with an MB Quart DSC1000.1 amp to power my Alpine SWR-1222D at 1Ohm in a sealed ~1.25ft³ enclosure (Scosche prefab. Best thing about it is the spring loaded terminal cup). Been thinking of either going 2 sealed 12's at approx 500w rms each or 1 ported 12 at 750 - 1500w rms. So far I have looked at the followin…

Hi, I'm going to build a new system in the next month or so and at the moment this is what I'm looking at getting. 1 Fi BTL 12" or 15" MB Quart 1500 watt amp (I'll add more power when I upgrade my electrical further) However, I found a 15" Ascendant Audio Chaos on craigslist for $220 with a 4 cubic ft. enclosure. The guy says its in good condition and has only been running on 500wrms. I don't know anything about the AA line of subs. Which Fi sub would it compare to? Would it be worth the extra money to get the BTL? My goal is the loudest system under $800 heres the link to the post: Ascendant auidio 15" Chaos W/4cube ported box Thanks, Joe

Please don't bash me for this. I want to know why my ssa xcon sucks at any frequency's above 60hz. I know they are mainly meant for deep bass, but every other sub ive ever owned could hit the 60-100hz range well, even my last 1000rms 15" i used to have. I know this sub is not those subs, but why is a sub that meant for SQ not able to hit those frequency's I really like the fill in there, even that some of you may think its pointless or dumb. also to add is that better component speakers would help but it would take like 6 8" woofers to get the feel i wan't and thats way way to much money for me.

Which one would have the most output for daily in a 3 12, common chamber slot port tuned to 32 hz? Im mainly looking for something that will get loud and low and still sound moderately decent. My amplifier is a saz-3000d so im looking for 3 12's in the 1000 + watts range. Anyone have experience with the two? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I keep reading topics where people say hdc's really perform after u put a 2200 on it. I got two md2ds and was going to put one on each sub. 1500 a piece. But if they won't perform until 2200 should I still consider these? If not what's a better choice? DC lvl 4xl? Xcon?
